That was a great video thank you however I really would have liked to have seen how you put the belt around the pulley on the mower. I have such a problem with that I am sure I am doing it wrong.
You should have replaced them both because you’ll have the same problem with other and usually they both wear out around the same time I always replace them both just to be sure and to not have any problems later replace all of them with a new belt and spindles
Not bad advice, but it was too expensive for me to replace both and a belt as well. So far, it's been a year of steady use (in mowing season) with no further problems.
Hi, I damaged the belt a bit when the old pulley came apart while the PTO was running. It held up for the rest of last summer, but this spring when I took the deck off to service it, I also replaced the belt. I have a couple of videos about that. They're in my Cub Cadet playlist.
The pulleys have shoulders allowing them to tightened without any effect with the bearings ability to spin freely, so tighten them like you mean it!
Video was a big help. Thanks.
If you noticed when you pulled it apart that pully was on upside down thats why they had a washer and nut on it.
I've had mine for 12yrs. ,No major problems , just maintenance.
mine is a 50 inch deck, calls for 5/8 belt.
You did a great job on that.....the bolt that has a pin with spring on it is there a small pin that holds it in place.....? Thanks Rick
No, I just hook the spring over the bolt head. The spring tension holds it in place.

Here's my latest video - includes instructions for changing the deck belt: ruclips.net/video/vvMB9PZzQZk/видео.html
Which way do the pulleys go on? Looks like one goes the opposite of the other
