@@roosterball1999 Mojang was willing to shop the concept around, then Microsoft bought them, then Warner Bros. got the rights. It was almost certainly Microsoft who pushed for something more akin to what we got instead of something built into the game lore.
half of the time Microsoft does a lot of stuff against Mojangs will. Take the Minecraft chat report system, for example. i don't think Mojang was keen on that, but Microsoft sort of forced them to add it.

A beautifully cinematic but not semi-realistic take from what the Minecraft movie SHOULD'VE looked like, and NOT with real actors in the Minecraft world itself. If Warner Bros. didn't fucked it up from what we had now instead of THIS, it would've been a million times better tbh.

As someone who grew up on Minecraft since about 2013, this hit home for me. Legit got me to cry at the end, i wont lie. This is the trailer we should've gotten. Instead, we got Live Action in Animated world type stuff. Steve being voiced by Jack Black and having his face be "Minecraft-ifyed" would've made more sense. Thank you for bringing my childhood dream of seeing Minecraft in movie form a reality. Also, i wish they would've done the console edition thing for the subtitle like i saw in another comment. Minecraft: Movie Edition would've made more sense than "A Minecraft Movie" Overall, amazing job, man! You should totally make this as a fan project.

it understands the idea of minecraft, it's a sandbox. it's about imagination! and all the stories you can dream up of, sure king porkshire isn't "canon" but minecraft itself is a medium for storytelling. the story alluded here looks so charming and full of heart

I think there’s a crucial difference between these two trailers One was made with love for the source material and one was made for a quick buck It’s as simple as that
This makes me happy. The way Steve and Alex's friendship is portrayed is wholesome. I think with a Minecraft movie there's a question of how it should be portrayed: a story about how anyone can make their story, or a buddy story about two classic characters? I think for the official movie they picked the former, but the problem is the seemingly lack of care for what Minecraft is in the overall direction and execution. But THIS right here, makes me happy.
Not only does this trailer makes so much sense, but it's also made with EXISTING trailers, which means they could literally just mount a grand story with what's already been done with the trailers made to show the updates!! This is peak Minecraft Trailer right here, amazing job!

I woke up this morning and saw this. Absolutely incredible. I would LOVE to see this as a real movie. The clips you used all show different parts of minecraft, all of the updates, all the mobs, you utilized the scenes incredibly well and it shows the essence of what minecraft really is. I laughed at some of the lines twice, which is a very good first impression. You gave a story that is actually compelling (which I cannot say for the real trailer) and the overall vibe of this feels nostalgic, it seems like a movie I would have watched as a minecraft loving 7 year old and adored. The characters had fun and interesting personalities based on the few lines of dialog, they seemed significantly more captivating than the characters from the real(ly awful) trailer. I was engaged the whole time while watching this and i was already asking myself how i thought the story would go. If you do make this a real movie, all I can say is you would have my unending support and good luck!

This is actually so good! You should make a four part movie, fighting the Minecraft bosses! Post credit scene of first movie: piglins are trapped in the nether again, but they have a plan. They invade a nether fortress, slaughter every mob in it, and take the heads of the wither skeletons. They spawn the wither to escape the nether once again. The post credit scene ends before the last head is placed on the wither spawner. In the next movie, they fight the piglins again, but this time, with the wither. Post credit scene of second movie: Camera zooms into a hole in the ground caused by the attacks of the wither that exposed a stronghold. Then, an Enderman appears and places an eye into the portal. The portal opens and the post credit scene ends. End of third movie: As they were fighting the ender dragon, Steve gets thrown into the void and dies, but before he dies, he shoots the ender dragon with an arrow, killing the ender dragon. Alex returns home by jumping through the portal, and she explodes the portal with TNT so that nothing can enter nor exit it. She then builds a grave for Steve, and enjoys peace in the land once again. Post credit scene of third movie: Camera zooms into the void, showing a small patch in the void that is glitching. After a few seconds, the glitching stops, but Herobrine emerges from the void. Fourth and final movie: Herobrine (old Steve) is born from a glitch in the void (as shown in post credit scene of the third movie), which turned him into Herobrine instead of making him respawn or keeping him dead. A vengeful spirit overtook Steve (now Herobrine) and he lost the ability to feel love and compassion, making him incredibly evil. This evil comes with power, given to him from the void and from the glitch, a power so strong that he takes over the end and respawns the Ender Dragon so that he can escape the end. It is a power similar to creative mode. Steve (now Herobrine) is seeking revenge from Alex for letting him die and keeping him trapped in the end (since Alex destroyed the end portal in the third movie). In this movie, Alex has to fight Herobrine and stop him from corrupting the world (by glitching it, since he's born from a glitch) and deleting it out of evil, hatred, and vengeance. In the end, Alex defeats Herobrine, who, somehow, turns back into Steve. The end.

This is incredible! If you can construct such a great trailer using voice acting, some borrowed music, and Minecraft Promotional Trailers, there's no excuse for why "A Minecraft Movie" looks like it's going to be so bad. Heck, you even included the Piglin Invasion Storyline that's in the movie, proper. Honestly, kudos. You all did great with these characters.

