I was scratching my head for the last couple of days trying to understand the history, latest and the future developments of the VLS System, untill I found this video , very well explained video , to sum it up all in less than 5 mins , thank you!!!
yknow - this is kinda off topic but like if you put mk70's on the top layer of containers in container ships, and have floating transshipment gantry cranes, wouldn't it be like a lot faster to reload these container ships? if there were something like networked missile tasking, then cargo ships could be missile trucks of the sea.
Same issues as arsenal ship. Many expensive eggs in one basket. Plus the ship is easy to find and not very maneuverable. They are also very fragile relative to other types. 4 Mk 70 on an MUSV/OUSV is useful. Scale that up to something like a Damen 6911 and you could probably fit 8 with a crane or 9 without. Cheap, numerous, fast, maneuverable. Could hide in the littoral potentially. Can ferry up new rounds.
Is that acronym ASSROCK? That’s the most US Navy acronym I’ve ever heard. Way better than stupid ass CANES Consolidated Afloat Network Enterprise Systems. Worst acronym I’ve ever heard lord that’s terrible. Raisin’ Canes at Norfolks NEX is the superior canes over the absolute assrock that is CANES. We need more acronyms like ASSROCK. I propose ASSCOCK next.

My dad worked on . Biggest challenge is reloading while at sea. Red Sea shows more weapons needed on ships
This missile re loading problem will be a big deal in the South China Sea
Or more ships, or another method. Mk 70 can help. Move Tomahawks out of VLS. VLS is best for AAW.

Please could you do a short video to explain China’s claims on its neighbour’s territory, and explain the island chains?
