From north-central Kansas. The longest time that I ever had a coyote come in to calling, was 52 minutes. I knew there was at least 1 in the area, because it had howled back to me when I had opened the stand with a pup howl (approximation of 1, on a cowhorn howler).

That coyote thought it was being cautious and smart enough, but not quite. Your patience paid off.
