This is very fascinating. I had no idea what the charter member or members only meant. I bought the Barry Sanders when I was around 11 at a show and I remember the guy telling me it was a prototype, I've thought this ever since.
To be fair it was kind of a promo, so he wasn't completely off. I had a 1991 Derrick Thomas Members Only since probably 1992 that I treasured as an "I don't know what this exotic card is" piece of my collection. Man I was excited to get the rest of the...set.
I used to be big into cards in the 90’s and then life got in the way, but now I’m going through my boxes I found a few basketball ones from 1993 that are blank on the back. Are these of any value compared to their counterparts? The ones that are with a completed back?
I'm not familiar with any cards from 1993 with blank backs as a variation. Usually that means it's a misprint (the sheet only got printed on the front or back) or a test-print from the design/QC process. What set are they from?
This was very interesting. I purchased the hockey Members Only in 1995, the last set they made for hockey, as you indicated. How much do you think the entire set is worth? There are 225 base cards, and a total of 283 cards which includes Nemeses, Extreme North, and the others.
Man, I love those metal cards, I just wish I had something to do with them. Too many awesome cards. Wait, wait, almost enough awesome cards with too little display space.
@@sportscardprofessor I do love this content though. It brings back memories of going to my LCS even in a small town like mine and buying boxes of 1990 UD baseball or packs of 1986 Donruss tryingto hit the Canseco RC. A time before this grading crap with its buzzwords of pop reports and comps....ughhh I do miss the old days, just not the super print runs lol :).
@@joerussell9574 For a while before COVID Burbank Sports Cards had 5,000 count boxes filled with random cards for 4/$1. I was in heaven, it was like I was a kid again. I spent hours in there with my checklists, probably to the amusement of Rob. It didn't fill his pockets, but it sure brought back some magic that was deeeeeeeply appreciated by this former kid.

Great knowledge. Thank you. This was my era. Best imo
What an amazing time to be collecting cards.

Thanks for the info, very helpful! Did all years of stadium club basketball have members only versions?
No, they stopped after 1997.

@@sportscardprofessor they’re from the 92-93 Topps stadium club member’s choice.
@@TURMOSS4 Then they sound like misprints to me.
@@sportscardprofessor ok thank you!

I can't guess at value in a volatile market like this. It is an awesome set to own though.
I just picked up some of those at the LCS on Tuesday. No metal card though.

I hated that SC 93 design when I was a kid lol!
'94 was the SC design I remember hating.
