Lenses for the GL690 are available on Japanese ebay sites, although one has to be choosy about their condition and be prepared to pay $300 to $600 for the good ones. More for the 50mm. The lenses are excellent and the image quality from the 6 x 9 negatives beats the other roll film formats hands down.
What a great video. Seriously. I've been shooting analog for a few months now - the typical story, an attic find from grandpa's camera. An old East German Praktika L. Now I'm looking for a film camera that I can enjoy even more. I'm not (yet) interested in the image quality aspect. It's more about handling and a bit more technical comfort. Seeing your journey to the right camera was really inspiring and I can understand all your decisions very well - regardless of whether I will make them myself later. So thank you for this great video and the work you put into it. P.S. I am 46 years old and have never written such a long comment under anything in my life. But I had to do it here! Dankeschön from Germany 🙏
Some really nice photographs! After going through a Mamiya 1000S, Contax 645, Hassy 500 c/M, and a Rolleiflex 3.5E, I finally settled on a Bronica RF645. Of course I still have all those other MFs but they’ll eventually be sold except for the Hassy, I think.
kind of funny how I knew it was a Mamiya 7 cause I'm on the same boat, but man, I really can't afford that rn haha, I'm happy with my M645 and RB67, I just wish they were lighter.
@@KylersFilm I know! That’s my dream camera probably as well, I’m not too into rangefinders, but the size is just undeniable! About the RB67, me biceps and forearms have gotten bigger no joke 😂
I have a closet full of cameras and don't use 99% of them. But I like knowing that they are here. lol if I gave you a list, you'd feel just fine. Great vid!
Just Aussie things I guess. While editing the video he becomes very interested in why the dog on the screen is crying haha. He's never in pain, just bored haha!

Thank you for the incredible comment. I hope to hear from you again soon as you continue on your film journey!
I’ve got a GL690 and am always amazed by the quality of the images. I managed to get hold of a 65mm lens which is great for street photography 📷
I wish I could get one of those 65mm lenses but they seemed to have been all scooped up before I could grab one! Sounds like a killer combo!
Miss those days, jumping off the playhouse backward and then running it backward so it looked like we were jumping real high!
Good times man!
@KylersFilm S/o to the creepy house! If you know, you know.

I still have yet to try a TLR! You're right too. I could be benefited by having a couple extra cameras around haha
@@KylersFilm It’s fairly compact and light, a great walk-around camera. If you’re back in the Bay Area, you can have it for a few days.
Very cool! 🎉 Enjoy the camera and panos! Cant wait for more

It really is astonishing how much convenience can cost! I can't even imagine what it would be like to lug around the rb67!

I’m so proud of you ❤

No shame! As long as those cameras are safe and sound I'm in full support!
which camera did you use for panoramics?
All the photos are taken on the same camera.
Great video bud
Haha your dog does the same thing mine used to do. He'd cry anytime we stood somewhere too long. Must be an aussie thing haha.

@@KylersFilm True that! Loved the pics btw, Jake's a real one for providing the Superia 200. Love that stuff!
Hmmmmmmm ??
