- Here are 5 basketball players who are actually TOO big for the NBA. Bigger than Yao Ming, bigger than Boban, even bigger than Tacko Fall. In fact, every player on this list would've been the tallest player in NBA history if they had made it.

Usually they can’t stay healthy, can’t move fast enough, or just can’t have enough energy. Height helps until it hurts.
Find a good physical therapist to fix them.
A lot of that has to do with gigantism. No human in history has been naturally taller than 7'9, and most natural giants never get above 7'6. People who are naturally tall have less health problems overall because they're supposed to be that tall, not forced by a pathological condition to be tall. You can always tell by bodily and facial proportions whether someone's height is natural or pathological, and it's the latter that will always have more problems holding them back in terms of health and athleticism. The tallest player we'll likely ever see in the NBA for a meaningful amount of time we'll most certainly be 7'8 or 7'9, never taller.
@ThePi314Man lol even the natural tall ones run into heaps of health problems. Do you ever see gigantic old people? No you don't, because they die younger
@@ThePi314Manthat's just common knowledge. Your heart is simply under more pressure pumping more blood and working harder to keep a bigger body running. It's common sense
@@ThePi314Manand explain to me why some of the oldest if not the oldest people in the world are Asian? 🤔
It’s sad to see these giants always struggle with injuries
Yup especially that second to last guy
I wonder why.
@@ltlwatcher simple. The human skeleton wasn't made for this height and weight.
3:22 "decided to play at UNC for coach K" I'll bet that was a surprise to Duke
Yeah 🤣🤣🤣read my comment about that !!!
"Too tall" for the NBA or "too uncoordinated for the NBA"?
Too unhealthy...They all seem to have foot, back, or joint problems. It might be an effect of their growth rate at an early age?
Especially cos longer limbs might be harder to move
Too tall they get injured too much
Too tall for the nba is the same thing as uncoordinated. Their bodies are taller than they’re supposed to be.
I assure you Fingleton did not play for Coach K at UNC
How does anyone who knows anything about basketball make such a mistake.?
BLASPHEMOUS
Seriously wtf couch k is at duke
I had to replay that! How can you act like you have knowledge and make a mistake like that
That was the sound of this channel’s credibility exploding
“Play at unc for coach k “ SMH😤
There was one player that you did not mention. His is Rhi Mong Hon aka Michael Ri from North Korea. He was 7ft 9in tall and was a really good basketball player. He trained in Canada but was not able to play in the USA because of his ties to North Korea which is in conflict with the USA. Korea wanted to use his salary which would have been upwards of multi millions of dollars for political reasons. The USA said no.
Agree
that’s fcked up 🤦🏽♂️ his whole dreams ruined because of where he from and his country taking advantage of him
@@hunter.5625 uh than he can play in North Korea why he need to play in the states why everyone wanna come here. They bitch about America sucking yet still wanna live the American dream and use my country’s resources either you like my country or you don’t stay or get out. Simple as that. He can still play and live his dream elsewhere
@@BabyPink911 lol not his fault he just a dude being exploited by his country and if he did hate America he was brainwashed from birth so again just a dude being taken advantage of
@@BabyPink911 lol, am*rican
It takes a lot more than just being a giant to play in the NBA
The NBA is nothing but a freak show.
Benamin Simmons is living proof of that.
Really? Didnt know that
Rigged b.a
I played for coach K too at UNC 😅
Giants always seem to have major problems with their joints in their legs that develop over time, also with stress fractures. The physics of having to move that much weight over longer (not thicker) bones provides a lot of stress.
Dude...you had me right until you said he played at UNC for Coach K...my skin is crawling
He also at 1 point said that he transferred back to England lol
It's a shame that such tall players are often injury prone. I wish all of them the very best whether in basketball or outside the game.
Coach K didn’t coach at UNC 💀
I feel for them all. Having to deal with that height and injuries because of it. 🙄😲😔😕
Its not about the size... Its all about the physical health capabilities of these giants to coop up with the rigorous physical and mental/plays schedules of the league...
which is caused by the height…
You sound like a short person...
No it’s about drive it’s about power they stay hungry they devour
S@w
@@hallucin827 you have no idea. Many of these guys over 7 feet have all the desire in the world. but they aren't healthy due to their excess height. It also kills them early due to heart issues.
