Royal Caribbean just announced they will only service the room once a day now. A lot of people are upset, but I think having your room done once a day is plenty.
Once a day? They did it MORE than that? Hell I'd be fine if they didn't at all, though personally having the sheets tucked the way they do is very comfy
Carnival's been doing once a day since Covid and we're fine with that. We choose the evening option so that we have a nice fresh bedroom and towel critter to greet us after our 'evening out'.
Hey guys (and emma), I am not a cruise ship specialist, but i am a engineer on board of other seagoing vessels. I have one remark on the fresh water tip. The reason it is cold is because it has been standing still inside of the pipes inside of the accomodatation which are cooler than the storage tank. So although it may seem like you are getting 'fresher' water from the tap, it is actually water which has been standing still inside of the pipes. I would recommend letting the tap run so you can be a little more certain that the water you are using has been filtered and cleaned not so long ago. You could allways put it in the fridge in you cabin to let it cool down faster I guess.
Emma, your videos are getting so much more professional. You could do a TV show on cruising. Loved your objectivity. I used to love inside cabins because sleeping on sea days was sooooo good.
All right, Emma, maybe you don't read your comments because you get too many of them, but I just ran across your channel, and I simply have to say that your videos are the absolute best around. Sometimes, it's remarkable the talent and professionalism that you encounter on youtube, and you take the cake. (That's an American expression that means that you are the best.) (You probably already knew that.) I have never been on a cruise and I probably never will--I'm an introvert and I don't like being around a lot of people--plus I get very seasick--but watching your videos is the next best thing. You know what your next project could be? A youtube video on how to make good youtube videos. No kidding. Wow. I'm impressed. You are a talented and charming person indeed! Well done! A+!
Ha ha, if I had more time absolutely. I spend most my life making and editing these videos though so maybe in future. Thanks for your kind words. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
"The sun rises a lot earlier than I do." LOL classic! I have never been on a cruise and until I started watching your channel, would have never considered one. It's on my bucket list now!
I always go for the inside cabins because of the price. For me, the room is only a place to sleep. I am usually going to any and all the various events on the ships that I usually don't spend much time in the cabin. Because of this, I can usually go on a cruise for (relatively) cheap.
My first apartment had no windows in the bedroom. I happen to like sleeping in a very dark room, so it worked for me. Eight days on a cruise with a windowless cabin would be a piece of cake for me, especially knowing I could always leave the cabin and go see the outside pretty much whenever I liked.
My wife and I sailed on the Sun for our honeymoon, many, many moons ago. We wanted to stay cheap and got an inside cabin, and when we both saw it we were blown away at how big the room was compared to the balcony cabins. That was our first cruise and we have been cruising ever since, and have yet to see a cabin as big as the interior one that was on the Sun. And as always Emma, FANTASTIC video!!!
I booked the Sun for a 5 day leaving Port Canaveral when money was really tight. It was much more than I thought it was going to be! Pool area is really nice. Very relaxing vacation.
@@susanlange5003 my wife and i returned tothe Sun a couple of years later, and had a great time as well. That ship will always have a special please in our hearts!
I love that you donated your hair. I've done it 3 times in my life time so far, but I'm 65 now and starting to turn more and more grey, so last time might be my last one.
My cabin on my first cruise was directly underneath the Kids Club. I did hear footsteps running around occasionally, but I was in my cabin at night mostly, so the Club was closed, so not a big deal. Being a solo traveler, I was put where ever there was a free cabin. At least it had a porthole, and it was very close to the outside spas.

WARNING! If you do decide to take a cruise someday consider it can be habit forming. Especially when there are great deals on the Caribbean in winter and you live in Alberta.
We had flurries this morning and they are calling for snow tonight (it will be a dusting). I enjoy the Jan/Feb?March cruises when we have snow that is this deep! Have returned and found the parking lot covered and cars snowed in. Boy Scouts were digging them out for just $20. A real bargin from my side of the snow covered car. And we do get addicted quickly to cruising, so be forewarned.
