Hello, welcome aboard. I too taught myself to cross stitch. You are doing well as a beginner. This is a great craft/hobby. You do need to be represented as a newbie. When I started there were no really novice stitchers represented on RUclips nor in the stitching groups on Facebook. I do stamped and counted. I taught myself using the stamped and then moved to counted. I work on my projects based on mood and attention span. Sometimes I can't focus on counted. Anyway enjoy this hobby. I love it and am surrounded by WIPS and projects to start. Your Stitchy Friend Cheryl

Thanks so much Chery, and I agree 100% I couldn't find someone that I could learn with because everyone seems to have been doing it for at the very least a few years. I just came upon one that I started but am putting to the side for now until I get somethings worked out. It's White Aida with White floss and it's so hard to see so I don't miss count and I've been getting a little frustrated so I will take another stab at it a little later this month.

I loved your video. I agree…. Stamped is not cheating. There is no cheating in cross stitching. If your stitching and enjoying it then it’s stitching! I love your Fox. He is adorable.

The hard part for the bee is the counting. Frustrating to go and forth checking the pattern to make sure it is correct and unpicking after you realise hours later you’ve miscounted by 1 or2 squares. It’s not harder to do but more patience and focus to work on it vs stamped where everything is already mapped out and you just look for the symbol to stitch.
Love the flosstube. Love that there is someone else who also loves stitching, diamond painting and adulting colouring making videos to keep us company while crafting away. I stopped stitching for a long while due to age and glasses that were overdue for change. Just got new glasses and your videos are making me itch to finish my WIPs now. Thank you for sharing, keep them coming.

Thank you so much, and this is 100% correct. You have to be so much more careful with the counted cross stitch, but the more I do it and practice the more I love it. Right now I need to learn the lingo like 2 over 2 and the different stitches I literally have no idea, but slow and steady wins the race. 😊

@@Crafty_Susie try to learn hacks to stitch faster or to keep the back side mess free. Do what feels best for you, what is reccommended may not always be best. Like i hate hoops and never use because i dont like to see over stretched cloth and it makes my style of stitching slowdown by alot.
Here’s a hack to share. You didnt have to cut the strings in half to make it shorter. If it calls for 2 strands, just pull out 1 strand fold in half and it becomes 2. To secure on cloth pass the looped end thru the cloth, then put your needle with the 2 tail ends thru the loop and pull to secure. Its super simple, fast, mess free and no ugly knot balls or tail ends to hide in the cloth.

I purchased some pinking shears to cut my fabric. This helps to avoid fraying. :) Love all your wips! Great job your first floss tube!

You are doing great on all your x-stitch projects, especially the counted ones! 🍁🌻 PS: I think that darker stitch on Pooh's face/forehead is his eyebrow 😉.