Coach K at UNC huh? Nice to watch a video from a real basketball scholar
Thanks for information.. Great video 😊
Coach K was at Duke. Roy Williams coached at UNC.
there’s quite a few wrong statements and verbal gaffes in this video
“his feet were so big as a baby that doctors couldn’t even measure them” LOL
6:23 after he hit the shot he stroll off like "man, this shit too easy"
Neil did not travel back to England to play in the Patriot league. He went to Holy Cross in Worcester Massachusetts, the same city his high school was from (Holy Name). I live and I'm from Worcester. The patriot league is in the United States, a legit D1 league in college sports
hello
Alternate title: Tall dudes that didn’t make the NBA because their bodies can’t take it
If i got that kind of height i will non stop working out to look like a giant monster 😂
Same here.
I wish body modification and super medicine would be invented that would be able to make me an 8 foot tall or even 9 or 10 foot tall giant with a massive Hulk-like physique.
They have to create new basketball league for giants only. Wider court, bigger ball and higher rim
It's a bit like allowing golfers to just place the ball in the hole.
Jorge Gonzalez, who was better known as a wrestler El Gigante and Giant Gonzalez was drafted by the Hawks in 1988. He is 7’7”.
Yeah, he was from the northeast of Argentina, like me. My granddad told me he was... Giant, however, he was ill with gigantism because his brothers were normally sized, one of them standing at 5'9, more or less.
He developed cardiac troubles, diabetes (which killed him) & was veeeery overweight.
Such a sad story by the end, because he died too poor.
Great vid new sub 👍🏾
Played at UNC for Coach K... what in the fresh hell did u just say 😳
Don't you dare say he played at UNC for coach K because he coached Duke. A line that would get you hurt in NC.
Hurting someone who said that would be the first thing Duke and UNC would ever agree on.
3:34 damn I ain’t know 21 Savage went to UNC🤣
5:53 Minor correction - Robert Bobroczkyi attends Rochester University, Rochester, Hills. Mich not University of Rochester in Rochester, NY
not really a sports fan, but really enjoyed this vid!
Coach K coached at UNC?! WOW, no wonder he retired, can't see Duke putting up with that!
Niel lived not far from me in the uk. Though I never played against him, some of my team mates did. I remember reading in slam magazine twenty odd years back when giants were still all the rage, he was a huge disappointment at some camp and was out rebounded by some 5'9" bloke. Poor guy passed a couple years back.
He died? I can't find any info on him
How about Manute Bol, 7'7". He had a respectable career from 85 through 93, and then played a few games each season until 95. The man was a beast in the paint, blocking shots from Kareem to Karl Malone. He didn't have the skill of Ralph Sampson, but he gave everything he had and was a decent 3 point shooter as well. It's a shame he couldn't put on any weight no matter what he ate. Tragically dying well before his time. But he was fun to watch.
Remembered him from his Bridgeport, CT days. Led the league in blocked shots in '86 and '89.
the video is for people too tall for the nba. he was actually in the nba. different thing.
“Decided he would play at unc for coach K” coach K never coached Unc. He coached Duke.
gotta love that standing windmill dunk...
Hey Josh, could you ad the meassurements in metric system as well, please?
We love big man
So far george muresan is a 7'7" playing in the bullets and has a great career in the NBA. He evenhas a movie
Great career lol. He averaged 9.8 points a game. Maybe a decent career but nowhere near great.
Staying in the league that long, contributing to the team, and winning most improved player is overall though amazing
Amazing is Jordan, Kobe, Curry. I would even give amazing to Spud Webb because he made it at his size in the NBA. Muresan is a long way from this and at best solid.
I don't thinks so
My Giant with Billy Crystal
After they reach about 6'8, the lifespan of a person starts dropping. When you get _really_ tall, it becomes even more pronounced. These guys will be lucky to make it out of their 40's
These really tall guys have health problems. Making them believe they are fit for basketball is really abuse.
5:51 absolute stud! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I didn't realize coach K was the coach for UNC
Robert look like a video game character athlete
Tacko went undrafted he wasn't a pick in the second round
@Albert Fartensteinyes that happens but not every single point he threw in the video lol like literally more than 50% of this video is false information
He also said coach k coached at UNC.
