This sentiment has become so strong that many people are now avoiding Tesla cars and stock, even opting to pay more for other types of EVs. The relationship between him and the public has become quite toxic. It's unfortunate because someone as brilliant as he is, who is making such a profound impact on the world, should have kept his political views private. I think his involvement with Twitter/X will be remembered as the biggest blemish on his legacy. I am a strong Tesla stock holder, we have a Y in our garage and I'm on the list for a CT, so not a hater. I'm also politically sick of those both party, and not really interested in that area, but really find it frustrating how things has escalated.

The layoffs designed to pad Q reports to try to boost the short term stock price are a sign elon is done with tesla and now treats it like a piggy bank similar to how may barra treats gm. This is how any mba style exec treats the company they have the ability to exploit. Elon is now a danger to tesla.

What stopped me was that building my retirement fund back up again, with the new cashflow trickling in was underwhelming compared to what I already have in. It would take too long, and I might miss the boat. So I decided to keep a statue-quo until the market settles and becomes bullish again. So I "froze" my initial investments, (I'm expecting to re-evaluate sometime in 2025) and still invest with the little margin of cashflow I have in things I see fit. I could also go 50% cash out, and 50% payback on loans. But I decided to wait: Time IN the market > Timing the market. I am expecting an X-times increase in my investments that will surpass the loans + interests in the long run.

Went to Rome in July and a 4* boutique hotel with spa and breakfast was cheaper than the shittiest Airbnb in the city. Plus huge regulatory risk with multiple cities banning or thinking about banning it.

I have been following Gali for really long time, one of the arguments that had resonate with me was invest in the futur, you want to be part of (or something along those lines). That is one of the reason I invested in Tesla and that is one of the reason I respect Elon talking about politics. To take one issue where most people agree as an example. Maduro is a dictator, I met so many venezuelian that had to flee their country and Musk is giving them back their voice, I loved the beef between Musk and Maduro. For that reason I am a happy TSLA investor, I believe that freedom is a core principle and without there might not be humanity. So to go back to my point, Musk is pursuing exactly one of your core value: invest in the futur, you want to believe. Tesla FSD should be analysed - what does the regulation path look like - how far must interventions decline before it gets regulatory support? Glad to see you talking about Tesla (that dominates your portfolio so should dominate your output) but the FSD strategy needs your analysis. The Tesla community has been labouring under a FSD believers / doubters culture war (egged on by Musk) and it leaves a gap where Gali analysis should be welcome.

Really appreciate your honesty about how you menatally cope with Elon and Tesla. I got out of most of my Tesla last year out of concerns about the risks to his companies resulting from his politics. I have now come to believe his political fights are extestential to all of us. I agree with him that winning the political fight is essential for all business and our country. It must be fought and he needs to win. I'm back in Tesla and ready to fight with him. I have come to realize they are coming for him hard, he needs to win, can't afford to sit it out.
When people say they are afraid to admit personal politics, it means they are far right. Which is strange for a gay man. They want people like him criminalized. Democrats are out there supporting electric cars while republicans oppose them. Trump would be horrible for tesla. Biden did not snub EVs, he fell for mary barra's lies about gm supporting EVs. If he picked ford, it would have been fine. Biden is not going for a second term anyways. Tesla benefits the most out of any company with the EV subsidies that trump opposed because their cars are better than other EVs. It is crazy to see someone who coasted on tesla stock be so out of touch with politics that matter for EVs.
Running up national debt and cutting taxes on the uber rich does not help EV adoption in anyway and that is all trump accomplished in office besides loosening train and banking regulations that increases derailments and kicked off a round of bank collapses that still is not over.
Anyone supporting trump is not a supporter of democracy. Your voice stops mattering if he wins and pulls off even a small amount of project 2025.

I have been following Gali for really long time, one of the arguments that had resonate with me was invest in the futur, you want to be part of (or something along those lines). That is one of the reason I invested in Tesla and that is one of the reason I respect Elon talking about politics. To take one issue where most people agree as an example. Maduro is a dictator, I met so many venezuelian that had to flee their country and Musk is giving them back their voice, I loved the beef between Musk and Maduro. For that reason I am a happy TSLA investor, I believe that freedom is a core principle and without there might not be humanity. So to go back to my point, Musk is pursuing exactly one of your core value: invest in the futur, you want to believe. I might be a bit naive, but I think that more and more people will realize this about Musk.
