I don’t yet have complete freedom of forgiveness towards those that hurt me but I’m working on it. I find peace and then later I realize i need to lay the bitterness down again. I have to stop myself from going down the rabbit hole and repeat that I forgive them and bless them in the name of Jesus. I hope the Lord accepts this while I’m still healing 😢
Corrie ten boom, who was a great Christian woman who went through the Holocaust for harboring many Jews, wrote about having to forgive those who tortured her in the camps and caused her sisters death. She explained forgiveness like a church bell. The bell rings so long as you hold that rope and ring it, but forgiveness is letting go of the rope. The bell might still ring, but so long as you don’t grab that rope again, the ringing slows down, it gets longer and longer apart, until at last the bell is still and you no longer hear it anymore.

This vision is conformation of my vision I had in 2015, I was at work and my building deli was closed for the day, in the vision I was heading outside to go across the driveway to the other building with a deli, as I was coming down the steps I noticed I didn't have any shoes on and I noticed water under my feet, I noticed to army jeeps with men with riffles guarding the jeeps, as I came out of the other building getting my lunch, I walked behind the jeeps, there was cutouts in the back of the trucks full of people, the guard told me I had to get in the front seat as there was ko more room in the back. I told them that I was returning to work and they told me no I have to come with them, so I got in and they drove off, we were coming to a building that had fence around it and it was a brown building that looked like a Walmart store but no name on it. They started to back the truck in and it was on a slope, as I turned around to see, I noticed there looked like a underground entrance. When they opened the door of the truck, I started running and they said come back here, we need to identify you and then I woke from the vision
Yes, we can't hate nobody, but that doesn't mean you have to approach or be close to people that is in tbe church and mistreated you and don't practice Jesus law, just pray for them, read 1st Corinthians 5:9-13, we cannot eat we that people, we need to be far away from them, throw them from your lives, is in the bible😊.
with forgiveness, I will think I've forgiven... but then something happens and it stirs it all up and I get angry again... but is it just hurt from abuse... or have I truly forgiven... I can't tell...
It is hard. I am working through this too. When this happens, I stop the spiraling thoughts digging me back into the angry hole and I tell the Lord “Lord, I feel angry again. But I’m choosing to let it go bc vengeance belongs to YOU, not me. Again, I forgive them. Bless them, Lord, and bless me. Please give me your peace.” And then I move on with my day. Do not allow Satan to sew any more seeds of bitterness. Take authority.
Sometimes, I think we must FIGHT for our forgiveness toward others bc Satan WANTS us to lose that battle and end up in hell. Jesus said to forgive 70 times 7 (as a hyperbole, basically staying As many times as it takes). Many times we think of this as someone who is a repeat offender, constantly doing injustice to us and we constantly have to forgive new offenses for them. This is true. But I believe it also means the internal work within US. As in, if the original offense keeps rearing its head in our thoughts, we must stamp it down again by reaffirming our forgiveness, 70 times 7 times, or as many times as it takes.
If the person that hurts you is from the church all you need to do is pray for them, you can't be close to people that mistreated you, is easier to forgive the ones that are not in the church, read 1st Corinthians 5:9-13.😊 with the people from the church that mistreated you, need to be far away from them, only pray, not hate them.😊
Luke 14:19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen and I am going to test them, I ask that you have me excused. What will you say when invited to the supper of the Lamb? Will you say my career has finally had a breakthrough and a promotion, or my college degree is a priority, or my hobbies are keeping me too busy for a supper. What ever we make paramount over Christ will make us unworthy of being a disciple for Jesus.

TRUE FORGIVENESS is when you pray your enemy gets saved and blessed by God. That's how to know you've really forgiven and let them and the hurt GO
