  • There was a question raised on avsforum if the LS12000 projector was true 120Hz output capable, and not just 120Hz input (but only 60Hz output). This slow motion 240Hz motion capture on my iPhone 13 Pro strives to answer that question. Yes. The Epson LS12000 has 120Hz output. Consider that while I'm recording at 240FPS slow motion, you are watching it back on youtube, at 24FPS, or 30FPS, or even 60FPS, so you'll have to consider you aren't seeing the full 240FPS original video capture, but it should be enough to see the difference present and validate that the projector is truly 120Hz capable. It's super easy to prove in person, just by that first test -- moving the mouse cursor around in tight circles as fast as is possible on 60Hz, vs. 120Hz PC desktop. At 60Hz the mouse cursor visibly jumps to your eyes, at 120Hz the mouse cursor is much smoother in motion.

What do you think of the 12000?

I personally liked it better than my JVC RS2100 I owned both since launch. I sold my RS2100 last week and am keeping the LS12000. A lot of my preference has to do with its better motion and lack of PWM. (Steadier image)
