post war people were used to making do with whatever they had. Particularly repairs to clothing - hence the collection of spars including buttons. when they threw out old clothes they'd cut the buttons off and save them...
My don, year out of the army. ( in for 7 years) sent me a picture of his evening job..... darning his socks !!! Wasn't a good job, but he was trying 😊.... he us 27yrs old .
@@alison155 I still have my sewing kit (small roll of pockets) called 'the housewife' I had during my time in the Army during the seventies. Yes, it still has an assortment of buttons and threads...
"Stylus", would be a needle for a record player.
I was just going to say that. Lol.
Hey Matt! A stylus is the needle on the record player. Good Stuff!!
Another great explore in an old home. It’s neat how certain spirits remain behind.
When the two of you share a joke or laughter? Don’t ever stop, it makes us smile and feel like we’re part of it.
Thank you for sharing this and take care until next time ♥️🇨🇦
😂🤣😂 Matt….you made me crack up when you pointed to the small rubber “cheerios “ as you called them….there were some on the sewing machine too…they are actually for castrating lambs! There would have been a gadget they went on then stretched did the job of castrating or over the lambs tails so lack of blood flow would make them drop off ….
Sorry boys! Obviously your in a property that had some livestock. My husband and I had a lovely radiogram/record player like that one you showed at the start…was a lovely piece of furniture, and held so many LP and EP records..the radio was good too! Was shouting at you to read the song title/band named from the EP’s! But you just gave the record company name! 😢 there was some lovely pieces of China on the shelves…I can’t bear the though of vandals coming in and trashing it all.. someone treasured all those things, it was their home, even the socks left drying. The red vented cupboard on the wall was what we called “A meat safe” back in the day..pre fridges! Kept flies off joints of cooked meat etc.
Hooks Def not strong or high enough to hang smoked ham etc on….but good idea!
You were calling a picture on the wall a dinner tray, but if you looked you see it’s got a woven edging….often for physio therapy people who had been unwell back in the day, or convalescent were given a picture board and would then thread small wooden strands through and gradually weave them all round the edge 2-3 times to raise the side. This could then be used as you said a tray, or were sometimes sold off at a sale of articles made by these people. But some who kept them often had the idea of hanging on the wall as a picture,as here.
Matt those fires are electric not gas I love when you use the spirit talker 👍👍👍👍
Fascinating indeed, but simultaneously makes me sad. This was a person’s life. God bless. Cheers.
Lovely home. The little white cup on the shelf with the spout is to feed someone in bed with a drink, an early day nursing beaker.
Never would unsubscribe! You're awesome,Matt😂
Such a beautiful idyllic scene i could live there in a heartbeat..it will be interesting to see what happens on the inside 😮 see you on Sunday with all the answers 😊 xx
Amazing old place guys...If walls could talk eh.. shame it's slowly decaying, it could be made lovely even though it's so small.👍✅
The stairs remind me of my great cousin Percy's home out in the Norwich countryside.
The stairs are original….you don’t think aboit it, but people used to be much smaller years ago,,.notice the height of the door frames! So the trapdoor in the floor corner in the bedroom was to get the bed frames larger furniture up through, as it wouldn’t have come round the corner at the bottom of the stairs. I’m laughing, as I moved from a cottage built late 1800’s that had stairs like that….think I only slipped and fell once in 20yrs.
Someone mentioned your birthday Matt? If so, many Happy returns! I appreciate how respectful you both were to the house and contents, which as an older person I reall appreciate 👍. I’m Thinking of haunting anyone who comes and trashes my home contents when I move on!! 🤣 by the way, was the electric still connected there? Looked like you had lights on! Take care, stay safe! 🙋♀️🥰👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🦉🦉
Thumps were creepy but the biggest mystery is … how did they get that wardrobe up those tiny stairs? 😂 See you next week💕
The box was for the needles, for the gramophone, now l feel very old
Enjoyed the explore boy's the cone shaped piece was used to put Holy water into and usually hung by the side of the bed,the nursing home i worked in had them. Great time capsule and interesting. On the newspaper it said something about Barrymore and the pool incident and that was in March 2001 ❤ The picture in the scrapbook was Lewis Collins from the programme The professionals a cop programme 😊 The fire in the living room was electric the cable was lying on the hearth .My Aunt had one of them. Xxx
its not a gas fire its electric so no click click click
Enjoyed that Matt, you & Josh are great when you do videos together, thank you. Love you
Loved the explore tonight thank you Matt and Josh cant wai for the next one ❤
Loved that retro eighties little old house!
The cone shaped wall piece would have been used for cut flowers 😊
This is the whole of someone’s life and sad that nobody is there to take care of it. When I was a child my dad was in the American Air Force and we were stationed in England at at one time we lived in a cottage on a farm. The farmer was a nice man and let us play with the animals at times. This house reminds me of that old cottage. Such good memories. I think it was birdrop or burdrop park or something like that. I was eight years old at the time. (a long time ago) I could swear I heard talking upstairs. I heard the footsteps but it sounded like someone running. Thank you Matt and Josh for another wonderful video you have a great rapport and you give me a smile and laugh at least once in each video.❤
Looking forward to watching this Matt 💕
Wow, old & decayed. Lots of real old things. You both are a great comic relief! 😂 Love your videos. ❤