The "somehow!" at the end was like 1000x funnier than the entirety of the original trailer. Also a much cooler idea overall!!! it's actually a story that works within the bounds of minecraft - not like that's THAT important but it sure is nice. And this teaser actually says what the story is about. AND it looks better. I really like the way their expressions manifest!! Still blocky yet fully readable. Great work!!

I like this. Its still got that child humor aspect without being cringe. Also the animation is beautiful! And props to the voice actors! I personally have always imagined steve with a bit more of a gruff, deeper voice, probably because of the beard. Gotta be the best Minecraft movie trailer I've seen! Great animation that sticks to the Minecraft style, has a proper story (or at least a teaser to what feels like one), and it just looks, sounds, and feels like a real kids movie trailer. Edit: Didn't realize the footage was just taken from promotional videos and stuff, but even still, this shows that the Minecraft movie could be done a thousand times better.

As someone who grew up on Minecraft since about 2013, this hit home for me.
Legit got me to cry at the end, i wont lie. This is the trailer we should've gotten. Instead, we got Live Action in Animated world type stuff. Steve being voiced by Jack Black and having his face be "Minecraft-ifyed" would've made more sense.
Thank you for bringing my childhood dream of seeing Minecraft in movie form a reality.
Also, i wish they would've done the console edition thing for the subtitle like i saw in another comment.

This makes me happy. The way Steve and Alex's friendship is portrayed is wholesome. I think with a Minecraft movie there's a question of how it should be portrayed: a story about how anyone can make their story, or a buddy story about two classic characters? I think for the official movie they picked the former, but the problem is the seemingly lack of care for what Minecraft is in the overall direction and execution. But THIS right here, makes me happy.

This is the movie i wanted to see as a kid when i hear they were making a minecraft movie, it's just perfect..
the end having the loading screen just gave me so much nostalgia, and the colors and details is just just so good, i really wanna see this.. i would go to the theater in a heartbeat for it, the fact that we've been wating a decade for a movie so bad that fans made a better trailer in a day... and you made an amazing comepletely rewritten trailer in just a week is just embarassing.
the minecraft movie trailer is so bad i don't even think a sonic movie style fix could be possible since the problem isn't just effects, it's the writing and humor... and honestly everything.. to fix it they'd have to start over comepletely..

I woke up this morning and saw this. Absolutely incredible. I would LOVE to see this as a real movie. The clips you used all show different parts of minecraft, all of the updates, all the mobs, you utilized the scenes incredibly well and it shows the essence of what minecraft really is. I laughed at some of the lines twice, which is a very good first impression. You gave a story that is actually compelling (which I cannot say for the real trailer) and the overall vibe of this feels nostalgic, it seems like a movie I would have watched as a minecraft loving 7 year old and adored. The characters had fun and interesting personalities based on the few lines of dialog, they seemed significantly more captivating than the characters from the real(ly awful) trailer. I was engaged the whole time while watching this and i was already asking myself how i thought the story would go. If you do make this a real movie, all I can say is you would have my unending support and good luck!

Post credit scene of first movie: piglins are trapped in the nether again, but they have a plan. They invade a nether fortress, slaughter every mob in it, and take the heads of the wither skeletons. They spawn the wither to escape the nether once again. The post credit scene ends before the last head is placed on the wither spawner. In the next movie, they fight the piglins again, but this time, with the wither.
Post credit scene of second movie: Camera zooms into a hole in the ground caused by the attacks of the wither that exposed a stronghold. Then, an Enderman appears and places an eye into the portal. The portal opens and the post credit scene ends.
End of third movie: As they were fighting the ender dragon, Steve gets thrown into the void and dies, but before he dies, he shoots the ender dragon with an arrow, killing the ender dragon. Alex returns home by jumping through the portal, and she explodes the portal with TNT so that nothing can enter nor exit it. She then builds a grave for Steve, and enjoys peace in the land once again.
Post credit scene of third movie: Camera zooms into the void, showing a small patch in the void that is glitching. After a few seconds, the glitching stops, but Herobrine emerges from the void.
Fourth and final movie: Herobrine (old Steve) is born from a glitch in the void (as shown in post credit scene of the third movie), which turned him into Herobrine instead of making him respawn or keeping him dead. A vengeful spirit overtook Steve (now Herobrine) and he lost the ability to feel love and compassion, making him incredibly evil. This evil comes with power, given to him from the void and from the glitch, a power so strong that he takes over the end and respawns the Ender Dragon so that he can escape the end. It is a power similar to creative mode. Steve (now Herobrine) is seeking revenge from Alex for letting him die and keeping him trapped in the end (since Alex destroyed the end portal in the third movie).
In this movie, Alex has to fight Herobrine and stop him from corrupting the world (by glitching it, since he's born from a glitch) and deleting it out of evil, hatred, and vengeance.
In the end, Alex defeats Herobrine, who, somehow, turns back into Steve.
The end.
Herobrine is not even official it should end in third movie with the ender dragon

I like this. Its still got that child humor aspect without being cringe. Also the animation is beautiful! And props to the voice actors! I personally have always imagined steve with a bit more of a gruff, deeper voice, probably because of the beard. Gotta be the best Minecraft movie trailer I've seen! Great animation that sticks to the Minecraft style, has a proper story (or at least a teaser to what feels like one), and it just looks, sounds, and feels like a real kids movie trailer.
