Ok so to be fair, lionesses irl DO actually do most of the work in a pack, they do actually do most of the hunting. Basically, Disney accidentally made a message that minorities are bad and evil, unless they're illegal immigrants that work hard to get on top. This is absolutely insane.
Thats not true, Male Lions Are the reason why female lions and their cups are more likely to survive. Male Lions Walk for miles to make sure no other lions enter their territory and if they do, the male lion fights them off, often the female lions need help to bring a larger animal down. There is a documentary about two female lions and for baby lions. The male most likely got killed. The pride (that’s btw the word for a lion „pack“), without the male had a difficult time to survive. Starving, being attacked, one of the baby lions died during an attack and at one point, humans intervened and introduced a strong male lion to the pride and he even accepted the babies and from that moment on, everything worked out for that pride. Male lions are the protectors and often the provider too. And female lions especially with cups struggling to survive without a male.
Who cares which sex of lions do what? You do realize that lions aren't human, right? What lions do has no relevance to human social organization. Even by disagreeing with the premise that female lions do most of the work you're still buying into the garbage idea that what lions do bears some relation to human gender relations. It doesn't.
They do the most work in the pack? Yeah no males protect the pack and sort out any problematic lions in their own pack. They also do ALL the protecting against other predators like hyenas, wild dogs and other lion prides. And this happens on a daily basis. In general females do most of the hunting but there are many instances of lion prides primarily hunting buffalo and larger prey where males ALWAYS join the hunt
Also, iirc aren’t albinos in some regions of Africa actively persecuted? Like, there are actual UN reports about albinos being persecuted, bullied and considered less than human or evil omens, abandoned, *murdered for their body parts,* etc. Like, I’m sorry… but making a group of albinos the villains in a fictional Africa is out of touch and a clear sign that only a Western view was taken into account.

It. Has. No. Soul. And... they did it because they had the 3-D models and environments already created. So less production costs. Btw fun fact. (White Lions in European heraldry) = Bohemia-Czech republic.
Not only was Mufasa a soulless cashgrab, the part that really pisses me off about it is it's yet another of these prequels Disney is doing to soften the image of their villains and make them all, "They're not villains, they're just misunderstood or victims of the system or circumstances." Like how part of this movie tries to make Scar sympathetic to justify his actions and resentment in The Lion King.
I'm so bored with the villains with so many reasons about why they become bad and evil. I just want a total evil and greedy villains for characters to beat and make fun of

