@@dupersuper1938 As a former boy in a small town, Beavis and Butthead was hilarious to me. In retrospect, it was an amazing depiction of a bored, boyhood friendship that is incredibly stupid and destructive, but also somehow intimate in an unspoken way.
Remember B&B came out before the internet was widespread, so most other media was controlled and sanitized. Compare Beavis and Butthead to (for example) Michael J. Fox in Family Ties or Kirk Cameron in Growing Pains. B&B might have been dumb but it was 100% more reflective of actual day to day living for kids that didn't live in a TV mansion with caring and present parents.
Blowing stuff up, doing stupid things, hurting each other and more than anything sitting around reacting to stuff. Most of the show was them watching and reacting to videos, so that was also very "meta" before meta was a thing. I certainly understand why some (or most) people don't appreciate the show or prefer King of the Hill (which was also very perceptive with much more normal storytelling).

However, the same bones of Judge’s worldview that you enjoy in his other works are fully present in Beavis and Butthead.

The day you finally watch “Employee of the Month” is going to be a really really good day for me. I am surprised more people don’t suggest it to you. If you need incentive in this reaction you mention how cool a movie set in a Costco would be, how bout a comedy with actors you already love. I hope it comes across your board soon ❣️

Mike Jusge said the crocks weren't available to the public yet. Someone in wardrobe came acrossed them and they all thought they were stupid, had no chance of becoming a common product.
He said it took a couple years to release the movie and in that time crocks had exploded on the scene.
So, they kind of lost the effect of a stupid product from the future

I saw this in 2006 when it came out on DVD and got it sent to me in the mail from Netflix (yeah that's what Netflix was back then...)
I loved Office Space! Loved loved *LOVED* IT!
So I was pretty excited to see Idiocracy when it arrived.
Then my reaction first time I saw it was pretty much same as yours.
    I was disappointed.
However, this is one of those movies that, for me at least, gets better with every single rewatch.
There is just *so much* packed into this movie, every time I watch it I see something I missed before.
I love this movie now (still love Office Space more though) and think it is great!

Shanelle, a satire from early 80’s that is kind of forgotten is Blake Edwards S.O.B. that is a viscous attack on Hollywood. Stars Julie Andrews and William Holden and I think you will love it.

I didn't see you watch this movie to the end and at the very end of this movie there another scene. Go back and watch the movie to the very end! Also I think this was one of the greatest twists to a movie ever 22:44 about the time machine just like Fight Club! Absolutely loved you finding out it was a ride! I didn't see that coming either! Love ya and keep up the great reactions!

When I was an 18 year old boy this movie was quite funny to me, and an honestly pretty original idea at the time. I think some things are extra funny now seeing how real life played out since, but watching it again now it was pretty flat as you said.
Office Space on the other hand is a gosh darn classic, a must watch!

Mike Judge said at the time he chose Crocs as the footwear for the movie because he was just looking for the most ridiculous looking shoe. Then Crocs got super popular a few years later at made him look prophetic.

Who said this was a low budget flop? lol, I saw this in a packed theater, at school people were talking like Macho Camacho for like 2 years. It's like Python levels of quotable. I guess the studio itself didnt like what Judge was saying, that's all. Judge cashed in a lot of good will to put this message out there. And good on him for it.

We call that anecdotal evidence, which isn't good for much when you have real figures. The movie's budget was 2.4 million and it only grossed 495k while in theaters, so roughly only made back 20% of the budget. It's literally the definition of a flop.

19:17 Beef Supreme is played by Andrew Wilson (AKA the lesser known Wilson Brother)
20:34 "And what the F is this?", well that is a giant purple female pleasure aid.
As for Crocs, the costume designer literally choose them cause they were a new product that they thought no one would ever wear.
26:29 No even CGI, it is mostly old school matte painting.

The hidden gem part of this movie is every single time you hear about Florida Man, or the latest incredibly short-sighted policy decision from politicians, or when the consequences of the short-sighted decision made months or years ago comes due. Then you can point to this movie and shake your head that it was way too close to reality than was comfortable.