This is so interesting. I have no interest in taking a cruise but can’t help but enjoy the video. I think that’s because you don’t waste any time, you talk about the experience from start to finish and it’s full of information. So many other creators use so much filler content, but you are here giving the people what they come for. Can I ask what camera you use for your action shots such as eating the cookie - or is that just iPhone clarity? Thanks again for making such great videos
In Norway we call such a fruit drink for 'saft' (the squash one)... I guess it can be translated as 'juice'... except 'juice' is the pure stuff like apple or orange juice so if you asked for the latter but wanted the first you'd have to clarify what you actually meant.
Just got back from a 4 night Carnival cruise in an inside cabin. It was less than $50/day for including taxes, fees and gratuities. I love the budget perspective that you provide because it's the way I like to travel!
i am happy when i find 100$ a night here in Europe in Mediterranean ..off course for inside cabin ..and Royal Caribbean Oasis class ..200$ a night for inside cabin..
Thanks for sharing your experience on the NCL Sun. Here's a tip for traveling and at home. It's perfectly fine to connect a USB cable to the TVs USB ports in the back. This will let you charge your device with only the cable. When the TV swings out from the wall, it's much easier to access the USB ports on the side.
I have cruised on Norwegian Sun twice. I also like the cookies but they normally closed the buffet access to these around afternoon tea time. I mentioned this to one of the crew in the buffet and every day following they provided a plate of cookies to me in my cabin. We also had a kettle in our cabin.
I stayed in one of these cabins albeit on a much larger ship. As someone who likes white noise when they sleep, hearing the hum of the ship was actually really nice. I enjoyed it so much so that I actually listen to a Spotify "cruise ship white noise" before bed now. Also going to note I was sleeping on one of those pull-down beds from the ceiling. Some might call it claustrophobic, being less than an extended arms length between bed and ceiling. I actually really liked it. It felt snug and almost like a sleeping bag. Overall, saved a bit of money and got excellent sleep.
I’m a solo traveller, and I just picked and booked a inside cabin on Level 5 on the Sapphire Princess. If I had a balcony I would never leave the room and not meet anyone new. I will only use the cabin to shower and sleep. Why pay for something you don’t need. 🚢
We always just get the inside cabin, whatever costs the least and it has always been super comfy. I don't get spending money on the cabin as we are always out and doing things - even if just reading a book. I would maybe understand it more if you are not going somewhere warm, but still. Would rather spend money on extras like restaurants or excursions and such.
Here we go!! Emma keeps turning me into a inside cabin believer!! ❤.. especially with the thumbnail 😍😊… Great job, yet again & great camera work.. No seasickness when watching the vlog 😁
Thank you again for these videos. Seeing you, the ship, and the sea make an excellent way to wait for my first cruise. I’m sorry to say, as I believe your adverse to heavy seas, but a favorite moment of mine in these videos is the propeller wash on a stormy night. Very reminiscent of leaving troubled times behind to my mind. Thanks again friend.
I love the 7th floor or higher interior cabin - even on 30+ day cruises. Never felt sick, but 10-12 meter waves are the roughest I've gone through. I like balcony's better, but rarely can I justify the price difference, or at least not on my budget. The bridge cam TV channel is really important for me with an inside cabin.
I've only ever had an ocean balcony but these inside cabins look better than I thought. Now if only they would allow kitties on the ship. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Emma, I will be going on my first cruise this coming March. As such I have been watching a lot of cruise videos to learn what I need to know and of all of them you and your content are my favourite, I am learning a lot and I appreciate your work here, thank you so much. I also love your dress sense, very classy.
My wife and I had our first cruise, to Alaska, on the Norwegian Sun from Vancouver B.C,. I have to say we loved it, and it was the cruise that made us want to continue cruising. There was no snobbery and we could get a window seat for dinner if we came early enough. It was freestyle dining then, now I don't know., but we loved it. None of the pretense of Holland America. And we had an inside cabin, with an old fashioned tv. We slept like babies in that cabin. We used the pools even though it was cold out. We cruised in Sept. to Alaska. People thought we were nuts, but we had a lovely time. Just my 2 cents from an Englishman living in Vancouver B.C.