Kenny without shoes on is actually 7’7 but with his shoes on he’s 7’9.
But the more impressive thing about Kenny is that he uses shoe size 28 US which is 66.5 EU shoe size which is INSANE!
Kenny George is 7'7" but his arms is longer then 7'9"guy
How much for these shoes ????
@@hehe4877 Idk
So who is this “Coach K” that the University of North Carolina had in 2000?…. Also, someday you should do a RUclips on Players Who Were Too Big For The NBA, to go with this one, which is about players who had too many injuries or who weren’t talented enough for the NBA.
He don’t know what he’s talking about in this video. Coach K has been at Duke BlueDevils since 1980 this is his retirement year 2022 with a 39 year coaching career.
From 2000-2002 UNC Coach was Matt Doherty former UNC player went to the NBA and came back after NBA and tried his hand at coaching on a 6 year contract. He only done 3 of the 6 years & Left before his contract was up. Doherty was a great player be he was a horrible Coach. Had almost as many losses as he did wins in his 3 years there. Players couldn’t stand him he was always feuding and fighting with players and other coaches! Thank God Roy Williams came along and took his place because he wasn’t much of a Coach. Some people can play the game but just have no patience to coach the game and he was one of them people.
May be Coach K's clone.
Nice clickbait. No one is "too big" for the NBA, they aren't good enough..
Fr
Thats right
Nice one
Imagine if Kenny George had skills,he would dominate the NBA the way Shaq did. Who would be able to stop him?
they also get injured too easily
Being tall doesn't mean that you can play. It is easy to dominate at lower levels when all you have to do is stand there and have the ball lobbed to you.
Looks like 7ft or 7ft 5 is the max height you can play at 7ft 2 or 7ft 1 like Wilt is the optimum height where coordination and height are maximized for optimum player efficiency.
Not tall more like physically unqualified most of these people can break or die in a game
Ike Robert, the man legit looks like a twig
That 7'9 guy proves that giants do exist on earth once😂😂😂😂Even a seven foot player could be a midget around them.
Glad somebody has common since. Guess what didn't exist, Dinosaurs. A lot of our history was changed to make evolution work😉 That's a big clue if you wanna go deeper into the rabbit hole. Up to you, if you want the truth. Not facts, those have the tendency to change.
Bruh you never been to a Museum?

When he said coach k coaching at UNC i knew right then that he just read stats and don't follow the game
Blasphemous!
The most athletic 7ft basketball player to ever play was Ralph Sampson. He was 7ft 5in and he was a beast. 3 time college basketball player of the year and a NBA hall of famer. At times, he was like a 7-5 point guard who could bring the ball up the court and run the offense. He was also one of the original twin towers along with Hakeem Olajuwon when he played for the Houston Rockets.
The sad thing about Sampson was his knees gave out on him. If not for that he could have been another Kareem.
7'4" with shoes on and NBA height numbers were pretty bloated back in the day, even now. Realistically, comparing Sampson with other big men his time, he looks to be 7'2.5"- 7'3", a little shorter than Yao.
Victor Wembanyama has joined the chat
Shaquille oneal..Dikembe mutombo..Yao ming..Patrick Ewing...Hakeem olajuwon .. are you sure?
Sorry to be that guy but Sampson isn't an nba hall of famer..
Decided to play at UNC for coach K, you may want to edit your video
Coach K is Duke’s head coach, not North Carolina.
move the 3 pt line back 2 ft and raise the rim 1 ft
first of all my boy don’t ever put Coach K and UNC in the same sentence unless it’s vs
They should have a remote control basketball hoop that goes up and down depending on how tall the player is.. and keeps the hoop at the same height depending on how tall you are...
The fuck? No
You wanna give out participation trophies while your at it
Tacko was undrafted, he got a call from the celtics the following day and they gave him an offer.
Agility not malnutrition. Energetic supplies to move that musculature/physically built.
You lost me when you said that fall is beginning to be an actual piece for the celtics.
And when he said tacko got drafted in the second round when tacko went undrafted

4:06 Paul Sturgis aka “Tiny” at 7”8
Its what you call the human limit. Back, Knees & Foot problems are common. One wears glasses probably the pituitary gland crushing his optic nerve.
