For real. I got a bimmer, learning about the engines and how to fix them, and I didn't even know wtf this was. But I guarantee it costs more than other shit on the car. 😅
I Rebuilt top end when it happened to me then decided to do an engine swap. This sucks... Catastrophic engine failure. Plastic sucked into engine/valves. $$$😢
@@marshallhewitt222 About 102,000 when it failed. Another 40k miles I replaced the whole intake. I've heard intake runners you can hear when they are ready to let go. Bought intake used, inspected disa valves, no more death rattle 40k miles later.
@@javierhernandez215 but if the disa valve breaks and a piece gets sucked into my engine then its not. also with a tune i can get slight HP gains but probably like 1 hp
@@ClipBallerr I bought a fix kit, like 4 years ago it has worked good so far but yes if worse comes to worse then yes delete is always better. Good luck in your swap and happy New Year
Be thankful that didn't get sucked into the engine

@@Riddem79 it’s a bottomless money pit deeper than hell! Lol but if u get the bad shit fixed BMW’s are sick machines
Man you're not lying bro, lol. But once you get them situated and stay on top of the maintenance, they are smooth cars. I love my 2007 328i

That's awful. May I ask at what mileage the DISA failed? Maybe I could do a premptive repalcement.....

Mine got sucked into the engine too. Just fished the parts out and no problems😎
Love the plastic in my engine
Да,нужно быть внимательным к этому узлу,скупой любит платить больше😢
Wheres the pin?
Seems like an aftermarket one??
They all give out after a while. They were only made to last a certain amount of miles.
I want to do an m50 manifold swap to remove the Disa valve on my e46
It's a 100 fix, cheaper than the manifold and gaskets and who know what else.

Surely the pin got sucked down into the engine ??....
Nope
Lucky guy ..
Typical BMW the mechanic has it 90 percent of time of ownership 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅.

Kind of true, but this repair is covered by dealer for free, sulev car
I don't see the rubber rim seal on it either. How can that even happen?
@@Zeitendo you have to be in a sulev state?

Is the N51 SULEV motor more reliable than the N52?
@captainmorgan5449 it is pretty much the same engine, and I would pick n52 since it doesn’t have all extra smog related equipment
Plastic and heat bad combination
Fuck this. My engine is rebuild after this shit
Aka disaster valve