@harrybulz8703 The problem is they are supposed to actually be biological brothers in this Mufasa is adopted which makes no sense and would make scar the rightful king
@@harrybulz8703 you just proved my point... He WAS Simb's uncle in the cartoon. But this movie retconned that into now just being mufasas childhood friend who he calls his brother, and has his kid calling him his uncle... It's just weird and unnecessary.
Well if you thought Scar was actually the biological brother of Mufasa then I mean idk dude, cause he looks nothing like every other lion in the pride in the original movie, I had always assumed that their brotherhood wasn’t blood but because of them just being friends
@justingabriel1765 If they weren't biological brothers, then scar couldn't become king when everyone thought simba was dead kings are hereditary. Only those with royal blood can claim the throne
And they keep lying again and again nonstop, trying to cap and hype mufasa almost every day, showing the trailer again and again on their RUclips channel. I don't see Sonic 3 being that desperate for attention
I can't help but notice that when Disney make an adaptation of stories that have stood the test of 100s and sometimes 1000s of years it's good, but make their own story and they fall to shit.
Funnier thing is that there is a obscure animation that was Lion King before Lion King (Kimba the White Lion) they used White Lions and Disney did a better version later on, but I suppose Disney today decided to use that version and nobody would notice.
It's the circle of life for Disney- 1. made a good movie early on that people love 2. turn it it into live action -3.Change every good thing about the original movie 4. Replace every good thing in the og movie with virtue signaling 5. Make bellive their movie is a top tier movie and attack people's opinion on it 6. Understand they just wasted x millions of money for a shit movie 7. Repeat 1-7
Hey Nuxanor, your first instinct was right. Lionesses do most of the hunting in a pride. Male lions help when hunting large prey because more strength is required, but mainly it’s the lionesses because they can be more stealthy and agile.
Lions also just have other jobs to do for the pride - primarily making cubs with the lionesses (yes it's a job, the males are invariably outnumbered by the females and they'll mate about every half hour when in heat), and defending the pride's hunting grounds and cubs from encroaching rivals. Depicting male lions as lazy is more wild than the African savanna
Before the lion guard show there was an old story, 'tale of two brothers' and scar was jealous of their dad, ahadi, spending more time with mufasa and teaching him king shit, so he tried to murder mufasa via pissy water buffalo, but it backfired and scar got hurt instead, hence the scar.
@@VGCLegends They didn't lose the rights to Winnie the Pooh, they still hold the copyrights to their version of the character, as I understand it. It's the book version that went into public domain.
"Mickey Mao"!!! 😂 How has that not occurred to me and how have I not heard that before!?!? Even if you didn't come up with that you deserve all the likes but alas I have but one like to give
Unless I mistaken, since I haven't seen the OG lion king in awhile, Mufasa refers to Scar as his brother? Not step bro, or adopted bro, or leftover bro, just brother. And even zazo talks about them both like they're from the same parents. So not only did they screw up everything already stated they also just completely undid the family connection in the OG.
one problem I had with Mufasa is its decision to portray linguistic lions as villains to be feared who are completely evil without any complexity, which can lead to real life consequences due to most parts of Africa's opinion on albino humans. when they refer to the lions as 'like ghosts' that is also something people have called albino's in a derogatory way. I mean, I'm glad to have the completely evil villain back, but to have all of them like that was very poorly done. (especially since it erases the message of the lion king two, which unlike Mufasa actually made members of its tribe have complexity,) to fix it would be to have a lion stray from the pride after seeing their leader kill one of their own in cold blood, and go off to warn the main characters, and either join them, or stay and die with the other pride helping defend them.
also, this movie further pushes the stereotype that male lions just laze around and don't do anything. it is only partly true, they sleep during the day due to their manes making them hot, but patrol and often hunt at night due to it being cool enough for them to. its a compromise, just like how human relationships are supposed to be.
@@casualcausalityy agreed, unfortunately as a lion enthusiast my curiosity to how close they got it to real lion behavior overcame my disdain for it. Really wish I could take back that wasted hour

Nobody in Wyoming likes peta.
19:10 To be fair, the original Lion King did in fact have the other animals be subjects of Mufasa. They were there for Simba's birth and all. They were actually going to reference in a deleted scene that they eat the animals but the herd animals are completely aware of this and understand it.
Discovered this channel recently I binged almost all your videos last night I heard a shout out to mauler now covering the drinkers video I'm loving this what I would give to see you on open bar with them keep up the good work bud
Personally I think this is hilarious. They spent years making this during a time where people would mostly tolerate it, if not applaud it for virtue signaling alone. It released at the worst time and I find that so funny.
Look, I will at least say this: They somehow made the "realistic" lions way more expressive in Mufasa than in the Lion King "live action." That's the only moderately positive thing I'll say about it, but even then, the lions look weird and disjointed af.
I do want to say that I didn't see the movie like this. I saw it as the pride Mufasa ended up with just had complacent male lions who quite literally had no problems so it was just taught down to Taka. The problem was just purely the king being a bad king. Then the outcasts are a hurt group who just where exiled for being born different looking compared to their birth pride. Then it is stated that the outcasts were going around killing all these different prides who may have had actual competent male lions. The pride that Taka is part of is one of those prides that are a sorry excuse even the outcast imply this. The only reason Taka's father moved Mufasa away from the male lions was because he didn't want to do shit with this stray who with his tilted worldview saw as a threat to his son. The females in the movie if am being frank just aren't shit unless they are from the outcast because we see that Taka's mother was being beat down by these young male lions until Mufasa came to save her. Taka wasn't raised to be brave nor taught shit. Taka's father did send Mufasa to protect his son as they run away with Taka showing that he still seems to have the potential to be brave to save himself and Mufasa. Next Sarabi has her own idea which did help the group but almost gets herself killed where in Mufasa saved and comforted her. Before I forget during Taka asking for help he feels insecure and not good enough because of his father's demeaning words towards him. Mufasa then proceeded to give him sound advice and to be himself before telling him to listen and just not ignore her which is pretty good advice, like imagine the person who is trying to get your attention flat out never listens to you? Taka also does fumble with his words but I do think Sarabi did enjoy Taka's company but when Mufasa showed all his good qualities time and time again she fell for him more and when she realized he save her it just made her realize she wanted someone dependable like Mufasa. During his speech he was telling the animals straight up that the outcasts were planning to break the circle of life which would have killed all the animals. The movie is let me say it not about real life since all these more sophisticated animals all share the philosophy that they all hold a importance in the circle of life and understand it's importance. Though the movie is not consistent with Taka's reaction and the outcasts reaction to Taka's "persuasion"
the movie was still poorly written the songs were not good, the plot was full of holes. not a great movie regardless. but i agree i didnt see a woke anti masculine girl boss connection here. people are kind reaching on this one imo
There's some poetry in the fact Mufasa gathered all the DEI in Africa as a united nation, just to eat them later when he's hungry. Just like the left ALWAYS does when they get their way: They start antagonizing and canceling each other. I think the writers unintentionally cooked here lmao
So, the Lion King is a plagiarized from an Anime called “Kimba the White Lion”, and I think this was Disney trying to associate the evil White Supremacist Lions with the original anime. That makes it even more evil of Disney.
No it is not. That's a myth and anyone that watched Kimba knows the two stories have nothing to do with each other- the similar names and basic concepts are due to both being named after the african word for lion, with Kimba changing a letter to be less generic. Kimba is an episodic series about a white lion civilizing the jungle. It absolutely had racist undertones as well, between the elephant genocide to the african tribe caricatures. Not to say disney is not ass with this one, just that og Lion King had nothing to do with this.

