This is smart because some people get 1200 a month then get a $900 apartment maybe and have to go to church park to pay the rest of the bills. Never ending cycle. This man inspired me
I am disabled...hurt on the job spinal injury..my bills on average is 975 a month...i have two homes..a vacation condo and a house in a gated community...if you get SS or SSDI...can live very well and cheap if you look at all the options and can find a low cost of living country to live..
People don't WANT to pay $900 on an apt, they have no choice! Rents are out of control. Fortunately, he has the skills to do the work, most women don't...thus the extreme poverty of females in this country! 80% of women over 65 are living in POVERTY in America!
@@valeriehancotte-galan4790my mother-in-law lived in a senior apt and because of her income she only had to pay 200.00 in rent. Maybe you could check into that.
Kudos to him! I moved into my 27 foot two slide RV a few months ago and restrict myself to 1000 or less $ a month and am living stress free and happy on five rural acres purchased for 8k with septic and power and a well already setup.
Dickinson, the manufacturer of that stove, also makes propane fireplaces that have much smaller clearances. They come complete (heater, stove pipe, stainless mounting plate, chimney cap). The propane units have a double chimney that brings outside air into the sealed fireplace so they don't use inside air and they don't put moisture into the space they are heating. I have had one for over 15 years and there has been zero maintenance.
Just wanted everybody to know that a carbon monoxide tester will not test RV propane gas. Only a propane gas detector. Propane gas does not put out carbon monoxide. Love all you folks out there
I’m not as knowledgeable as Tommy, and he has confirmed my suspicions that work trucks are the way to go! The fireplace setup, executed as Tommy has, is a great idea! Thank you both!!
Thank you to the person who gave you your rig!!!!! So many of us seniors are living on barely anything, I was so looking for the so-called raise, never saw it!
The worktruck was a great solution. Payload is such a concern with truck campers. Your “truck-talk” was interesting and informative. It's neat to see the big Bigfoot being used with ease.
What a great idea installing a marine wood stove! I love his whole setup. I could live comfortably on my social security without worrying about how I’m going to make my check last for a month.
Another fabulous informative interview by Bob. I love the different diverse interviews that I know help others to see this is possible. Thank you Bob for all you do and thank you Tom for sharing with us. Much love and many blessings
Amen brother I live on social security disability and in my motorhome off grid and I would love to have a stove fireplace and my motorhome thank you Tommy 😃💖
Hahahaha you noticed my stuffed puppet bat :-) There is a long interesting story behind that Bat. Maybe I share that story some other time..... It's a tiny superlight fiberglass canoe I can pull up to the roof of the camper with a rope. Its powered by a tiny trowling motor and a 50ah lithium battery. I charge it with the camper solar system. I love to explore shorelines :-) ruclips.net/video/8FCLmET1QT8/видео.html
Great setup and tips about looking for a flatbed work truck (it has great storage too) ...and thank you for spending the additional time on the fireplace setup. It's not "almost like you're home" (6:20), that IS a fantastic home you have there! ...home is where you are. :) ...and, Bob, thanks again for another awesome video!
Nice set up , can’t speak for USA but here in Australia that a big no no having your gas bottles in the same compartment as electrical components , You’ve got gas bottles there I imagine with the regulator, also a generator with electric fittings and exhaust and the rear of a air cond 😕
I store the extra bottle of propane there. Everything propane runs off the campers propane cabinet. I only use the ac a few weeks a year in the north country. I remove the stored propane bottle before I fire up the generator and AC. I mostly just undo the cam quick tie down strap on the generator and chain it to a tree or something big and strong so it doesn't grow legs at 3 am in the morning. But I have used in were its racket strapped down if I feel its not in a safe area. I am sure a better idea will pop up and I will change that setup. This project is on going it will never be done. :-)
Tommy seems to be a great person and I'm glad he chose to haul his camper with a dually work truck....I met some folks once that found out the hard way that a pickup truck with single wheels in the rear is simply flirting with disaster after blowing a rear tire, they almost lost their lives! I won't do it anymore!
Great set up . I've got 14 more months till I plan on hitting the road as a nomad . I'm starting to look around and find something to build out for boondocking. Have learned alot from RUclips and Bob Wells over the past five or so years and can't wait to be free . From Lake Havasu but stuck in Michigan for the next 14 months then Desert here I come.
I thought I was the only one that had multiple solar electrical systems on board Tommy here has two! I have 4 if you include the house battery that is a 100 amp hour lithium. So on my 1977 Dodge Mallard class C I have 800 w of solar & 600 ahs of lithium. I believe in having a backup for my backup. What a great build.
Absolutely love wood heat in an RV! We put a tent stove in ours as an emergency backup. When I upgrade to a LQ horse rig in the future it will be that or a diesel heater.
Man woman or child no matter. Your never to old to learn how to fix things. The secret is start with simple repairs and look and learn how it works. Then figure what part broke and figure out how to fix that part. RUclips is amazing with self repair videos. I find it hard to own something like a RV type vehicle and have to find someone each time I break something. Just the cost along for labor is a heck of a motivator. Start with baby steps and you will find others with skills are happy to teach. Next thing you know your helping someone else :-)
That guy knows what he is doing. He got IN that rig cheap to start with, and then added his solar and his heater and other things. A good functional truck with a 454 V-8 pulling it down the road.
I have the same stove. Wood and a propane model. Around 1k new, but $500-$600 used on marketplace. He knows what he is talking about. Budget shopper like me. Saves money.
Great setup. I, too, am thinking of an older HD 4x4 single cab gasoline work truck. The extra storage he has created makes this setup very desirable in my mind. Because I would be spending more time in colder climates, I would go with the propane version of this stove, so as to have heat all night long.
I have a stock propane heater in this camper. My problem was boondocking off grid the heater fan used a lot of 12 volt power and had trouble making it through the cold nights. Once I had a wood stove there is a heat activated fan on top of the stove so not battery drain and wood is every where FREE .... So sometimes I use the propane but most the time i use the woodstove. Sometimes when I get back to my camper its 28 outside and 35 inside. I then use both then. In ten minutes I am at 75 degrees and shut down the propane and slow down the fire in the wood stove. Sometimes I am in a city or at a rest stop an don't use the woodstove. 3 different times people banged on my door and said your roof is on fire hahahaha Different strokes for different folks. Whatever works for you...
Some people are just humble genius's living their lives one day at a time .
While watching, the thought occurred that this man is smarter than most billionaires.

