Once you get over the excessive gore and shock humor, it's a very well written story with fantastic characters, and every actor plays their role perfectly.
It’s realistic, that’s why. If we actually had superheroes I doubt they’d be all good and morally right, the amount of deaths is probably would happen-personally why I enjoy the show, because they’re looking at superheroes through a real word perspective considering a lot of people in power are messed up.
I can't rewatch it not bc of the gore but bc of just the deaths in general like it's a lot more of a one time experience for me even tho I REALLY like it. It's just that all the actors in the show are really good so it feels a little more real plus the effects are insane. Everyone making the show is just doing really good and it makes me nauseous

I saw a fan comic where Superman, Homelander, and the Powerpuff Girls fight each other in life and death. Superman just pulsed Homelander's hand and threw him out to the sun to save Blossom.
What a coincidence that they started watching this series just today when the first episodes of season 4 premiered. Believe me, the brutality has no limits once you start watching it.

I’m really glad the show tries to steer away from Garth Ennis’s more crude imagining of super heroes. In the show when A-Train runs through Hughie’s girlfriend he’s obviously shocked and horrified but he can’t stop because he’s making a drug delivery. In the comics it just happens when he’s fighting a villain and he’s just like “Shouldnt’ve been standing there”
The show is consider a "black comedy", meaning it uses very dark humor that, at times, you don't know if you're supposed to laugh at it or not. American Psycho and the Ghost Stories English dub also fall under this.
I'm sure a lot might know this already, but is still awesome to know that they casted Simon Pegg as Hughie's dad (a character that if I'm not mistaken didn't exist in the original comic) specifically because Hughie's physical appearance was made in the likeness of Simon Pegg
