Hey Mr. Ryan, my buddy is joining the Navy soon and leaving in about a month. He's trying to become a rescue diver. He's in great shape so I kept telling him to try for SEALs but I think he was afraid of failure so he didn't wanna try. Is there a chance they'll force him to try out for the SEALs. I truly believe he could make it and I think deep down he would want to become one.

Excellent examples of how to use the shot timer, using a target with multiple size circles and how to make effective use of ammunition. I was also happy to see that you demonstrated the use of racking the slide and using the slide lock release without getting into the quagmire of which method is better. I have the same shot timer and will begin to integrate your method into my training. As you allude to, you have to set a baseline and you can't improve what you don't measure! Very squared away teaching demo sir!

I'm a beginner with firearms, so watching instructional videos on the Basics and Fundamentals is extremely useful for me.
The squinting to zone in on the target is something I hadn't heard, before, and I'm definitely going to try it. With understanding the importance of keeping both eyes open, I find that right after I blink my dominant eye, I'm able to see the front sight more clearly with both eyes. I'm hoping the squinting will resolve my need to close any eye, at any time.

What helped me to learn both eyes open on the cheap was airsoft. My driveway is lined with palm trees on both sides. I walk briskly up the drive switching from side to side keeping both eyes open. The trees are roughly as wide as a human. You condition yourself to just point and shoot and can hit almost every time.

Squinting helps both the target and sights be in focus at the same time because it lowers your aperture size, which in turn expands your depth of field. Same reason peep sights on a rifle make it so much easier to have a clear sight picture of the front post and the target.

Boxing stance is very comfortable for me . I provides a very stable platform for shooting. Not a lot of stress on the legs. Great shooting tips. Thank you for sharing.

I highly suggest getting a Brock String and using it daily doing Brock String exercises to get your eyes to work together. This will do wonders for your vision and shooting.
If you want to get better at shooting, you have to train the things we use to shoot. Your eyes are one of those things.
Also, your grip strength, your forearm strength, overall strength, and also your mind with things like visualization training.

I always find it entertaining when watching videos like these that seem to take place on a perfectly utopian range that only exists in most of our imaginations. Most of us are relegated to lame indoor dungeons or my favorite, the fake outdoor range that has overhead beams and makes you feel like you’re shooting through a pillbox.

Where I live we have a massive outdoor gun range it’s like 150 acres

I am right handed and left eye dominant, it's not a problem with me having both eyes open I naturally use my left. The only time I use both sights is for super accurate shots. If I practice on full silhouettes "simulating a shootout" I shoot instinctively. When the shit hits the fan I don't have time to use the sights and line up. I need to be fast and first on Target. This man has taught me a lot and I have improved so much.

Not about speed , it's about smooth
Not about how fast you can be , it's about hitting Your TARGET
Smooth = Speed and Balance = Aim
Shoot with Full Control and Aim Softly With Total Control ( Just Smooth )
Treat Your gun like your HAND OR ARM and simply point at your TARGET
Always what I notice with the elite guys is they are always Smooth Steady and Ready and their guns seem like its just part of their hand or arm like a finger while in full CONTROL
Simple really but the practice is what brings the ability to be this way
Safety first and foremost is also always what I notice and these guys are extreme with this part of it and they have been trained in the most unsafe and real situations but yet safety is always 1st
I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT GUNS SO JUST WHAT I NOTICE AND WILL IMPLEMENT WHEN I DO GET INTO IT BECAUSE I FULLY ADVOCATE FOR THE 2ND AMENDMENT
    Thanks Travis
    And
    God Bless

Actually need this in my life, despite shooting an absurd amount in the army. We did not carry sidearms unless we wanted to carry an m9... so I just carried extra ammo. I’m going to the range saturday. Perfect timing dogg.
