Holy crap your Microphone! It's so much better, doesn't sound like a robot anymore. Funnily enough I've been daily driving my XL Platinum, and I had forgot how much I loved this platform. I definitely need to replace the brushroll as it still has the original white brush, but even with that it still does a great job. Funnily enough too I almost put out my review at the same time but ended up reviewing the Dart instead. Great video!
Changed my allegiance to David’s Vacuums after hearing how the buyer of Oreck violated its agreements and fired employees and closed the plant here. David Oreck went back into business before he passed away. Service at that store has been impeccable for the last 23 years. Changed its name from Oreck to David.
@ - Thank you for filling in more of the story. That doesn’t actually sell things for the original employees and the original factory that is now useless. But it’s a little bit of a fix.
Pretty fair review. My late grandmother had the Elevate Control for a month when she decided she no longer wanted it. Before I returned it to the Oreck store in Hendersonville, TN, I took it for a spin in my house to see hoe well it performed. I actually was impressed; it did great on my rugs and floors. I ran it in lower speed on my floors and it seemed to pick up well enough. I think they groom better than the standard models, and I love the HEPA bags.
The Elevate vacuums are pretty much glorified facelifted Oreck's from the past. The Control being based of the original XL Classic, the Command being based on the XL21 (and XL Platinum), and the Conquer being based on the Platinum Pilot (or Axis). They're still great vacuums, and although they may not perform as good as the Riccar Supralite (Simplicity Freedom), they are much more refined sounding compared to the Tacony guys.
Hi question for you. I have a Miele Delphi… do you know where I can order a seal for the bag compartment. I know the make it for the home care and want to add it to the Delphi if possible
The specifications and cleanability are the same or within the margin of error. You get a better warranty at better price from a more ethical company in Tacony. This vacuum has a swivel neck & sound insulation as well Riccar has yet to implement these almost 20-year-old features now.
I’ve gotten rid of every Riccar I’ve bought so far for various reasons but I bought one XL21 Pro sixteen years ago and I still have it along with the two Miele Pure Suction canisters and the Sebo G4 upright that I expect I’ll have forever. For some reason I just keep finding something wrong with every Riccar product. I didn’t even consider a Babylock sewing machine. I bought a Bernette instead when I wanted to make myself drapes a Roman fold shades after the experience I had with Tacony vacuums.
I love these old style upright vacuum cleaners. Perfect for the millions of suburban tract homes that blanket the country. My #1 improvement would be if Oreck would be to use 21st century technology to make these vacuum cleaners whisper quiet. It's a vacuum cleaner. It's not rocket science. As of now, the Oreck sounds like a beached whale.
As long as you’ve got a straight suction canister vacuum with a full array of straight suction tools to go along with it you’ve got everything you’ll ever need.

0:03 Hey, the greetings RUclips intro. is back! Love it, love it, love it sir.
I like this newer design as well. Seems they actually did make it somewhat better.
My XL21 is still in service and performing great ! Use it every day ! I'm going to miss the 21 year warranty when it expires later this year.
I still have an XL21 I bought back in 07 new that is still going strong.
Amazing to here! Thanks for watching.
2:00 Purple bags.....the colour of Oreck royalty.✅
Great review! Useful, succinct and well edited. Will be looking at one of these for sure!

There is a lot more to that story. Fun fact TTI who now owns Oreck employs more people in the US then The Oreck family ever did

Thank you so much for this video! I love Orecks, I have an Oreck XL21 and it is a great vacuum cleaner! Thank you again!

Picked one up for $129 at homebuys, actually really enjoying it.
Can't beat that price.
We love our oreck
Which vacuum is better. The elevate or the discover?

Did you get new carpet in your house? Good machine and a great review
I moved to a different house.
Question is it better then the Riccar/ simplicity super light you know that one I mean 😎 ? Suction airflow and agitation wise?

These are $200 on Woot right now. Worth buying?

@@LlyleHunter Agreed. These simple uprights are design masterpieces. How do you improve a spoon? The only thing is... make a silent motor!
