This is one of my standard Laughability lets play videos, I see a moving accessory that should be trending on TikTok.
Today I experience Roblox UGC outfits and faces breaking the rules and ToS and expose them... FUN!

The reason it's animated is because of a visual glitch called "z-fighting". Basically, 2 parts are inside eachother and they are fighting for what will be shown on screen. As you move your camera, the priority for what will be shown changes, which is what causes the hat to be "animated".

Additional info: The "animation" effect also works if you just move the z-fighting parts together.

Roblox has to approve all of these UGC items before they're even allowed to show up in the catalog which is insane to me how Roblox admins can't see clear copyright or clear rule breakers that don't go by the TOS...

I do wonder what happened to the UGC QA team, because Roblox used to be super super strict with UGC, and then one day it’s almost like a switch was flipped. It wasn’t a gradual decline in quality assurance, it all just disappeared in a day
i guess the situation got out of hand and they might be taking action in the future but i doubt it

Actually, in the catalog application, face heads ARE allowed. They explicitly say you can't upload 2d faces but you can upload a textured 3d face meant to replicate it.

Roblox needs to make it so that people can make UGC faces. It breaks the rules, but it is happening because it is useful.

I feel like the reason Roblox isn't doing much about this is mostly that SO MANY people are doing it. By now I bet you Roblox has gotten used to it and doesn't even notice it's against the rules, and that's probably why this is the only video I've seen of someone talking about this.

The hats that cover the whole head or “impersonate” body parts were already there before the “everyone can make a item for the catalog update” so it isn’t that big of a deal
It surprised me when the Chainsaw Head UGC was made by a group by a youtuber who is mostly known for tower of hell, and has a decent following, plus I've watched his videos before when he was just starting to blow up!

That animation thing its actually z-fighting, its a visual glitch in 3d engines where 2 parts are put togheter and the parts surface start fighting to be on the top of each other and show on the screen
Its like when you put a brick, then put another brick and make another color and put it in the first brick and then boom (i think?)
the reason they are available is that, in copyright, it's a very scummy way to get around copyright, but if you just take something and name it something else, it technically is not copyright because it's hard to prove that its yours.
Even with some of the stuff that is pretty much 1:1 with a different name? For example the Astartes/Ultramarines helmet called "Dark Herculian EVA Helm" is pretty much just a Dark Templar of the Adeptus Astartes. (Though I doubt WoTC or Games Workshop cares as much as others would.)
there are 2 other reasons for animations other than "Z fighting" usually they use a optical illusion to make a smooth yet not real "animation" or they make the UGC out of small rectangular blocks with others behind it making them visible at a certain angle, so in one you can see the first frame and while you rotate the camera, it changes the view making other rectangles more noticeable

I think it's good that they don't get punished for breaking copyright, because If the companies want them taken down they would have taken action sooner, so they probably don't care + it's the user's who made the face so it's not roblox's problem + we can cosplay as our favourites characters so.... I think the reason that certain UGC items that look like faces are allowed, is because there either masks, or face looking items that, I think. Are only used in order to add more style over a face. Am trying to say that the faces aren't touching your face, meaning there more of an particle effect.)

I’ve seen a hat with Gengar’s Head, which Roblox actually was told to take down almost everything Pokémon in 2018. I dunno why that hat got bypassed, probably because it had a different name other than “Gengar Hat”.
I noticed a lot of animated accessories a while ago and made an avatar with them, its very cool, i use them for a bunch of scary outfits since im into that. But really, all the UGC copies are really annoying..