Where did you find land with all that for so cheap?
I'm looking for land myself.
What a deal. Have you been hassled at all for living in your RV on the land?
Wow that's great! I love living frugal too. God bless you 😊🙏
Where?
He's got a very smart setup. He definitely knows what he's doing when it comes to safety. I love that little stove. Thanks for introducing us Bob
He also had a nice size cooking stove and decent refrigerator. Totally impressed with the whole set up. Beautiful home inside and out.
they definitely gave that Bigfoot to the right guy! He's done so much with it and made a wonderful home on wheels.
Social security raise coming in January, I'm sure that will be a big help.

I have the propane model in my truck camper. Saves you time collecting wood. Just swap tanks, easy.
❤thank thank you for your service Veterans ❤
I like this interview style, vs. a person trying to video themselves giving a tour.
dammm, this guy built hes house,no bills leave for free 💯.
When you want a big truck camper, this is sure the way to go. I'm glad he was able to put it together like this. Thanks Bob for this video.
Good video and nice camper with a unique wood heater ! God Bless !!!

Just wanted everybody to know that a carbon monoxide tester will not test RV propane gas. Only a propane gas detector. Propane gas does not put out carbon monoxide. Love all you folks out there
Smart. Thanks for explaining about your work truck, such as dual tires, engine size, gas mileage, no extended cab, etc.

That was an impressive interview with Tommy. He does have a great rig. Gives me ideas.
He has a very nice rig there. I wish him many miles of safe travels. Thanks Bob.
Thank you to the person who gave you your rig!!!!! So many of us seniors are living on barely anything, I was so looking for the so-called raise, never saw it!
