    Thank you for suggesting Grandpa Gus products. (They should sponsor you.) I use the one for spiders and spray it around windows (inside and outside) and my front and back door frames (inside and outside). It really works and it smells good too. So, thank you.

    Great tips! I have one to add, use a small tarp or rug under your shower tent. The wind will destroy the bottom of the tent from rubbing against the rocky ground.
    I’m looking forward to getting my desert tan.

    Good morning I’m sitting here having a cuppa coffee November 12. I’ve been watching a lot of your videos you explain things very very well. I really enjoy listening to you. Hopefully one day will catch up with each other out down the highway. Sit down and have some coffee but thank you for everything you do, be safe out there and take it easy later

    Great video Amanda, love the suggestions, they are all good. Iris and i have been here in La posa NW, about a mile from the market/RV show area, since early Nov, so we are neighbors...sort of. You are quite right about the wind, that is the most severe weather condition thus far, but we have learned to keep things tied down, and only rarely make a fire. Anyway, thanks again, enjoyed your video, very informative, and well done :) Blessings, Tommy & Iris

    Thank you so much! This is to be my first year (last year due to rains we went to Padre Island instead). I'd remembered in one of your videos you mentioned a spray for rodents, but forgot what. Now will order the Grandpa Gus! Can't wait to get there in Jan. along with my aunt & my oldest daughter. Hope we get to see you and many other You Tube friends that have taught us about this life!

    Don’t forget to bring a headlamp. Keeps your hands free to do whatever you need to do. And for safety bring a whistle too 👍🏼

    I got my rug near there at the Trading post going to the West I think more across from McDonald's. 8'x10' under $20.
    Mouse repellent. I make my own, casting oil, peppermint, cinnamon and eucalyptus oil, rubbing alcohol. It dies work. I get quite a few bottles from these ingredients. Yes, but remember the wind. It tore up my new canopy even with my extra strength stakes and rope to tie down and lowering it to the ground.The wind on the desert is always higher than what they state on the weather. There is no wind breaks, rarely anyway, and it is about 5 mph higher. Thanks
    Amanda
    ! woukd recommend quality rope, extra poles and stakes,
    heavy duty clips, some good tarps but not heavy for wind breaks, walls, extra rain fly and heavy duty tarps to put under your rug to protect it and for a ground cover if you have a tent. Fast drying rug for your shower.
    I am getting a spot light this year to see the road better in the desert at night. Dollar solar lights to stick in the ground to mark where your camp turn is and I mark with them where to park. I also put them in each corner of my rug as well. If you have a tent, put some where guy line are on each side. You can remove the tops and put them in pretty containers for your sitting areas.
    Thanka for all you do! Oh, darn it, sure extinguisher and/or a fire rug and a window breaker. Luv ya, love your channel❣️ 🪢🔦🧯💺🔨🔧🪓🦴🐾🚙

    I am concerned about being under the sun, honestly, I'm not really a sun person, the sun bothers my eyes and the heat bothers me just in general (yea, I know, really a bother in van life for me!) I'm going have to have some kind of cover for myself out there, otherwise I will just be in my van all the time, facing away from the sun! Thanks for these sugeestions.

    What are the things called that hold up an awning? I tried to figure it out before and I couldn't. Yea, my diabetes isn't the only thing that affects my skin out here in AZ, I just found the best thing I've ever used on my feet, it's called Palmer's Shea Butter formula! Who knew? It's def something that has probably been around for a long time but this has worked miracles for my dry skin and even a skin condition that developed on my legs from poor blood circulation, thank God...my skin finally feels normal again!

    Question if your staying in your van and need to leave.what to do to get your spot back or do you have to find another spot to stay thank you for posting

  • @belladanielleramsey
    @belladanielleramsey Месяц назад

    Thank you for all these great suggestions! Now when you leave your spot to go into town, how do you know if someone won’t take it? Or is that OK and you just find another one? Or did you just leave your rug out if you have one?

    Question for you - I know that LTVA rules say no grey water on the ground. Do people use shower tents? Also FYI - if you do not have a true toilet in your van/tralier/bus/etc, you are required to camp near a pit toilet at LTVA.

    • @AdventuringWithAmanda
      @AdventuringWithAmanda  Месяц назад +4

      I'm not really sure all of the specific rules with that sort of thing because I don't stay at LTVAs. But I do see people using shower tents if I stop in to visit friends.
