Fun fact the actress who plays simbas mom played Eddie Murphys mom in coming to America as well. She and james earl Jones played king and queen together twice
3 things 1. This movie is my number #1 favorite Disney film ever. I watch this even after becoming an adult. 2. R.I.P James Earl Jones 3. That stampede scene was so intense, you could literally feel it
Now when I saw this movie as an adult, I cried a lot and got emotional, this movie is a gem :) the best thing, even MJ cried with tears and the other thing is that she knows the songs, one day she and I should sing almost all the songs from The Lion King
The Lion king actually comes from The Asuarian Drama. Where Ausar (Osiris) was the king of Kemet (Egypt) and his brother Set (where Satan derives from) kills him over jealousy. His soul then returns and impregnates his wife Auset (Isis) and on December 25th their son Heru (Horace) is born, he gets older fights his uncle and wins his father’s kingdom back.
The voices in this film are incredible; starting with Mufasa (James Earl Jones who R.I.P, also was the voice of Darth Vader among another epic roles), and Scar (Jeremy Irons).
It doesn't matter how many times I've seen this movie, the scene where Simba finds Mufasa dead in the gorge always gets me in the heart. Especially the fact that Scar gaslights Simba into thinking it was his (Simba's) fault and Johnathan Taylor Thomas' line delivery. Also, I am very glad they cast James Earl Jones as Mufasa. As much as I respect the actor, they almost cast Christopher Walken. Side note: Some of the character's names have meanings translated out of Swahili Simba: Lion Nala: Gift Mufasa: King Sarabi: Mirage Rafiki: Friend Pumbaa: Slow-Witted Zazu: Movement Shenzi: Savage Banzai: Skulk or lurk Taka (Scar's original name): Waste Timon (His name actually comes from Greek): Respect or Honor
The Lion King has been my favorite Disney movie from the day I was born. Every time I went to my aunts house, I turn it on. I’m so proud of my Kenyan heritage even though the Lion King is Tanzanian.Compared to both countries, we share the same language which is Swahili. I also had the figurines when I was a kid. I could go on and on, but I’m glad we both share the affinity of the Lion King. Fun Fact: Rafiki means friend and Simba means Lion (Swahili)
My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Disney movie. I was just out of high school and I watched it with my young nieces. They're adults now, with children of their own. It's STILL my favorite today. I cried at the FIRST SONG (CIRCLE OF LIFE), every time.
RIP to the GOAT James Earl Jones. Mufasa's death always hits hard but especially now. For context, I had a seizure disorder for a few years during my childhood; which made me really sensitive to flashing lights. So, before I was able to watch Star Wars, my first James Earl Jones movie after The Lion King was Gimme Shelter starring Vanessa Hudgens. He had a supporting role as a priest but every time he came on screen, his presence lit up and commanded the room. Also fun fact: Some of Be Prepared was sung by Jim Cummings aka the voice of Winnie the Pooh and Tigger when Jeremy Irons was not available.
R.I.P. James Earl Jones. This is my all time favorite Disney movie. My mom took me to see this movie in the theater when it first came out in 1994. ❤ Edit: I love Scar. He's the best Disney villain in my opinion. 😂 The part that makes me cry the most is when Simba talks to Mufasa's image in the sky. My daughter always gives me the dirtiest, most crusty look when I start crying during that scene. 😂
James Earl Jones was the voice of reason!😢rip BTW I'm glad you're watching this and reacting! It's one of my faves! Hans Zimmer is the best choice to compose this film!
The movie that got Hans Zimmer his first Oscar. I had the privilege of seeing him perform live a few weeks ago. And hearing Lion King in person, was… EXHILARATING!!!
MJ when you stop getting emotional at these times. Then you need to worry. Iam 64 and still get emotional watching kid movies. I still bawl like a baby at the final scene of "AMAZING GRACE AND CHUCK"
"The Lion King" has many details in common with "Hamlet", the famous novel by Shakespeare. For me, it´s the best animated film ever, with one of the best OST ever composed (by the great Hans Zimmer). ALWAYS touches my heart in some scenes. It´s a truly masterpiece.
I would like for you to do a reaction to The Jacksons an American Dream a movie about Michael Jackson and his brothers of the jackson 5 RIP MICHAEL 🙏🏾 JACKSON AND RIP TITO JACKSON 🙏🏾
R.I.P James Earl jones the greatest actor that I've have ever known nobody on this good earth would never ever be able to take his place because his voice was so deep and powerful. Lion king is one of the greatest Disney movies ever made in history .
It's a classic film. I first saw it when I was 9 back in 1995. It was like magic and nobody blames you for crying. The was a sad part of the movie. They actually came out with 2 more after that one.
yeah genz missed when this movie was poppin and prob never even hear of JTT, but he was every little girls crush back then and everywhere in the early 90s.
I’m one of the many people who grew up watching The Lion King. In addition, I also watched 1 1/2 and 2. I currently have a digital copy of the original vhs release, 2 disc special edition dvd set and 4k release. It’s interesting to spot the difference between them.
RIP James Earl Jones 🙏🏼 This movie is still a classic, AAAYYYY its ok, nothing wrong with crying when Mufasa dies. Hell im 40 and i still cry at this movie. Even when Simba see's his fathers reflection i cry. But yes im Jeremy Irons who voiced Scar he's in Batman vs Superman he plays Batmans butler.

Jason Weaver's mom made him turn down a $2 million payout from Disney but instead had him take $100k plus royalties instead so now he still gets paid for singing for Simba

R.I.P James Earl Jones yeah Scar was envious of Mufasa and Simba over rulership of the kingdom and jealousy and envy leads to killing your own family
Lion King 1 1/2 is a backstory of Timon and Puma also how Simba grew up with them
"The Lion King" has many details in common with "Hamlet", the famous novel by Shakespeare. For me, it´s the best animated film ever, with one of the best OST ever composed (by the great Hans Zimmer). ALWAYS touches my heart in some scenes. It´s a truly masterpiece.