I am so scared of the sea that I can’t see myself ever on a cruise. I also throw up in anything that moves. However, after coming across your channel, I have become addicted. Keep up with the great work and btw I find your voice so relaxing even if you speak faster than galloping horses. Big hugs from Israel xx
Try Meclizine, an over the counter cheap tablet. 25 mg 100 tablets for around $8. I bring it w me for all travels. Never been sick since I discovered this.
Thanks! A trick for the mal-adjusted a/c vent is to use magnetic hooks (which I ALWAYS bring) above it and hang a towel... that will deflect the air...
Love your videos. I’ve cruised in a lot of bad storms. Found that the cabins midship on the lower decks were far better. Very little movement on decks 1 and 2 while the higher decks were getting thrashed. Also tend to be less expensive.
emma, i just discovered your channel and now enjoy it very much... my wife and i have never been on a cruise but now with all the very good insight you provided .. we might give it a try ... take care and happy sailing
Even as an American I am familiar with most of your Britishisms but tonight I learned a new one. Squash. I had no idea. Loved your cat at the end of the video. I am a total cat person! Made my day!
Thank you Emma for your videos. I have not been on a cruise before but since I have seen a few of your videos, I am now considering in booking a cruise. Looks like a lot of fun. Just have to work out the logistics.
Many thanks for all your comprehensive videos Emma. My wife and I are taking only our 2nd cruise (first one was ten years ago) on the Norwegian Sun in April next year so this one was of particular interest.
Emma, wish I could go another cruise, you don't stay that much time in your room, in middle of ship the wave action should be less. Spent a night on a US Navy ship last year, of course no windows, military ships may not see land for weeks, everything is relative, enjoy. Best Ken
We usually get an inside cabin due it being dark when my wife wants to sleep and the cost. The best location for cabins if you are seasick prone is lower decks and toward midship or somewhat aft. The worst is forward and higher up. Balcony cabins for us are generally less appealing. We live in Florida, so sun and sea are available at home. Balcony cabins often have leaky sliders which can be noisy, the rooms are harder to darken. Also the balcony isn’t always that useable due to wind or cold. And certainly for us the cost is not worthwhile. All ships have plenty of common areas with views and outdoor access.
I'm retired from the USCG and inspected my share of cruise ships. We never put one of those whistles in our mouth. We had the crew do that. Semi related comment - I've seen behind the scenes on various ships from various lines. They are always well maintained and spotless.
I love that you donated your hair to charity. My dear sister had cancer and she lost her hair and had to wear a wig from donated hair and it looked great and natural. Unfortunately she lost her battle and passed at 40 years old.
A good hack is to always have a US/UK power converter, so you can use both of the outlets if there aren't many. The USB on the back of the TV often works as a charger as well! :)
My wife and I had one of these cabins on an 11 day cruise from Southampton to New York, we loved it! Although you are absolutely correct that doors in the room just swing open when it’s a bit rough outside!!
@@carolhuff1109 Is so nice meeting you here am originally from Lens France but I currently live here in Michigan, how is the weather over there in the States where you're.
Small cabin for sure Emma but 2 people could make it work! I'm glad to see the cabins on that ship were freshened up. It must have been fairly recent. Nice cabin review.
Emma, brilliant and very informative video. Also nice to see the handsome Mr. Hudson's cameo at the end. Remember, he has to share you with us, so he wanted equal time as you were not paying proper attention to him while recording the video. Thank you for sharing him with us. He is a very handsome cat.
Another consideration with inside cabins is elevators we learned this the hard way. On a lot of ships if there's a passenger elevator quite often directly behind it is a crew/service elevator and passageway . that cabin that looks good backing onto an elevator can end up horrendously noisy as you actually have a crew passageway against your wall .
Hi Emma! I was delighted to be able to say hi to you on this trip. (I spotted you in Spinnaker one evening.). An idea for you - NCL has a great solo traveler program that some people might find interesting. I travel solo all the time and have met new friends on NCL. On this trip we met lots of Brits and were able to introduce some to an American Thanksgiving.