I saw this movie on a whim because I've got a unlimited movie pass and aside from the lackluster songs the movie was fine. To provide some context the white lions are called the outsiders and is just a group of outcasts for being albino and the male lion that leads them is just a dick who wants to be king of everything. Female lions irl are the ones who do all the hunting and are like the main fighters of a pack but it's pretty clear that in the movie Mufasa is just leagues better than every other lion in the movie lol
99 percent agree with nux's takes, but this movie was fine. The story telling was actually mid though and I preferred the songs. The outsiders had to be albino because Disney can't make brown lions anymore apparently....either way at one point, Kiara asks why white man lion evil?? And the reason given was 'sometimes feeling like you're an outsider is painful and it leads people to do painful things' which is fairly insightful for this kind of movie and if you want to apply race to it, works for any race, including 'white' lions as we have seen how ostracized white men have felt by the wokes in this country for quite some time. @@TheRetrostorian

Musta been a crowd of leftists, when a leader is presented they all just fall in line without knowing anything about them. As was the entire story of the Lion King world. Now, in real life, the alpha male lion does not really hunt as the rest of the pack does the hunting. Same goes for the alpha female lion, they don't really do hunting unless desperate. Any below them, they do the hunting as well as protecting the pack. This is just a very COMMON thing for wild animals....literally all wild animals act this way.....when they are pack/herd animals. For morons to try claiming they don't act that way, they have never seen them.

@@AteezwooyoungYes, the whole "female lions do all the work" is one of those woke scientific tropes that goes back a long time.
The Disney we once knew is now gone.
Has been since 2016
Walts head is spinning in it cryogenic freezer right now
It’s been gone since 2016 with the Jungle Book remake
The Disney we started out with: Oh ok lots of uh, questionable stuff
The Disney we grew up with: AWWW YEA LIONS! AWW YEA GENIES, AWW YEA GOOFY FUN TIMES
The Disney we have now: Lets take all our classic characters, make em woke, and AI generate a story shove it out the door half baked and we'll still get money.
Disney has gone stupid. There nothing left to say.

