    Ted "Titch" Plews is I think my late fathers (Arthur Plews) nephew. A lot of my family worked the mines including my Grand-dad who's son (I think) is Jacks father. I also remember an Uncle "MIFF" George Olford he worked with the ponies. I still visit places that my father showed me like the SScastle(fan house), pit top on Barnaby moor and the powder house.
    Thanks for a great vid It makes me so Proud that our iron is all over the world,in railroads and bridges including the Sidney Harbour bridge.

    Another Gem! Living Social history. Captures the lives of the workers who created the wealth Britain had. Loved the question asked of the miner : Where was the canteen? Typical of todays mind set not focusing on the graft but the downtime!