Heyyy!!!! I'm actually just scripting my video about the cruise and mentioned about the solo meetups in the spinnaker, seemed great!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Good review of the Norwegian Sun. I was on the exact ship one month ago going to South America and the Panama Canal. It was very clean, my inside cabin was actually larger than yours, and a good value. I travel, mostly for the ports and to experience crossing the Panama Canal, and then secondarily the cruise ship itself. So I was very pleased with my adventure. The buffet on this ship was actually significantly smaller than three other NCL smaller ships I was on in 2023.🌹
I tried an interior cabin for my last cruise, and well I was very surprised in good, because I felt very well there. So from now on I think that all my cruises will be inside, because if you think about it, you don't stay in the cabin very long and you get the same service as the balcony cabins, so I prefer to do more cruises than to have balcony cabins
Thank you so much for you videos, they are entertaining and informative. I have found that few magnets and a lite weight pillow case hung a foot or so in front of the A/C vent will still allow the air to flow but not on you face while you are sleeping.
You mentioned that, on an inside cabin, you can't tell if it's 3am or 3pm. I agree, but to me, that's a benefit. You sleep SOOOO good on an inside cabin.
I was in an inside cabin on this ship in 2011! Back then it was sailing out of Canaveral (and you could see it there on Google Earth). I think the rooms still had the darker carpet then, and definitely didn't have USB sockets.
As a marine engineer, having a inside cabin actually reduces your seasickness. And if you don't mind the potential noise from the engines, having one on a lower deck will reduce it even more. This is because it reduces the relative motion you experience. Although to be fair, I have heard claims that being able to visually see the terrain going past from the car windows is helpful, since it aligns your inner ear fluids with your eyes. But I suspect this doesn't help much on a ship, since the ocean is flat and featureless.
NCL is my favourite cruise ship ♥️♥️ They look after solo travellers really well. I always get an inside cabin as I like complete darkness when sleeping
12:55 - We visited Gibraltar on a Holland America cruise last summer. I have to say that Gibraltar was definitely a highlight. Really great cruise stop.
I loved your upbeat summary on this cruise cabin, Emma! We don't mind those interior cabins (heck, we are on a CRUISE and hopefully saving some $$) but those balcony cabins are SO nice as well!! Much love and Happy New YEAR!!!
I did a Royal Caribbean cruise in 2000 on the Nordic Empress. A ship very much like the one you describe here. We too had an inside cabin and as I only used it for sleeping, saving the money for other things was a good choice.
That sounds like the perfect cabin for me - particularly the aircon. But I am easy, all I need is a bed and access to the ship facilities. I love it proper dark when I sleep, so no windows is important; the aircon blowing on my head is a huge bonus. 😎
This looks like a really decent inside cabin. Totally agree re: the sofa - on my cruise on P&O Azura last week, I realised how much I missed having somewhere to sit other than just the bed!
Hey Emma. This was the smallest cabin? Not bad considering there was a mini sofa. I was on the Norwegian Gem 2017 in an inside and it was soooo small. Been sailing balcony ever since. Agreed. When the space at the side of the bed is tight, twin set up is better.
I did the same in October on the Enchantment. Loved it. Right behind the bar at the centrum. I could feel the pounding bass every night into midnight-ish. That's the only thing that might put off some people. I was 4881, dead center of ship. Easy reach of everything.
I’ll spend the extra money and get a balcony.I’ve only been on one cruise and it was nice to be by myself and drink beer and watch the sun go down.Or drink beer and watch the sun come up.

Wow, seriously yr a lifesaver!!!!!!
That applies not only to seaships. It also happens in homes.
This is not a concern on cruise ships because cabins are using water all the time. Toilets. Showers. Sinks. Water is moving all the time.

Thanks! A trick for the mal-adjusted a/c vent is to use magnetic hooks (which I ALWAYS bring) above it and hang a towel... that will deflect the air...
Great tip!
Love your videos. I’ve cruised in a lot of bad storms. Found that the cabins midship on the lower decks were far better. Very little movement on decks 1 and 2 while the higher decks were getting thrashed. Also tend to be less expensive.
I love your content Emma. I look forward to every upload, thank you!
Thanks so much Dan. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
emma, i just discovered your channel and now enjoy it very much... my wife and i have never been on a cruise but now with all the very good insight you provided .. we might give it a try ... take care and happy sailing
Thank you for the video! It certainly looks like a pleasant cabin.