"He forces Mufasa to love with the female lions as some kinda punishment."
Hehehehe, nobody tell him!
At this point it's just starting to feel like a personal attack against my childhood lmfao
Reminds me of white orcs in rings of power. They went out of they’re way to make them whiter than snow … i wonder why 🤷♂️
It. Has. No. Soul.
And... they did it because they had the 3-D models and environments already created. So less production costs.
Btw fun fact. (White Lions in European heraldry) = Bohemia-Czech republic.
I can't believe this is real. They are destroying the legacy of one of their if not THE most famous movies they have ever produced.
Everything what I said was wrong
They want to destroy it.
He already had a reason - jealousy. That was good enough to be a villain in the old days. Simpler times. Better times.
I'm so bored with the villains with so many reasons about why they become bad and evil. I just want a total evil and greedy villains for characters to beat and make fun of
You understand "The Lion King" was a book that followed Scar, in the same way Star Wars follows R2D2, right?
Edit: Scar was already a sympathetic villain. We only saw the last half of the book first.
@@charlescrawford9972 Hamlet followed scar?
@@charlescrawford9972 I have never read the book actually. Go off though.
I loved the original Lion King to the extent where the VHS I watched it daily wore off.
When the movie turned 20 years I asked only the diamond edition of it for birthday and/or christmas present.
The thing that pisses me off the most is them retconning mufasa and scar as brothers...
I thought scar was always sinbas uncle in the cartoon.. maybe I don't remember right?! Why even care about something that petty tho?!
To be fair in real life a male lion isn't born a king, he is born to fight other male lions to the death to be a leader with a harem.
Colorism in the lion community is so problematic. It's 2025 ffs. Be better
Soo true 💯💯 preach king
And they keep lying again and again nonstop, trying to cap and hype mufasa almost every day, showing the trailer again and again on their RUclips channel. I don't see Sonic 3 being that desperate for attention
I can't help but notice that when Disney make an adaptation of stories that have stood the test of 100s and sometimes 1000s of years it's good, but make their own story and they fall to shit.
At least we still have male and female lions in this one. The next one will have non-binary lion prides that go by lion / lion self 🙄😂
@@snoopy1977 you could tell by the rainbow coloured manes
Even disney got mufasa back story wrong lol
Funnier thing is that there is a obscure animation that was Lion King before Lion King (Kimba the White Lion) they used White Lions and Disney did a better version later on, but I suppose Disney today decided to use that version and nobody would notice.
That's what I was thinking!
How is Disney still funding "live action"? Yes there is a possible market there, but they fail at it every single time!
It's the circle of life for Disney- 1. made a good movie early on that people love
2. turn it it into live action
-3.Change every good thing about the original movie
4. Replace every good thing in the og movie with virtue signaling
5. Make bellive their movie is a top tier movie and attack people's opinion on it
6. Understand they just wasted x millions of money for a shit movie
Disney Destroyed James Earl Jones's Legacy and Tarnished his Name. He was the Voice of Mufasa and Darth Vader.
Disney: "lets make a movie to bring awareness to the plight of lions.
Movie goers: "let the lions go extinct."
"Some are just tastier than others" WHAT 😂
Before the lion guard show there was an old story, 'tale of two brothers' and scar was jealous of their dad, ahadi, spending more time with mufasa and teaching him king shit, so he tried to murder mufasa via pissy water buffalo, but it backfired and scar got hurt instead, hence the scar.
I think the reason why they keep doing all these IP’s is because they need to keep making stuff every so often to keep the Patton on the IP
That's how they lost the rights to Winnie the Pooh and we got Blood n Honey.
@@VGCLegends They didn't lose the rights to Winnie the Pooh, they still hold the copyrights to their version of the character, as I understand it. It's the book version that went into public domain.

How has that not occurred to me and how have I not heard that before!?!?
Even if you didn't come up with that you deserve all the likes but alas I have but one like to give
Who knew white lions were so based? The zoo will never be the same again.
Yep, they do. All of that is true. Scar also refers to their shared "gene pool" in one conversation.
@balanc-joy9187 I remember that now that you mention it! Good call out thanks!
Mufasas moments before scar kills him he pleads to his brother for help, yes this terrorized me 😂
@ You're welcome. I love the movie and have watched it a LOT so basically have most of the moments memorized. Glad that experience can be useful...
one problem I had with Mufasa is its decision to portray linguistic lions as villains to be feared who are completely evil without any complexity, which can lead to real life consequences due to most parts of Africa's opinion on albino humans. when they refer to the lions as 'like ghosts' that is also something people have called albino's in a derogatory way. I mean, I'm glad to have the completely evil villain back, but to have all of them like that was very poorly done. (especially since it erases the message of the lion king two, which unlike Mufasa actually made members of its tribe have complexity,)
to fix it would be to have a lion stray from the pride after seeing their leader kill one of their own in cold blood, and go off to warn the main characters, and either join them, or stay and die with the other pride helping defend them.
also, this movie further pushes the stereotype that male lions just laze around and don't do anything. it is only partly true, they sleep during the day due to their manes making them hot, but patrol and often hunt at night due to it being cool enough for them to. its a compromise, just like how human relationships are supposed to be.
It's so much easier to never watch it in the first place
@@casualcausalityy agreed, unfortunately as a lion enthusiast my curiosity to how close they got it to real lion behavior overcame my disdain for it. Really wish I could take back that wasted hour

