Please let Don know that the Bumblebee movie is actually a reboot to the series. It was intended to be a prequel but it was changed later on to reboot the movie series and Rise of the Beasts is obviously the sequel to BB
I know you keep complaining about how he doesn’t talk in this one either but they make a point throughout the whole movie to show how he progressively learned how to speak through the radio and personally I thought that was really sick

That would make no sense. They make a point to show how he figured out to speak through his radio in this throughout the whole movie and that would be impossible to really see how he did it if they waited till the end.

Still to this day this might be the best Transformers movie, at least when it comes to story and character designs, but that's just a matter of subjection. The opening alone is the definition of PERFECTION as those are the original G1 design based on the original cartoons which many fans adore. I also really love Bumblebee and Charlie's relationship in this movie, very much reminds me of Iron Giant

So to better understand this movie you have to know is that Transformers originally started as a cartoon in 1984 and ran until 1987 and also included a movie in 1986 (which you should definitely watch) The original series is often referred to as G1 One thing that a lot of people criticized about the Michael Bay live action movies is that basically none of the characters look like they do in the original G1 cartoon. Megatron, Ironhide and all the others actually originally looked very different from how you saw them in the live action movies The Bumblebee live action movie is a soft reboot that ignores the previous live action movies and is set in it’s own universe. And in Bumblebee they use the original G1 designs of the characters which you saw at the beginning of the movie which is why they all look a lot more blocky.
After the original G1 series there came a sequel series called Beast Wars in 1996 in which the descendants of the Autobots and Decepticons, now called Maximals and Predacons, travel back in time to the Stone Age and crash on earth. Now they transforms into animals instead of cats and planes and stuff. Megatron (not THE Megatron, this one just named himself after the original) is a T-Rex and Optimus Primal is a Gorilla. And obviously the live action movie “Rise of the Beasts“ which is a sequel to Bumblebee, is a reference to the Beast Wars series and works kind of like a live action crossover between G1 and abesst Wars If you decide to check out any more Transformers series I would recommend the original “Transformers (1984)“ series, “Beast Wars“ and “Transformers: Prime“ Transformers: Prime is considered to be the best modern adaptation of Transformers by many people. So maybe start with that one before getting into the older stuff of which not everything has aged too well

Bumblebee is definitely a major step in the right direction after the last knight. The robots actually have characters, as well as clear, distinguished designs, and there is a clear respect for the source material

Michael Bay ruined the image of Transformers. Removed the heart of the characters and made them into little more than big robots that blow stuff up. Bumblebee brought us back. Rise of the Beasts went back into the Bay-ism a little bit, but still kept a good amount of the heart.

I can't see him." comments, but I digress.) Side note: Many people speculated that the Decepticon that ripped out Bumblebee's voice box was Starscream, but it's actually a Decepticon named Blitzwing, who was classically a triple-changer. (A Transformer with two vehicle modes, plus their robot mode).

This is the movie that is the closest to the original cartoon show. Charlie is the original character and at the end Bumblebee parks at the car lot next to his next version that was in the first Transformers movie
The Michael bay transformers movies end after the last knight, bumblebee is the start of a much needed reboot, transformers rise of the beast follows bumblebee and the designs in bb and rotb are more accurate to the retro tv designs which is another plus
