The look and feel of the arcade 1up was perfect. If they make a machine just like that but with bigger playfield it will be home run. The machine still sits to low to. Taller players will have to hunch over.
The A1up's looked fantastic, particularly in pictures. But in real life, a ridiculously small playfield for a 3/4 machine. Still, it's too bad A1up gave up on vpin. Very tall people at a disadvantage on nearly all 3/4 cabs....
Wish the DMD was 16x9 instead of 4x3 (a little bit wider). That's the last little drawback that I think could be improved. Love their changes though. Can't wait to get mine! ❤
Yeah, the skinny DMD's are sweet (it's what I have in my build), but I can understand going with a more standard (and cheaper to buy) DMD. Let us know what you think when you get yours!
I hope all those who did the preorder get their machines on time and a quality product that’s not rushed. If ATG doesn’t deliver what they promised this will be the nail in the coffin for them.
Well, I don't think they'll ship something that's jank. It is the first gen of the 4K, and obviously there will be fine tuning down the line (that's natural). I think they've already told people that there might be a slight delay in shipments because of these new (cosmetic) changes. Time will tell....
Yeah, but the reality is that support for the HD ALP is probably going to slow to a crawl (at best) moving forward. So yeah, if you're interested in getting some more games, probably now is the time.
@@evilgeniusentertainment I own almost everything they've released for ALP (minus the Dr Seuss and Data East packs). Not sure if I linked the purchases to the Machine or Login ID. I do know I can't play any of them if I'm not logged in. From what I understand, their support can change the association. I'd like to keep my Coin-OpsX flash drive working as long as possible. The day it stops working, I gut it and install a real playfield screen.
On Cue Ball Wizard we figured out how to get the eight ball Black again over at my channel. Great vide. I always like your content. Can I drop a link for the 8 ball fix?
Good and informative JDV. I’m disappointed ATGames is dropping CoinopsX, but understand their reasoning. I won’t update my ALU anymore so I can continue to use it. I think the ALP 4K looks much better but I’ll stick with my HD version for now. Maybe another cabinet release will make me jump in, but not Addam’s Family.
Price point your right they are trying to stay within in certain price point but cost of a little bit larger dmd when bought in a large quantity the cost would be minimal.
can you do a video on how you installed VPX and how you got your virtual pinball machine to run on the machine you built I have the HD but don't know how to get all them virtual tables to play
Steve, you know as much as I know now. I'm guessing the next time we see the machine it's in the hands of those who pre-ordered. I'm sure it'll get fixed; no technical reason it can't be. Zen's on it, and AG knows it's a big deal. But of course, only time will tell.
Bigger DMD = more expensive, and I think that AG already has an uphill battle with pricing as most people are casual players. I do tend to agree about having the Addam's Family marque - I'd rather have be blank, or just a name plate. We don't need the graphics....
Riser ???? I am talking about the pinball machine. The design of the machine is whacky. Is it better then ALP yes. Is the design better then a real pinball or arcade1 up pinball no. What I am saying is this. At games should just have built the machine in the design of a traditional pinball machine with a 32 inch playfield. Not sure why you think I am talking about it having a 24 inch screen. All I am saying is the design could be better. The huge yellow logos are ugly.
Do these new changes make you more likely to buy the new 4k ALP?

I’m subscribing for this quality AtGames pin coverage. Thanks.
Hey JS, thanks a bunch! I appreciate that!

You gotta wonder at what point ALP HD won't connect to their server without doing the firmware upgrade.

I concur, AG's need just a little nudge in the detail/programming dept and we the consumer would be sound as a pound.
They are making clear progress in both and -realistically - are still the only game in town in any event.

Of course Papa! I'd like to know how to do it too! Thanks for stopping by.....

Thanks Mike! Yeah, in a way it's surprising it went on as long as it did. I'm looking forward to the next tables they release too....

Check out my series on how to build your own vpin, but that's actually the next one to come (should be out in the next couple of weeks).
You never actually addressed the flipper lag on the Addam’s Family title. Any update?

I know I am saying build one in the style of the Arcade1up. Just give it 32 inch playfield. Make it a larger version of the 1 up.
I'd like at a least a 39" screen honestly.....
Riser ?
The front of the machine needs to have higher playing height. Make the cabinet larger or legs a little longer. Not a riser lol😂
Needs a different skin rather than Addams Family.
Supposedly 14 more branded cabs coming down the line in '24 & '25 - so hang tight! I wonder if they'll announce them one by one, or batch by batch....
Get rid of the stupid marquee. Move up backglass and give us larger dmd.
Add launch button for games use buttons launch
