@@christopher4249 yeah h4 original blu ray kinda sucked there a documentary on the one of the earlier dvd release called 'Halloween 4 Final Cut' and it was a pretty good making of documentary but for some reason they didn't put on the Divimax DVD or the original blu ray but im glad SF is putting as much as they could find on the new 4K
I'm most excited that.. I pre-ordered the full set that included the pins.
So all of it together.
Love the cover art on all of those.

I'm pretty satisfied with the Scream Factory blu rays I have for Halloween 2&3, I might consider getting those copies of Halloween 4&5 to replace my current copies one day.
But for now? I couldn't resist ordering a Scream Factory edition of the original Halloween. It's my favorite horror film ever and all the Scream Factory copies I've gotten for other movies have been pretty sick so far.
Edit: I'm full of shit. After I got the first as I said. Then I ordered the second. Then I said "Fuck it" and got 3-5 as well
Personally love the artwork for all of them. They look exactly how they are displayed in the movies.
On the H4 artwork, the reflection on the knife is NOT Jamie Lloyd, it's the young Michael Myers from the clown costume scene at the drug store.

I love those slipcases. Those are so much better than the flimsy ones that get damaged when shipped. I hope to see more 4ks with those.
The artist is clearly one of those people who goes for attention to detail and realism over making the product look good. Instead of making the shape look badass on all covers he stays true to how bad the masks may have been in those films.

Bought 1 and 2 at FYE in December of last year. They were originally $34.99, but both were on sale at $29.99, so I snagged them. Great picture for both releases! Shout outdid themselves! Great buys! Money well spent!

I really liked the color timing on the bluray included with the 4k disc. I think its the original color timing. It seemed more orange like it was actually fall.

I love how like the friday the 13th Scream factory set you can reverse the covers. I still hope this year for Halloween Ends that shout releases 4k sets in this same style with the other movies. I think Curse - Rob Zombie 2 is possible. As I assume the new Trilogy will probably have its own 4k set from Universal.

Shout Factory really dropped the ball on these shipments. It use to be that if you preordered w/ them you received the item the week before street date. I preordered in July and still my order for all 5 w/ posters says processing only.
@@darmok4878 Yeah that's tough. I get there are external issues, but totally agree. With SF you should get early and they should plan for issues to get out a few weeks earlier.

The distribution rights is complete mess in the UK, nobody is bothering even releasing these 4K versions in the UK, i thought about importing but with the supplier issues/delays and customs im not bothering, such a big fan and would love these in 4k as i am a collector myself, I own Lionsgate Halloween 1978 4K but UK didnt even get Halloween 2 and 3 blu ray versions last decade and even though i own Halloween 4 and 5 on Blu ray from anchor bay but would prefer the sharper native 4k image so i dont expect anyone bothering with 4K, such a big shame...
You would have to get them elsewhere anyway being in UK as Shout/Scream Factory don't ship to UK

My Halloween 2 disc was the exact same too they kept falling off, strange yours has the original artwork, mine has scream factory artwork on both the sleeve and bluray itself

I know a lot of people are. Crazy thing is I picked up 1 from Best Buy and the other from DiabolikDVD. Weird to think they could get stuff out to retailers but not their own shit.
I honestly only purchased the ones that had NEW special features. Halloween 5 has the long lost alternate intro which is honestly the only big new feature.

i hope u enjoy the h2 tv cut it's a mess from bad editing and weird restructuring of the movie but with some cool deleted scenes a few of them are boring and i see why they cut them and one big one that explains why the hospital is so dark suddenly midway into the movie

Finally got part 2 today however I'm kind of upset just like some others that posted there uboxings of part 2 the disc were loose inside this seems to be mainly a problem with part 2 the flip tray does not like to hold the disc properly in place scream factory needs to send replacements part 2

These look dope...gonna have to hunt them down. I always considered the true trilogy to be Halloween (1978), Halloween II (1981) and Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later (1998). Hopefully the rest of the films get a release like these along with matching slipcovers. The RZ films I don't care to own though.
For me, I do like the Television Version of Halloween II. It's very interesting to see what would've been in the original theatrical Version of the film. Really some good scenes (John Carpenter cut those scenes as well as filmed newer death scenes), I think the characterisation of all the characters really makes the movie better. Out of all the scenes he cut, I think the scene where the power gets cut out should've stayed in the final cut, as in the theatrical version, we see the hospital lit up in the first half and it's dark in the second, with no explanation on how it got that way.

For H5: Is the lost footage included as a different cut of the film, or is it simply just added into bonus features similar to what they did with Friday the 13th 2’s Lost Footage? If it’s edited into a cut (ie dr death cut) I’d purchase but if it’s simple bonus footage I might pass.
I'm working my way through the movies right now! I'll let you know or post a video review of each release.

Finally got mine today disc and slip covers are in excellent condition however i noticed my part 4 is in an eco style case the others are in solid style cases also the 4k stamping on some us where the on part 4 the 4k stamping looks a little more embedded maybe because it's the one with the eco case part 3 the 4 in the 4k stamping is kind of smeared looking
I got an eco case for one of mine as well. That’s interesting.
You could always find a solid case to replace the crappy eco one online

Not positive but as far as I know they all come with those slip boxes.

Not that I am aware of yet. These scans most likely won't make it on to digital. It'll have to be released by the studios.

They only came out with 1-5 on 4K to start with. Hoping for the rest of them to be released in the future, but never know with rights.
Are they exclusive to region a or can they be played on region b players too?
I believe all the 4k discs are all region/region free. But all of the blu-rays with the features are Region A locked.
The blu rays are region a locked so you would need a multiregion player or US Blu Ray Player to watch them

Is 4K necessary?
These movies were made before this tech.
Yes it’s not about when the technology was made. Anything shot on film can be rescanned using the best technology and make the picture/movie look much better.
Film holds detail up to 8K. The original film can be scanned and remastered to uncover the hidden detail previous formats could not show.
And isn't it silly for this 4K release of Halloween that they didn't include that rare television version with the footage included that came out 21 years ago that print desperately deserves a Blu-ray release and I hope they get around to it sometime

@@ScreamingCinema I am one of the early birds that lay their hands on this back in 2001 when it was released it came with a film cell and the television run addition to the film I don't understand why this has fallen out of site of companies like Shout Factory why wouldn't they release this version again especially on Blu-ray or 4K which I don't have a player for that yet
It's included on this set. The original 1981 tv cut and the other extended edition(theatrical spliced with the tv cut scenes).
Just bought them off Amazon only one I wont flip the art work on is 3 as the new art work is better for that one than the shitty original cover art
I refuse to buy a scream factory till they start including digital 4K codes. not always home so I need the digital option. 2 it makes it more if a bang for your buck so I'm not having to re buy it digitally later when it's released digitally.
I don’t know all the logistics for them but have never seen a boutique label put out a digital code so I’m assuming it’s something with rights but would love digital copies too
I hate to break it to you but Shout! never does digital copies.
Will these go out of print?
They used to always, but now they hang around a lot longer until rights issues come up. So I am not sure.

Halloween 3 is a classic. It's one of my favorites. I will always stand by that film.
