It really helped to evaluate positions more logically when deciding on an attacking plan. I think I still need to watch chapter's 6, 7 & 8. I got insulted with 'the most coward ever' yesterday after a hippo game by my opponent that lost 😂😂
Man, what a nice line! I've played the KID for years, and recently fell in love with your Hippo course. This is a nifty way to deal with that transposition, that I honestly never thought of! I mean I've seen ...c5, but ...e5?! Nice!!
Very interesting! I like using the Bishop & e-pawn battery to put immediate pressure on White’s center & either opening or locking it up, clarity has Black figure out where to develop his pieces & his pawn breaks. Bravo!

Be2 +1.37 There is also this interesting line where white takes advantage of the open d file and plays 1. dxe5 Bxe5 2. Nf3 Bg7 3. Nc3 Ne7 4. Be3 d6 5. c5 O-O 6. cxd6 cxd6 7. Bc4 Thereby saddling black with a permanently weak d pawn.
English attack set up with 2 pawn center leaving the knight on g1 to allow f3(or f4 if black meets h5 with g5) absolutely destroys the hippo. Absolutely destroys it. Have yet to find a satisfactory approach from black. Commented before, but no feedback. If you see the comment this time i would appreciate your input. E4 d4 nc3 be3 qd2 0-0-0 f3 at some point if needed and launch the h pawn. An approach that easily gives an advantage so much so that i consistently see it vs much lower rated opposition. All white has to do is pay attention to the order at which he makes those moves considering blacks ideas, can play that set up like a checklist

I play the modern defense but never heard of the neo-modern, I am excited to try it out!
Really enjoyed this vid. Love the idea of being able to transition from the Modern to Hippo, KID or Pirc. And sometimes a combination of the above.
Love this new idea which can be used as side weapon to the hippo! More games & ideas are welcomed!

22:30 as King's gambit player yep the the King’s gambit is bad, but y'know in blitz it can be fun some times, in classical i would not dare to play it