“Where he played college basketball at UNC for Coach K?” Disrespectful 2 Coach K !
The 7'9 guy wasnt one of the tallest ppl in the world right? Although the 7'8 guy was ????
Yeah Daniel GilChrist from Topeka Kansas was the same height right around 7 feet 8. He's soo tall. He is a part time actor now. How these guys get soo mamonth in size. I think Koshen is nearly 8 feet 4 inches tall now and can barely move around due to his tall structure. He's the tallest man in the world right now.
Where did his guy get his stats and mostly non facts from…so many mistakes eg. Tako went undrafted and not a critical part of the Celtics, Coach K never coached at UNC, how in the world couldn’t a doctor measure a baby’s feet?
yeah. the doctor never heard of measuring tape. smh
The secret vs big player is to not use 24 sec, use 5. Until they need 24 sec to run the court.
Play at UNC for Coach K 🤣
So, they are not actually too big, but got problems with their health or weren't good enough. I wonder if someone can be too big. As in: If someone would be 8 feet, would he still be allowed to compete or would it be too easy for him to put the ball through the hoop?
Lol I like the random cool player facts.
7'9'' player is just like playing with kids 6'9 tall down.
Not too big for the NBA , too awkward for the NBA
Height makes people clumsy.
@@T1Oracle depends , how tall you're talking , of course if you're 7ft 7 you might be compared to a guy 6 ft 8 , silly statement
The stories about these giants and the inevitable medical issues that follow are too depressing.
Kid looks like a giant STORK running up the court
You should have included Sun Ming Ming, the 7-9 Chinese center. He played college ball in California and went on to play in several minor leagues (the USBL, ABA and IBL), but could never catch on with an NBA team. And Alexander Sizonenko, the 7-11 Russian center who never stopped growing.
7:27 Sun Ming Ming
Coach K coached at Duke.
I remember tiny from the Harlem Globetrotters why did he leave
People look at these guys who are 7’7” and think basketball teams are ecstatic truth is you have to see that most aren’t capable of moving good that height most times comes with health problems
Actually height more than 6'5 comes with lot of health problems
Ralph Sampson at 7"4 was the tallest i have seen that could move and his knees blew out pretty quick.
@@account5236 actually that height is manageable it’s the people 6’9 and above that have the most problems
@@kintrickliddell8794 I mean people who are nearly 6'5 dont face life threatning problems but get backpain, neckpain to most people
@@demonkingbadger6689 Ralph Sampson was just a liar. He never was more than 7"2 inches tall.
There is no such a thing as being too big for the NBA. Some players have life-threatening health issues that force them to give up basketball.
I played poker with him at foxwoods believe it or not that's the casino in Connecticut.. he couldn't even fit his legs under the table
"absolute stud"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Old boy didn’t commit to unc to play for coach k. Come on man.
In today's NBA, Yao Ming is too tall for the NBA. You can't move that slow and still be competitive in today's NBA.
2:51 The doorway and ceiling in relation to him... 😬
Your last video was 7months ago ! Lmmfao ! 😆
seems like they can be utilized but teams don't want to change how they use such a player by not using them too aggressively that dangers their health.
6'9" Tyler Hansbrough dunked on Kenny George.
wow 7 foot 9 never heard of him
If these guys develop some skills, they can be great players.
It’s hard cos it’s rare to see people over 7’3 and not stiff. Yao Ming is just an example of a miracle. I don’t think anyone will ever see anyone like him again
Coach K coached at Duke!
"a lot of people at 7'9" "😂😂😂😂😔😔
Ever hear of a guy named manute bol? He was in the NBA how about Yao Ming and Ralph Sampson?
In cm or m please... It would be easier for me if the measurement is in metric. Thx.
i like watching men over 7 foot tall play
@3:20 “Decided to play at UNC for coach K.” It doesn’t even sound right.
Love the opening shot of LeBron once again doing the bunny hop in the pea patch on his way to the basket.
UNC Coach K? How can that mistake be made?
Kenny George was 7'7 in his stocking feet, so inflating his already freakish height is unnecessary...but he couldn't play a lick. He had the mobility of a crippled tortoise, couldn't box out, couldn't run nor rebound. So...where is the surprise part on why didn't make it to the NBA?