Disney “oh it’s not racism” ok then if it’s not then why use melanism the opposite equally rare hmmm if you don’t think there’s any correlation why not go ahead

I said read it closer. He laughed then sent one of his guys to help us. Told us if it was an actual Peta shirt he would have told us to kick rocks. He looked pissed when he first saw it. Yeah. Nobody in Wyoming likes peta.
no one anywhere with half a braincell likes peta lol
19:10 To be fair, the original Lion King did in fact have the other animals be subjects of Mufasa. They were there for Simba's birth and all. They were actually going to reference in a deleted scene that they eat the animals but the herd animals are completely aware of this and understand it.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but what if their making all these live actions to keep “their” things out of the public domain.
Look, I will at least say this: They somehow made the "realistic" lions way more expressive in Mufasa than in the Lion King "live action." That's the only moderately positive thing I'll say about it, but even then, the lions look weird and disjointed af.
Fiona and Cake is a good spinoff though!! Looking forward to you watching that tbh.
Nux you need to do a lore dive into the Legacy Comics timeline, as well as the Thrawn Trilogy, the New Jedi Order, and Fate of the Jedi
It wasn’t the worst movie I’ve ever seen but I only liked learning the backstory of Mufasa and Scar, the plot was mostly garbage and the songs sucked

Fun Fact ! White Lion was a band in tbe late 80's !

I thought they plagiarised Macbeth but made it with lions cuz that’s more fun for kids
I thought it was that they were both based on Shakespeare's "Hamlet"...
lol no, its literally the story of Hamlet told with cute animals
Yep. It is Hamlet. My bad. I knew it was Shakespeare tho!
The amount of political coverage I have been seeing from this channel no longer comes across as the chaotic neutral it has often been described as.
OP is what happens when you don't get nuance or allegory but you still have a keyboard and an opinion - and then you like your own comment 😂

Woke: anti-white
Simple as that at a base level.
Women good men bad!! Devil good god bad!!
Don’t forget the gays and trans over straight and cis
There are outliers but these groups of people are also protected against and favored over white people. Wokeness also only affects countries with white majorities.
White men in particular are frowned upon under a woke lens. We're encouraged to become a certain type of specialist gay to put ourselves slightly higher up the food chain, one notch above white women.
I could go troons to put myself right above our own xx on the food chain but we're still at the bottom within this ideology.
This makes me sad for the future of the kingdom hearts games
Sooooo....in the original story, did they not realize that Mufassa literally had like 30 mates.....I mean he LITERALLY took ALL the females for himself so no other male lion could mate with them. He also exiled literally all the other male lions.... lol. He DEFINITELY respected females, deeeefinitely total and absolute respect unrivaled by all others. Yup the respect on that lion is untold, it's insanity the levels of respect and obedience he has to female lions. They also just had to make him out as a "diverse leader" when in reality....he's a dictator xD literally a dictator. Congrats morons, you praised a dictator and then bowed in obedience. Musta been a crowd of leftists, when a leader is presented they all just fall in line without knowing anything about them. In Lion King lol, those lions feast upon the other animals literally have their bones at the base of Pride Rock sooooo these people are idiots trying to put woke bullshit in everything....If you want woke shit so bad MAKE IT ORIGINAL AND QUIT TRYING TO RUIN GOOD MOVIES AND CARTOONS WITH YOUR BULLSHIT! -.- Such as making Robin gay.....like wtf is that about.....How about making a Sparrow superhero sidekick....who is gay and has to save his lover from the diaboloical "Dr. Orange", who conveniently happens to have the hairstyle of Trump.....yup that already makes for a better story than making Robin gay -.- Mufassa was a better character than this garbage.
So your telling me even though in the canon of lion king Skar challenges Mufasa for the spot of king but its not included in the prequel?
and I was considering watching this! Last time I went to the movies I was 2008 for Gran Torino, I did go in 2012 for a Spiderman movie but it was just something to do while we were high and still lived with our parents.
remember the times when disney released cartoon boosted documentaries like "white wilderness", "beaver valley", "jungle cat", "bear country" as part of their true life adventures series?
they should just send people out with some cameras and spice it with a few drawn animations again.