Best Ken
Hey Emma, Thank you for sharing, I enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
11:06 I appreciate the visual aid of showing various kinds of squash!
Just my current stash, ha ha. I don't normally have so many so thought it was good timing! :)
OMG! The outside of the ship so beautiful love the colors ❤️🎄🎄💚❤️❤️💚🎄🎄💚🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻💚❤️❤️🎄🎄💚❤️❤️💚🎄❤️🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻❤️💚🎄🎄❤️❤️💚🎄💚❤️🎅🏻🎅🏻
I have never been on a cruise but this was really interesting. Plus: You’re so pretty. 😮
My wife and I had one of these cabins on an 11 day cruise from Southampton to New York, we loved it! Although you are absolutely correct that doors in the room just swing open when it’s a bit rough outside!!
Love your kitty! Mine is a black cat named Bernard aka Bernie. He thinks anyone who’s coming to the house is there to visit him.
Hello Carol how are you doing,
where are you from?
@@Lucaangelo252 United States
@@carolhuff1109 Is so nice meeting you here am originally from Lens France but I currently live here in Michigan, how is the weather over there in the States where you're.
@@carolhuff1109 Good morning to you,
how was your day going so far today ?
Luca Angelo I am not interest. Please stop!
Lightning bolt sweater, awesome! You've definitely got taste for fashion. Happy travels.
Congratulations on the quality of this video and its contents. Been watching for sometime and it's great to see this channels development.
Thank you :-)
Another consideration with inside cabins is elevators we learned this the hard way. On a lot of ships if there's a passenger elevator quite often directly behind it is a crew/service elevator and passageway . that cabin that looks good backing onto an elevator can end up horrendously noisy as you actually have a crew passageway against your wall .
Great review of a "guarantee" inside cabin!
I thought you normally cruised in interior staterooms for the cost savings, though?
I do love my daylight alarm. I recently had to move into a room without a window and having the light from the clock really helps.
Hello Lucy how are you doing,
where are you from?
The buffet on this ship was actually significantly smaller than three other NCL smaller ships I was on in 2023.🌹
I love your videos. So informative and always spot on
Your channel is awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Excellent video, Emma; very detailed and informative. Cheers!
I hearts your videos! Thank you for the inspiration
You mentioned that, on an inside cabin, you can't tell if it's 3am or 3pm. I agree, but to me, that's a benefit. You sleep SOOOO good on an inside cabin.
Inside is ok, but prefer the Oceanview. Don’t need a balcony but really like having the window! Thanks Emma for another great video!
I've stayed in 7314 on the Norwegian Sun! We were only in it for one night and then they upgraded us to a balcony room because the cruise was so empty
Nice! I’ve cruised on ships only 23% full but never had an upgrade because of that so you got lucky 😀👍🏼
❤thanks for the honest review. our family has been thinking about disney cruises. the kids are getting older but a cruise still sounds lik fun.❤
As a crew member. I would spend 6 months in an inside cabin with a bunk mate. Totally doable. It’s kind of like a cozy cocoon.
NCL is my favourite cruise ship ♥️♥️ They look after solo travellers really well. I always get an inside cabin as I like complete darkness when sleeping
I upgraded to a balcony cabin on my last 5 day cruise. But the weather was so awful I never even opened the door. I'll just stick to inside cabins.
Love those inside rooms, dark and I sleep like a baby. If you're spending time in your room your missing the cruise fun!
Thanks so much. To you too! 😁❤️
Great video Emma. I almost always travel in an inside cabin and because of your recommendation, I have a sunrise clock. Love it!!
Yay!! So glad to hear that. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I though you were a fan of inside cabins in your early RUclips days ❤😂❤however, fantastic video as always.
You’re always so entertaining! I love your accent !
Took the Sun to Cuba and we had an interior, our room was gigantic compared to newer interior cabins. Absolutely loved this intimate ship.
I could listen to you talk all day every day 🫣🤗
Thank you! 😁❤️
Yay I have a word for squash now!! We bring them on cruises as well!!
Have you tried turning your TV on to the bridge camera while you sleep? It stays dark all night then lights up the room as the sun comes up.
Excellent and professional review. I love your videos.
