@@gmangabs I think you're getting confused with the first Sonic Adventure, which was released in 1998 in Japan and in 1999 in America for the Dreamcast and later in 2003 got the Sonic Adventure DX Port for the GameCube
Sonic Adventure 2 released in 2001 and in the same year the Dreamcast was discontinued and the port Sonic Adventure 2: Battle was released for the Gamecube

The story this song tells really hits hard even after all these years❤️
the song plays on the main menu of the game, and toned downs versions/remixs plays in a other menus of the game, and it plays fully for the final bossfight after beating both story campaigns.
as for Ere of the game, 2001, this game came out on the Dreamcast, and later that year got a second version on the Nintendo Gamecube. in terms of music, Sonic Adventure 2 is one of the community favorites, every character has their own theme song, the levels' music is nothing but bangers.
One interesting set of videos that give a sense of the feeling of the game is where someone reworked cuts of the final battle of the live action Sonic movie to make this song fit as the soundtrack to the fight. I think they also did it for the second movie too.
This music plays during the final boss battle in the true ending.
