    Thank you for the presentation Dr. Sugi. How can we tell if ovaries are "edematous" on ultrasound? Are edematous ovaries hypoechoic compared to abdominal wall and meseteric fat?

      Hi Sagar, great question. Generally you'll want to look at the volume of the ovary (> 20 cc), prominence of the ovarian stroma and peripheralization of follicles (pushed to the edges by the edematous stroma). When the ovarian stroma is edematous it can be slightly echogenic but the morphologic features are more important for identifying torsion.
