It's understandable for someone that's not a tricker to not see the differences and intricacies in their movement. However, it is very much like skateboarding...The average person doesn't know the difference between a kickflip or a hardflip etc...But it's still a multi million dollar sport and in the X games. Tricking isn't pointless, it's an aesthetic form utilized in films, commercials, music videos all over the world. It's just a relatively new culture that's still constantly evolving.
This battle was so awesome! Matt Emig's in place combo in front of the judges was so insane, and when the nunchucks came out, I couldn't stop grinning like a cheeseball. Best gathering of 2013!!! =D
t's not his fault...This is only 1 of 6 camera angles that we used to shoot the nightshow and gathering. An official sampler is being released of the footage of all the angles together, this camera was literally just supposed to grab bits and pieces. We uploaded due to the demand to see the battles and before other accounts started posting them. This is a very RAW version indeed...Just excuse the camera work in exchange for seeing the battles this quickly until our official edit comes out!
What Emig has over most other trickers is clean form. His kicks are fully extended at the end of the trick and he lands with stability and composure. His tricks are complicated but he seems to know that a simple trick landed well is more exciting than a complex trick landed poorly or without full extension.
You could argue that no sport has a point in the first place, chances are others could say the same thing about what you enjoy doing. It'll appear pointless until you understand it
After you trick for a while, your eyes will pick up each individual trick. Since you're an outsider, all you see is kicks, flips and twists whereas trickers see the variations and transitions. There is not point to anything anyone does. Why does everything have to have a point anyway? Is it such an strange thing to do something because it's fun? Tricking keeps you fit, motivates you to be your best and expands your social circles.
As an outsider to thee 'sport'? I see the minor different variations but to someone that doesn't know about the sport, when I watched this, once i saw the first trick, they all seemed the same. Honest opinion. Pointless sport imo.
pointless sport haha don't be jealous because you are un able to attain what they have worked so hard for pointless sport more like the hardest sport and most impressive sport don't be stupid you see them implement this sport almost everywhere you go music videos, movies, fight scenes and of course sport martial arts just because they are moving so fast and don't have a good eye don't judge so fast think before you speak.

pointless comment..you just need to watch the croud reaction and tricksters passion to conclude that of pointless it has zero..
