Apache Junction, Arizona is the place to come to in the winter for long term camping.... You're 10 miles from three large, lakes. Your just down the street from Chandler and Mesa... Two very large Cities.... Apache Junction or AJ as it is called....a lot of Western history in AJ... You have scenic hiking in the Superstition mountains...AJ is fairly close to Phoenix, Arizona...you can take road trips up north like to Show Low Arizona.... There's a fourth lake not too far from AJ called .. Saguaro Lake.
Now this is a video I could use . My nomad camping is going to begin in March of 2024 . I’ve been looking into Quartzite as my winter retreat. I now have inside information on what to do there and to fill my supplies. One of the best videos I’ve seen on this place thank you .
This year was my third year in Quartzsite. I would say my favorite for camping was Plamosa Road from 95 east, all the way to Bouse. All 14 day areas except for one or two locations. Beautiful terrain and at the end of Plamosa Road a RV park with recently renovated showers and laundry facilities. $5 showers.
Being a weekend warrior RV'r myself I never understood the witch hunt for cheap restaurants . Most of us like myself have "Kitchens" in our rig that includes refrigerators. I always opt to cook my own meals in my RV over dining out. Most my meals are high quality foods at under 8 dollars a serving sometimes only 4 dollars, such as hotdogs and hamburgers. And when the fish are biting the cost is ZERO !!
You can get a Long Term pass for Laposa for $180, no limit camping from Sept 15 to April 15 at any of the 4 LTVA (Long Term Visitor Area) through the BLM.
Yeah $180 month lot better than ,$1000 month at RV park. On my SS I cant aford that. Tribal camping sounds bitter, and if you buy a membership in a Gold clame stay on clame.
I staid there then at American Lakes, they had better restroom facilities there , and at the lake Showers WOW , thats refreshing.. Short trip to Yuma , and Los Algodonas Mexico, for Food and Shopping. Love the Open Air Markets.
Quartszite is crowded, very dusty and dirty with a lot of high winds ... You have grocery stores that are very limited with fairly high prices... Lots of homeless people living in Quartzsite... In the winter months. A lot of times the BML land used for free boondocking is pretty cluttered with trash... I've seen where people where pooping and trash bags in buckets then burying the bags...so you come in to camp, you will never know what's buried underneath you where you are camping...just the thought of camping on top of someones poop is enough to want to stay away from boondocking in Quartzsite....you do want to camp in Apache Junction, Arizona lots of winter visitors...are now going and camping along term in AJ ... Apache Junction, Arizona

We have camped here several times, over a period of 6 years. Normally starting about the middle to late in February. We have not been there when the big tent show was going. We have found most of the other people camping near us to be respectful, not too noisy, and have always felt safe. For a single female traveler, I would just recommend that you not look for a place that is too far from other campers, or too isolated, and that you be open to greeting those around you. Most of the others will be be glad to keep an eye out for troublemakers. Common sense for you should be your guide. There are posted rules, but only some of the BLM sites have a camp host, and their hours are a little spotty. In some places, they do actively monitor people to make sure the rules are being followed. Try it, and we think you'll like it. Good luck.
If you go to the Desert Bar you have to see the view from the men's bathroom, it is awesome! Women go in there with the help of men so they can see the view.
Who's got money to eat out? Or pay 30 bucks a day to camp. Nothing about car or tent campers with no black tank. Groceries, cooking, eating at your camp.
Thank you for all the good information. You have a nice tan. But please be careful of skin cancer. A wider hat for safety would provide more shade for your head. You want to be around for many more enjoyable years. New subscriber. Blessings to you.

Great video!
Scatta wash, scatern wash, scattered wash or neither one of those?
Scaddan Wash. But like your spelling better. HA!
Who's got money to eat out? Or pay 30 bucks a day to camp. Nothing about car or tent campers with no black tank. Groceries, cooking, eating at your camp.
You can get ltva access for around $180 for 6 months.
Do you have a list of RV parks?
Thank you for all the good information. You have a nice tan. But please be careful of skin cancer. A wider hat for safety would provide more shade for your head. You want to be around for many more enjoyable years. New subscriber. Blessings to you.
Heading to Q this winter. Thanks for the info! New subscriber 😉
Solitude and quiet.
