I worked for Homejoy . For my cleaning test little wads of toilet paper were hidden behind toilets sinks shower being shampoo bottles etc. light fixers. Got all of them by the way and became MASTER CLEANER . That is a great trick.
I have had that experience, and I always won the hide and seek game. One client used to hide coins under the mats, other was hiding makeup or earplugs in between or under the pillows on the couches.
LOL. House cleaners hate the tests, I do too. That said, I silently wondered what would be hidden for me at the houses that routinely did them. Bobby pins? Safety pins? Cotton balls? Pennies, Toothpicks? I fill out my worksheets and leave the collection of the findings on the top. 👍👍👍
I’m ok with their test. Now, are they willing to pay for cleaning details. Note, it’s not just cleaning. Detailing some of those things are ok, if you work per hour but not by job. Or it’s part of the contract.
I believe some test with cash but I do not believe they test with hundreds. You would have to be beyond stupid to use hundreds when you could use one twenty. I don't believe your story.

Angela, u should know that I can't get enough of your lessons. Thanks so much.
This is funny. I have often thought, "Am I being tested?" I may have been!
Thank you for sharing your comment and thanks for watching the video.🙂
Wow, I would never dream of testing a house cleaner. But then I knew the one I had was very honest and thorough so i didn't have to.

I own a short term rental. I do check after every cleaning. I don't do any tests. But now you are giving me ideas...

I was a GM of a 24 hour restaurant and put a sugar packet behind the tea maker, it stayed there for a week until I cleaned it. 🙄
Yikes. I hope you were able to remedy the problem.

It's not a test really if you look at the half full side of the glass.
It's a way of earning respect and trust.