Brilliant watch. This place had so many interesting things. Very much enjoyed as always 😊😊👍
Looks great Matt 😊 Can't wait 🎉
Great investigation Matt ❤👻
Back in the day people kept everything like buttons or fabric from worn clothes, because there was shortage and lack and they could use these things to sew new clothes e.g. Or they would untie/unravel (I don ´t know the proper word) old pullovers to use the wool to knit a new one - that all was very common, because wool and fabric was high quality and valuable 👍🏻Noooooo! At 17:00 minutes: that’s not Tom Jones, that´s Martin Shaw, an actor who starred in „the professionals“, a crime series from the end of the 70s 🥰 two or three pages before that page, there ´s Lewis Collins, an other actor from „the professionals“ . Seems like the couple was a fan 😉 24:25 the 1/2 was withdrawn from circulation in 1984 👍🏻thank you for this exploration🎉
This was a great explore. It brought back so many memories. We had a sofa and armchairs just like that, only the colour was different. My mum had a Singer sewing machine just like the one in the house and she made lots of our clothes on it. Thanks for this I loved it.
Rats in the walls...
Thanks boys that was cool just chilling in the lounge.
Brilliant video Matt thank you for taking us on such an amazing journey, I love all the content you post it’s never disappointing. Massive happy birthday for tomorrow and I hope you get spoilt rotten ❤️🎂🎉
Thank you matt and josh bless you both excellentxx
she said sorry about the sofa its full of crabs
Diamond stylus is the needle to play the record. Sometimes you need to replace them etc. My grandmother use to sew and buttons were hard to find in the depression so they saved all the buttons when they didn't want a shirt or coat etc. Then they'd have buttons for any you might need if you lost a button etc. Also, we use to love to play with grandma's buttons. I must admit, your videos are pretty quiet. I cannot hear the sounds and noises that you hear. I've got my sound turned all the way up and I DO use headphones. Thanks dude!
Love this one .. actually Love them all ! So respectfully explored I really enjoy the humor together !! The bog !!
Back scratchers and bog lovers!!
A lovely home! It felt peaceful in there. I enjoyed this explore very much!
Thank you both, Matt and Josh! 🤗🤗❣❣
Great Video!! Thanks Matt! ❤
Another grand explore! Near the beginning, at the stereo, the small blue packet marked 'stylus' was a replacement needle for the record player.
Great vid love the way you talk to those past like there still here just invisible think that’s lovely xx ❤ keep it up xx love it
Sounds great xx
Please always do the bathroom's.. all equally fascinating to me. And kitchens.. cupboards and any food.

Hi Matt & Josh . We’re watching this now in Australia 🇦🇺❤
Thanks guys another great explore and interesting history .😁
That was a lovely place - great explore, thanks guys!
Those hooks in the kitchen could be for hanging herbs, and some of the hooks like in the living room could be for hanging plants
🕸🙇♀️”..Amazing guys, the place filled by vintage Stuff! I love it. Some Art work touching my heart, especially the News cliping album .. I’m imagine the times when She’s make it . And now it just abandoned. I think they’re love to reading very much”
Matt Another Great Explore, Loved The Older Tips from Mary Ellen Pages,Also The Interior As Of Course Topping of With Epic Paranormal❤
Its an electric bar fire apparently not a gas one but dont worry i get things wrong sometimes too. Great tour of the house and enjoyed watching. Those stairs were narrow indeed.
Josh your a very good explorer too. I injoy seeing you and Matt together. God Bless you sweety keep up the good eork. Gid Bless you and keep you both safe
Hi Matt & Josh, sunday is a date😊👻
The micro diamond is/was used to play the records. It's the actual "needle" that sits on top of the record that"reads" what has been recorded.
great job, you two! Absolutely love the explores with josh!
The styles is the needle you put in the arm on the record player to play the records, would love to know what the records were who was singing/playing in them.
Stylus is the needle that goes in the arm to play the record 😊
That's one great old house full of the belongings as well really old inside really good explore and as that spider 🕷️ was a big in the retro kitchen god 15p for kit kat must of been old box every thing was amazing to see you should not having to prove your self was good paranormal sounds was another good one buy u two again 👍

P.S wonder who Charlotte was as I don't remember the name from the sympathy or birthday cards. Thanks for sharing Matt and Josh 👻🗣️
Fascinating one 😊
Hey.. take in a huge car battery next time.. they could manifest big time!!!
Hi Matt the stylus box is for the spare needle to the record player.
Looks like an electric fire not Gas, you can see the cable and plug coming out of it laying on the floor.
The needle for the record player would have been in the box
Interesting knocks! Shame they couldn’t have made them louder! 😣 have to say you both give me a chuckle! Some of the faces Josh pulls are meme gold 🤣
Angelic voices. So peaceful ❤
Micro diamond stylus is the needle for the record deck.
Great explore 🎉 some good responses to investigation 🔎 🎉
Great video, Matt and josh. ❤
Great video Matt can’t wait for the next one.
HEY GUYS I BELIEVE THE FIRE IS AN ELECTRIC FIRE WITH FIRE EFECT BULBS THAT FLICKER AND MAKE IT LOOK LIKE FLAMES ON THE BACK PLATE WHEN WORKING.
You two are nutters 😂 u always make me laugh. Cheers from the States 🇺🇲
I'm loving being a subscriber
4:57. Stylus is the diamond tip type needle that goes onto the vinyl record that actually makes it play. It goes over the groves in the vinyl record. It is placed in the end of the handle and then the handle is places on the record. They are not always diamond they can also be made of metal.
Lewis Collens and Martin Shaw .not Tom jones😂 from the TV show the Professional
Stylus box I'm pretty sure would be holding the record needles. To play the vinyl.
Nooo.. that pic by the toaster was 80s at most.
Eggs the redbox was for i was thinking then the eggs leaflet was below it.
I definitely heard the double clicking.
That little chest for jeweler but look like all missing ps .... That Queen Mum
The fire is electric not gas it has a plug😅😅
