It's cool how Oliver looks almost entirely Viltrumite by the time he's an adult. Nolan was right to say Viltrumite DNA is pretty dominant, you can't convince anyone that late on that he's half-insect. Baffles me that Viltrumites care that much about breeding policies when nothing they spawn looks like the other species by adulthood.
It mostly strength wise that they care so much, Oliver as a half viltrumite whose other half is something not resembling a human is just going to be significantly weaker versus every other viltrumite that was born from two compatible partners. Ex. Oliver, even if he survived would never have been as strong as Mark as time went on.
@@Acceleration50yeah, he would've died in 10-20 years max with some good fighting skills at that age (and maybe live to 100 but look like a mummy if the viltrumite DNA goes on steroids)
@@Acceleration50 I think this is shown later on when mark takes on a hoard of bug-viltrumite hybrids and when they try to attack him they just die on impact
it comes down to weaknesses. as we can see with Mark, despite being half Viltrumite, he's not nearly as strong as other pure breeds his age. that being said, strength isn't the only thing he lacks. Nolan is able to fly through space for weeks on end without stopping to eat, sleep, or drink water whereas Mark would need to stop once every few days since his human DNA would require him to do so. while at the end of the series, Mark is left standing as the new emperor, it was not an easy road to get there with people like Battle Beast and Thragg giving him a beating that nearly killed him more than once. it's because of these weaknesses that Viltrumites are so heavily against anything not full blooded Viltrumites

Ngl oliver dying to thrag was just bs, we've seen both omni man and mark have more serious injuries than this and it was stated that viltrumites can survive mostly any injury as long as their heart and brain was in tact (or if they have been torn limb from limb eg head seperated from body, unless thrag destroyed oliver's heart in that blow or this doesnt applies to oliver due to him being half viltrumite half pokemon i doubt this wouldve killed him
The brothers are having the Batman argument. But the thing is, there are some people that have to be killed. Joker is one of em. Some people are completely uncompromising or so far gone that morality is all out the window.
Funnily enough Oliver is not only proven right but Mark begins to take his advice on killing. Completely different from Batman and his relationship with Jason/Damian.

For anything is threat gets plot armor as well to allow him to escape after I felt attempt to kill Omni man. Threads given reason for letting them live was so that they could produce more milk for mites which ironically something that he himself did when allowed to let live

There's a difference between liking and agreeing with a character. I like Oliver because he helps develop Mark in his own ways, but I wouldn't like his veiw points. I like Jack Horner but as a character, he's shitty.

I think what Mark should have done was admit out loud and to Oliver. That he didnt mean to kill and he lost control and deeply regrets it. But in the moment he was unable to confront that and folded in the argument. I don't rhink this woyld have stopped Oliver from first acting out but it would plant a seed for every time he does.

It seems like there easily is could be more variation on Marks/Nolans than Levy claimed. Any where either or both chose to delay conquest, subvert vitimite conquest from inside, minimize death in process, try to keep earth as free as possible within Empire rule, etc would probably look the same as conquest to the non powered Levys native to that universe. As alternate Levys have no power so there would be no reason to inform them of what was happening behind the scenes, plus in the show it would barely be into the conquest phase. Since most any realty Nolan and Mark are on Earth, imply a similar Empire history, so means they are outnumbered and at least have to look like going along with the plan or the Empire would just attack them and almost surely devastate the population of Earth if not wipe it out completely. In some ways it would make more sense if the broadcasts we saw in the show were insincere, and more for something to show the viltrimites, than something they actually thought would stop resistance or convince humans their side was correct.
The question is how many years did Nolan spend in outer space before he ever came across that planet and found himself a new wife and knocked her up with a new child and now Mark has a little baby brother

Heck mark is Gohan but if Goku didn't hit his head and lived a double life pretending till Gohan got stronger. It's the perfect blend of inspiration and innovation. Very consistent with what viltrumites are and their behavior as well as inclusion of many new interesting ideologies and aliens.

Letting them live made perfect sense. Viltrumites are a proud species and Thragg knew that killing 3 viltrumites would lower the likelihood of viltrumites being able to breed a new population.
