- You might have seen a shag rug painted green to look like grass turf before, but it always still kind of looks like... well... a green rug! With a bit of simple freepainting however, you can transform it into realistic looking turf that will look great in a little garden.

When the video started I was so confused why u were showing us how to paint a rug green. I was thinking, oh I guess he's gonna start doing basic tutorials for beginners now. Then at 0:36 I realized this was more than that 😆. It's crazy it really looks like grass

Thanks! Unfortunately there seems to be a limit on how many it can render the texture on at once though so you might not be able to do something really big.

Unfortunately there is a limit on how many it can render the texture on, so it might have to be very small!

@ Not sure. I think it's like 16 on Xbox but I tried on Steam and didn't manage to hit a limit so it might be different.

Super impressed by this vid, only problem is loading the pattern to the other rugs is crashing my game every time on official pve. Like it so much though i guess ima do it by hand for all six in my hatchery

How do you even use "thick" and "thin" brushes? o.O Never really bothered with the brush other than get the regions right tbh.
Oh and I have a trick for you. You might now it tho. Place down a stone foundation than place down a wooden foundation right next to it lowered by 1 step (don't change it's look), then if you place a large crop plot on the wooden foundation and snap a greenhouse ceiling to the stone foundation (repeat it a few times), you'll get a "garden" that looks like it is flooded. You can't hide the sides unfortunately on the ceiling, but parts of the crop plot will stick trough the glass which from a distance looks dope. Might be good for swamp bases or some exotic gardens. Alternatively you can use adobe ceilings and make it look like a desert garden.
I started a project based on Semiramis' Garden with these and it looks really good in my opinion. You can easily open the crop plots, so it doubles as a "greenhouse" too. Except the extra percentage tho. Also I think you might be able to incorporate this turf in it too. Not sure about that tho.
There's instructions on screen for brush thickness. Sounds good pal.

Idk if they updated the brush its way more difficult and the strokes of the brush arent as visible also when loading the paint gotta do it for each individual one and paint it. On your video youre just clicking and its applying it automatically idk if you cut that part out but i have to do this to 200+ rugs

I can't I'm afraid. I only have steam ark through Geforce now so can't access the files. It's really easy to paint though, you don't need skills.

Any luck easily tilting foundations on a raft? Been trying the pillar fence foundation trick but it's all wonky. I need vertical foundations in all directions.

I don't think I can because I only have steam ark on GeForce Now so can't access files and stuff. If someone else can remake it and pass it on to me I'll upload it. It's super easy though, you don't need to be good with a paintbrush.
