Just recently beat the game. This song always gave a sense of hope at the home base despite how absolutely hopeless things felt in the story. Really the entire soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal, not just this. Hell the entire game is a huge step-up from the first. The story, the character interactions, the soundtrack, the gameplay re-balance, the UI, Otsuu and Little Mermaid are the absolute best couple hands down it's not even a competition, Hameln and Gretel really get to shine due to how early you get them compared to the first game, and that ending man. No spoilers obviously, but it made me cry. If a story can make me do that, that's how I know it's something special.
This game has a fucking glacial start, with so much chatter and so little space to go with builds and exploration in the first chapter. But I was hooked once the game opened up, finally shutting the fuck up and letting me plan my own trips. This is a top-tier home base theme. I'd get my ass kicked in the aquarium, but then I'd hear this while sorting through all my blood gems and planting/upgrading new gear, and it felt like I'd make it through next time.
Honestly, the one thing the game f*cked up on royally was the art budget. Whoever is the artist should've got the lion's share. It would've added hella character to the story.
@@smoqueed44I can’t believe it’s the same artist as mugen souls. They really hit their stride with Mary skelter artwork they did bother giving us every single blood maiden having one bonus cg scene in events at base bur yes I’d still like more
Mary skelter 2 has a pretty good OST. Here because I’ve been playing the game on the switch, since I got the Japanese version..absolutely got no idea what’s going on in the story but I’m well aware what the entry is about anyways after reading the Novel for MS1, either way I’m loving it..lol...oh well will be playing the western release either way just wanted to get it physically...shame the limited edition for the switch version is a bit lacking compared to the ps4 version.
Finally finished the PC port of this game, loved it to bits. This song was so nice to listen to while switching up gear and skills for my blood maidens. It's a shame that it swapped tracks whenever you went to the shops or other facilities.
Well, you're in for something then. Varnir probably has the weakest OST of all compile heart games. Just look at Death End Re:Quest and obviously the Neptunia series and you will be blown away. OSTs are actually one of the strong parts of CH games. The other being the ingenious stories they tell.
Huh why is the song called that? BTW I finally bought this game and have enjoyed it for what I played and like always with compile heart games I underestimate how good the story is and then fall in love with it later on happened with neptunia death end and dragon star.
Because it plays in the Hameln Liberated District. The English version of the game just drops that particular detail, aside from coming up in one scene, maybe two.
@@skydragonslashu I think it wanted to show how strong is Hameln since she KO'd the nightmare that chase them in true ending by herself at last moment, but kinda sad of her last sentence

After playing Dragon Star Varnir(my first Compile Heart game), I was expecting this game to have an eh soundtrack
BOY WAS I WRONG
Take a look at Death end re:quest bro.

There’s a physical copy on Switch with both games on one cartridge but it’s only though limited run games
Yea I heard it about Imma pick one up cause I doubt they’ll rerelease after that.
The digital eng switch version have both games, although the first one is a remake on there with a different ending.
