- this is the video we made for angie (ive been lost) and i think what i wrote in the subtitles summarises what this record is about to me in a way i haven’t been able to do before. But to be honest im equally changed by what it’s ended up being about for everyone else.

I’m so sorry for your hard times with your love! I lost my brother in March and I am trying so hard to carry on as normal, but I’m not myself - and listening to these words made me burst in to tears!! We’re all really trying and we must be gentle on ourselves! Big love! This music is magic ❤

When Fred’s vocals come in, and he sings “I’ve been broke, I’ve been bent out of shape”. Man… that just hits all the nerves. It hits such a resonance. I lost both my parents before I was 12, and now I’m 33, and this song just captures so much of my life in such a beautiful, perfect way. The best music in life can articulate my feelings in a way that I never could. Thank you, Fred.

You're like one of those random guys you meet out at a rave or event and have the most amazing one off one night friendship with. You're connected on the dance floor for hours and hug when you see each other. You feel you know each other but know life is coming again tomorrow and you will lose touch. But forever grateful for that one night of sharing in the connection and love of music.

I spent 2020 with a broken heart. Doing pretty much the same in 2021 to be honest. Making my "I'm ok" face at public and crying at my apartment (can't call it home anymore) - kinda double life too, you know? So glad I found out about your music. I don't know what is it about Fred again but man your songs make me cry, or you tap into deep emotions which have been needing to come out for a while. I lost my dad 8 years ago and I've never been the same since. Being broke and bent out of shape is so relatable. As is being lost for a while. Life goes on and is beautiful, but you have this undercurrent of sadness stirring beneath the surface. Nothing will ever be the same, and you've forever changed as a person and how you view the world.
I totally get this. My dad died 2 years ago and you've described exactly how I feel. And there are songs that tap into the vulnerability of knowing things will never quite feel the same again. But there is beauty amongst the sadness. Sorry for your loss ❤

The amount of emotional resonance that is in your music is unmatched Fred. I find my self in tears after most of the actual life album. Not tears that are of fear, or sadness. Its tears of healing. I have lost many people close to me over the years, and it almost feels like through your music, they are speaking to me. Sitting with me. Protecting and teaching. Ive heard your Boiler Room set over 100 times since then and the ending always just make me break down in ways I never could of imagined. I could never imagine someone's words saying the same thing that goes on in my mind ever since a semi crashed into me 9 years ago.
I feel you so much Fred, because that's when I realized that the hardest thing isn't what we go through. Its when the people we truly love experience the unspeakable. I can only imagine what my parents went through when they got a call at 1am saying that their youngest child had just been in an accident caused by a semi truck.
In the end, all we can do is try and now this is the song is on repeat in my head when Im finishing a run or staying after to help a student.
Ive been lost for a while, but ill really trying and that all that counts.

I just got out of a long distance relationship and this is the song I listened to while going through it. First time I see the clip and while she never got ill this really feels like what I did - living a life while always having this second life of mine in the back of my head. To add to that - I work on the South Bank not too far from where the video is shot, it's literally where I used to go on my lonely lunchbreaks and call her. Funny how music can make you feel so much but also makes you feel like what you've going through is shared with others, be it pain or joy. Thanks Fred

Losing my mumma 3 yrs ago to cancer and the sudden death of a best friend of mine 6 months ago has been very hard.
