This is probably one of the most heartbreaking interviews under 5 minutes.
And the shooter now wants his mommy, makes me want to throw up.
I couldn’t agree more. “How do you return to normal life after this?” My heart goes out to everyone who has to live with t he trauma of this event. I am so incredibly saddened:(

Yes. The impact to her life is forever. I witnessed a shootout 20 years ago and I still feel afraid when I remember. We were pulling into the parking lot of a store when police pulled up all around the building and an exchange of bullets began between them and the criminals that had hidden in the store. If we had been a few seconds sooner, we would not have been able to back up and get out of the range of fire. A few minutes, and we would have been in the building. It was 20 years ago, and even that comparatively safe situation traumatized me. I can't imagine the lifelong suffering that comes from being a survivor in a situation like this one. People who live without trauma have no idea what it does to your permanent mental health. And this is just one kind of trauma. PTSD can destroy your life. I hope there will be sufficient counselling and support for these survivors.
I was crying along with this lady. Heartbreaking to hear abt her friends & close customers. Her bravery of protecting a girl. Loosing a life just for doing your job. I’m sorry Boulder.

He wasn’t going in their for a murder suicide or just spraying people with bullets he went in there and meticulously killed all 10 of them with purpose. I mean the first guy got shot and he went over to the man already shot and shot him again 3 more times

Her account is so heartbreaking while so explanatory and vivid of what it was like being there at that moment and how hard it is to be there afterwards. My heart goes out to all the victims' families, friends, and etc.
And it starts to snow in the middle of this heartbreaking interview, what a sign, it makes it even more profound.
These were KIDS who will not have the opportunity to ever live their lives. Are we truly the greatest country in the world when we refuse to find a solution to a problem that can easily be solved? Is the love of money and power the greatest American ideal? Let's be very real, this isn't about 2nd amendment rights. It's about profit from the sell of guns, death, fear, and private prisons.

VP Kamala Harris should invite this young lady to the White House to speak on her account and be a part of the solution to America's gun violence. This young lady knows how to simply help others understand what it was like in the moment and what it is like in the after-math.
What's left behind is awful. I send you love and healing, Emily Griffin, and hope that you may at some point, go about your day, and not feel that you have to hide under a stairway again.
Emily, I don't know if you will see this or not. it will take time a lot!! try and remember all the good things about them. I can't put myself in your place or know how your feeling. I'm still in shock over this too. I work in grocery store too and just cant imagine it happening here my payers are with you to heal over all of this though okay.

@@Amy-un6oh.... After seeing so much gun violence it makes a person feel sick to their stomach and not want to see any of it. I've seen way too much as in the 90's from gang violence, people literally getting shot in drive by's/ shoot out, etc. Plus I saw gun military violence, from people being shot, executed in the streets in another country when I was young. Pretty much got PTSD from it. Hate guns now. My father was robbed by gun point at night when I was little too, shot multiple times then left behind a car wash.

Aloha to all. This is the store where I used to shop. I lived half a mile away for several years and lived in Boulder 16 years total
I lived in areas where I heard gunfire all night for 15 years, I've been shot at numerous times, been actually grazed by a bullet 1x. What will happen is you get very callous and unsympathetic in a big way.
This was a senseless crime nobody deserved wants happened to them I hope who ever did this get the same amount of mercy that they showed everybody that day
So sad and heart broken, I feel the deep sorrow for the victim's family. She is right about going back to work and relive the tragic shooting events. As for the gun man, I hope he got the punishment he deserved. Why go out to the public and shoot others and taking someone else loves ones. Go get your mental health fixed !!!
God this is so heartbreaking to hear her story. My Daughter and 4 of my grandchildren work in a supermarket with her. Fear something like this could happen to them too! " God", please watch over them with their-" Guardian Angels" also!

NEVER go shopping without a Gun in America
I wonder how many people don’t realize that just because you have a gun doesn’t exactly mean you’re capable of reacting in this type of situation. And too much gunfire can make a lot of things worse. There would be confusion, more casualties, more injuries.
I can't believe all the other businesses locked out the people fleeing from the shooter. Such a supportive community?
I heard an interview of an employee at Murphy's Grill. They were instructed to lock the front door and then hide in the back. Then police came by and yanked on the front doors, to confirm all the surrounding businesses in this giant shopping mall were compliant. Please be kind to those of us in Boulder now with what you post online.
That is the SOP for all active shooting training. Close, lock, or block the door. Go to the back and stay quiet until the police gets there. Please stop spouting hateful retheroric to get clicks.
It’s the same thing we do in school shootings. You have to lock the doors because there will be more casualties that way. It’s protocol. There are a few ways that this kind of stuff could be better prevented from happening, but people are a little too obsessed with their guns

Its so nice to know that America is back to their regularly scheduled shootings.
You move on, one day at a time, to honor them.
This is how every inner city kid feels when cops shoot down their friends or other altercations end their buddies life on some corner next to where they live. It’s rough but she will be okay as long as she sees a way to do better in life and live because death was so close to her.
Not every inner city kid is okay after those kinds of experiences. A lot of the ones I know have a lot of trauma that affects their everyday life

In that he continued to shoot the first guy, it makes me wonder if that guy did something to set him off. Because that overkill reflects extra hatred. Maybe a racial slur, like the relentless ones he endured at school. And maybe he followed that guy to the grocery store... What he did was horrific, just so awful Even so, our world should take some responsibility in that we don't take care of (and protect) our ppl, ALL of our ppl. Especially our children. We'll continue to create these "monsters" if we don't at least have an ongoing, high-priority system in our schools, teaching our children how to NOT ignore their emotions, and giving them multiple ways in which to express them in a healthy way. Art, music, writing and ppl they can truly trust, so they can freely talk out their issues. You have to start teaching emotional health to our children early on. And make justice happen in SCHOOL. Relentless harassment and stalking, and bullying, it would be a crime in "real life." Well, it should be. Yep, there are many factors as to why this keeps happening. We often don't see real justice, and so many feel hopeless. Often the kid is already traumatized per childhood abuse from the home... Human beings are pretty sturdy, but most of us still have a breaking point.
