OMG, I have been waiting for you to make a Pho video!! For Pho, I always get a shank because the broth needs that earthy, bone taste to it. Yes, the ox tail is expensive, but it's so flavorful and yummy once cooked down in a pressure cooker! You might want to grab some tripe and tendon at H mart to add addition texture and flavor into your pho bowl. I get all my beef meatballs, herbs, pho noodles, bean sprouts, etc at H mart in Lynnwood! 1 stop shop for all things pho. You can make your broth from scratch, or you can find some pho flavor powder. Can't wait to see your pho video!!
Looking forward to your pho video! It’s so delicious and comforting. The oxtail gets soft like roast beef, I like to suck on the collagen, and the fish sauce in the soup just hits the spot! And the herbs are so refreshing!

Those coconut waters go on sale for $9.99 in the summer! Sooo delicious!! Trader Joe’s also has a coconut water that is pink and tastes identical. Loved the video, Benji!

Benji for my pho I use ox tail and beef ribs, of course you have to have the Vietnamese beef tendon meatballs and Vietnamese pork meatloaf in the broth. Then top it off with crispy pork and herbs and bean sprouts
We use beef bone with marrow, beef neck bone, beef flank (sliced) for pho. If they dont have beef neck bone, we use beef back rib. We use oxtail for bun bo hue. Don’t forget the pho meat balls :)
I guess I am going to Costco today for butter and hopefully, Ox Tail! That’s a good price.
The best pho I’ve ever had was at a conference in Seattle. The pho around here doesn’t come close.

If you have a choice on butter, always get the unsalted. Unsalted is the better quality butter. Salted in butter helps improve the taste

For the pho, you can use any beef bones! I personally use beef ribs !

Wine - you can try the Sterling brand it’s from Napa Valley! I know they sell it at Costco.. just not sure if it’s there in Seattle
read the wine Is description. If the description sounds pleasing To the palates. More than likely the wine will be good. Most stores and I'm pretty sure Costco does have a description of the wine.

When you do the oxtails Pho, do not use the oxtails first or it'll disinergrate. put it when when you made or broth. could be instant or use beef/pork bones. you could use a whole chicken. its a fun dish. after you start realizing you can add or use less, its not complicated. My Cajun husband loves it when we make it. I am asian just to say, this guys started to add almost everything he thought it would be good with. Oh yeah roast your onion in a tin foil where it get a bit burned and put in the broth but dont let that fall apart. it adds another complex to the soup. When its done you can discard it but my man slices it and adds it into his bowl.

I am telling you… ox tails are meant to be eaten!!.. you need other bones for the broth. I’ve never cooked pho but they use beef bones, and I guess pork as well. I’m looking forward to your pho adventures
The wines in Spain are really cheap, the max amount is about 10 bucks give or take
Go to Evergreen Asian Market in Everett! They have beef bone specially for soup, like Pho. Pick the ones with the bone marrow in it, it makes such a big difference in your broth! Also, they have thin pre sliced beef for pho, noodles, meat balls, and the dry herbs for your broth.

You definitely need ox tail for Pho. Also be sure to add cinnamon. And eat it with lime and hoisin sauce. Also don’t cheat and not add bean spouts. My mom makes pho and it’s the best. She even adds homemade meatballs she makes herself.
