    Hi! It’s been awhile since you’ve posted a video so I hope you still go on RUclips and read comments! 2 quick questions:
    What food brand and type do you feed your shiba?
    And do you leave your shiba out when you leave and when it’s time for bed now that he’s older? And what age did you allow?

    I have a 1.5 year old shiba and he looks just like your shiba Hatchi. Your Videos are very helpful.
    Do you have any tips on how to train him to be off leash and outside without running away for a long time ?

    My Shiba, Loki, is 4 months old now, had him since he was 2 months. He only chews his toys when I'm in the flat. But if I leave he goes crazy, chews wallpaper off the walls, chewed a hole in the mattress. I want to give him more freedom when I'm not there, I don't like only giving him the kitchen, but I can't trust him anywhere else. What can I do in terms of training other than tell him off when I see what he's done?

      hey i got a new shiba puppy too and my puppy is the same! Sometimes very calm and biting without harming and then sometimes agressive biting. How is your puppy now? Has it changed and what do you do in that case? I try to calm him down but sometimes he gets really wild and just wont listen.

      I have a 14 month shiba and he did the same thing all the way up to year 1. Its very common, when he got really bad, give me 3 no”s and if it doesn’t work, put him in crate for one minute, and repeat a couple of times, they are extremely stubborn, dont let him win, or else they will ride that all the way

    if trained correctly, is it just a puppy phase of chewing when left alone for 6 hours or is that the breed?

      MrHanky35 teaching your dog ins and outs as well as giving him/her attention. Don’t allow excessive excitement. Keep your dog calm when necessary. Own your space and put him/her in an uncomfortable place sometimes to see how they behave. Consistency is key just as a kid. Great leader become great companions to animals

    What do I do if this is still happening after a year and a half old and at night while we sleep when I can’t keep an eye on him.

    I rescued my Shiba when she was 2 years old, is it too late to crate train her?

    Our shiba Axl is just over a year old. He bites everything, including me. At times, he’s aggressive with me but not my husband. To the point where his bites hurt and he gets so worked up when I say “no biting” that I find it difficult to pick him up to put him in time out. Are there strategies you can suggest for me to try with him?

    I just adopted my second shiba when she was 10 months, she is now about to be a year. She picks up everything she see's in the street and is extremely possessive over the items. Just today i got bit for taking a stick out of her mouth and this is not the first time. I did not have this issue with my shiba I raised since a young puppy, which i can take anything from. What can i do to fix this problem?

    Could I put the Shiba into a play pen type thing if I need to leave for a while?

    • @rshierjr
      @rshierjr  7 лет назад +8

      yes that would work but i recommend a crate though so that you dont come home to accidents like pee and poop Shiba Inus are very clean dogs and dont like to soil there own areas and a crate is an awesome tool for all aspects of training . thanks for watching and your comments

    Haha. My Shiba Inu is named Hachi. He makes the same noise. But not a pup. I have two. I’m lucky they don’t have to be left for more than six hours. I love the breed.

    A water bottle filled with a few treats keeps them occupied for a very long time too.
    My Shiba had a whole collection of them he always played with. They love trying to figure out how to get the top off. lol

      Kong with frozen wet food inside works well too...as well as food dispensing toys.

    • @bort-
      @bort- 2 года назад

      @@the-dashing-d6046 They can choke on anything. That's why you gotta supervise them even when you give them treats. Only thing I give mine when I'm out of the house is a Kong full of food.

    My Shiba is 6 months old. She chews everything including the joints in between my floors. There has to be a way to get her to stop.
    She drives me nuts.

      We got a flat tote for our shoes, and she's not a fan of cyan. Its messy, but it does help. I'm glad we don't have carpet.
