I think the Eclipse will for ever be one of the peaks of fiction or creative works in general. It is such a precise and fitting depiction of what it wanted to show. It is authentic and more original than most things could ever be
I remember watching Berserk and my god.. this scene broke me bad.. I could never feel the pain this man felt or Casca. The way Guts tried so hard to reach her by cutting off his own limb and how Casca becoming a husk. It was too much, Griffith is a demon that deserves eternal suffering greater than what he imposed on them

The 5 members of the god hand (who are demons) come down and in a process called the invocation of doom, they make the person with the behelit into a demon, granting them godlike powers. Guts is the main character, and his best friend is Griffith. After being locked up and tortured daily for years, Griffith is rescued although he is physically and mentally broken. He wishes for wings so he could be reborn again and starts the eclipse. This causes the death of nearly every person in the group that Griffith and guts belong to, and after Griffith is reborn as Femto (his demon name) he basically is a god, and due to being corrupted by power, he captures the person guts loves, casca, (they only recently figured out how the whole relationship thing works as they both have really bad backstories that makes them reluctant to love) and Griffith then r@pes Casca as guts is forced to watch while entirely powerless. Guts cuts off his own arm to escape but against griffiths literal godlike powers he can’t to anything, and is forced to watch as it happened. (Keep in mind, guts and Griffith were literally best friends) Guts and casca are then rescued by a powerful being known as skull knight, but casca has completely forgotten who guts is and that she ever loved him, and her mental state is reduced to that of a child. On top of this, she suffers PTSD-esc flashbacks whenever guts comes in contact with her, so their relationship is basically built up over years, and then broken down in seconds.

I remember I was reading manga and came upon this scene , at first I couldn't believe it , then I put myself for a second in guts place and I said I wouldn't last even a second mentally in his world , he suffered so much.
The 1990s anime still gives the chills, But the manga just hit harder. I had to take a break from berserk just to remember what happened. Never have I went into those chapters again and yeah here I am.

@@MybeNot there’s a shit ton of lore, but as short as I can make it, that red egg is called a Behelit, and when the person it belongs to wishes for something else (usually avoiding death) more than anything, the behelit is “activated” is a way and starts an event called the eclipse. The 5 members of the god hand (who are demons) come down and in a process called the invocation of doom, they make the person with the behelit into a demon, granting them godlike powers. Guts is the main character, and his best friend is Griffith. After being locked up and tortured daily for years, Griffith is rescued although he is physically and mentally broken. He wishes for wings so he could be reborn again and starts the eclipse. This causes the death of nearly every person in the group that Griffith and guts belong to, and after Griffith is reborn as Femto (his demon name) he basically is a god, and due to being corrupted by power, he captures the person guts loves, casca, (they only recently figured out how the whole relationship thing works as they both have really bad backstories that makes them reluctant to love) and Griffith then r@pes Casca as guts is forced to watch while entirely powerless. Guts cuts off his own arm to escape but against griffiths literal godlike powers he can’t to anything, and is forced to watch as it happened. (Keep in mind, guts and Griffith were literally best friends) Guts and casca are then rescued by a powerful being known as skull knight, but casca has completely forgotten who guts is and that she ever loved him, and her mental state is reduced to that of a child. On top of this, she suffers PTSD-esc flashbacks whenever guts comes in contact with her, so their relationship is basically built up over years, and then broken down in seconds.
