I WAS WRONG! Malaysia experiencing Miracle Economic Turnaround!

- Mr Loo was Wrong; The Ringgit has appreciated against his predictions! Malaysia has successfully implemented the nationalistic economic measures, and they have had a significant effect on their currency and their economy.
On top of that, the government seems to be hard set on improving the economy, and seems to be willing to take drastic measures to make sure that it happens. Will these continue to work in the long term?

Short term pain but long term gain is what DS Anwar is doing . Your analysis is encouraging. Thanks
Stunning turn around ? Based on what indicator?
His indicator lo. He is god mah
This was reported before Malaysia dropped 7 index on the World Economy Competitive ranking, increased cost of operation is one of the major indicator & the scary thing is no corrective action is been declared,RM still remain weak,no new income generator for the country,FDI is lower than of last year & common sense la government pulling out subsidiaries due to lack of income
Malaysia's wild card has always been the government. Now they have a decent and capable person in power and if he can survive the "stabbings", the Malaysian economy should be able to do well. Mr Loo is right in this video.
Cari makan makin susah, more and more scammers running melintang pukang.
Your analysis is spot on. I think most of the well educated malaysian shared the same views. Wishing that dsai able to serve his full term without any backdoor intervention. Looking forward for new malaysia
InsyaAllah DSAI ...buatlah apa yg patut demi negara Dan rakyat. Biar mereka maki hamun kerana dengki Dan tamak kuasa.sesungguh Allah Maha mengetahui hasrat Dan cita2 DSAI untuk kembalikan negara sebagaimana era 90 an. Kami Doakan kesejahteraan DSAI.
I have always shared the same view that Malaysia future will be bright under Anwar and his team leadership. That is the reason why i started to have more of my portfolios built in Malaysia in central areas at unimaginably low prices these few years. However i was often chided by friends for such view as they think Malaysia is beyond salvations. I think only time can tell who would be laughing till the end.
You did the right thing. Regardless of what bounty, negative and jealous comments, i can forsee a big boom on Malaysia economy very soon. Goodluck.
Anwar cannot abolish the Privilege Malay racial Laws. Don't Bluff
Thank you for educating us on Malaysian move to improve our economy. I believed you have a fair judgement on what happens in our country especially from a Singaporean perspective. To rebuild our economy is not a year or two years job. The government of the day has worked very hard to eradicate or mitigate the constraint and obstacles. I wish to have more Singaporean like you to give your views fairly and wisely. Good luck to you, sir.
Wishful thinking, lah!

Malaysia in the 70's had one of the strongest currency in Asia. I'm sure it was fantastic. Strong currency, large ample lands, strong govt and lots of resources.
Will be much harder to go back to those days, I think given the changing nature of Malaysia's economic and social structure as well as external environment, it's kindda impossible. But, RM strengthening by 20% - 30% is possible in the coming years and Malaysia can position themselves to be like Taiwan of South East Asia. Not a big economy (Can't be considered a superpower or anything close) but, relatively wealthy hovering at US$20,000 - US$25,000 GDP per capita in 10 - 15 years time.
@@leealex24 A strong Ringgit makes us feel good. But Malaysia is condemned to export. The internal consumer market is not large enough to sustain any long-term gross. Exporting Malaysian products is a necessity. In this case, a strong currency makes it less competitive on a mid to long-term basis.
@@LeSudiste-m2qNot true. RM can strengthen another 10% - 15% yet still fine. It is just going to its fair value now.
This is a rare Singaporean who speaks fairly of Malaysia. He also wishes Malaysia well. He is not Kia-su. 👍
USDMYR 3.50 coming soon in the future. PMX and his Finance Minister Rafizi has done it once and will do it again. Together, they took down the once mighty unbeatable Barisan Nasional government through multi year, multi term plan. Now, together they take on Malaysian Economy, I have full confidence they will take us higher.

@@LeSudiste-m2q I look at it this way, stronger currency means more buying power. Buy low end and sell high end, in between process them.

Thank you Mr Loo. Your video is very timely. Many Malaysians have been complaining about DSAI/Unity gomen not doing enough. It is an irony that we need a Singaporean to awaken us. 👍
You have an amazing PM now…. Treasure it
For those singaporeans who are too young, back in the 70's, the RM is stronger than the SGD. Not to say that day will come back, but, just saying it happened before.
Singaporeans always remember Dr M time kena left right centre and bashing from him 😂😂😂😂
@@leealex24MYR was made cheaper to SGD back then to make Malaysian products and services cheaper. To attract foreign investment. That was right at the time, might not true now
Mr Loo, thank you. We Malaysian are mostly very resilience, hopefully wake-up call our government will do the needy gracefully to correct learnt of the wasted resources. A wonderful beloved country Negaraku!.❤ Tks
Di zaman Ismail Sabri ekonomi Malaysia lagi bagus masa itu perniaga2 sangat gembira kuasa beli rakyat sangat kuat, sekarang banyak perniaga2 mengeluh kuasa beli rakyat Malaysia jatuh.
I’m a 66 years old retired middle-class malaysian. I used to tell my children & grandchildren back in the 80s how my generation used to frequent shopping in singapore or even in Tokyo. At 20-something we owned BMWs, Alfa Romeos, Fords, Fiats and so on. In Malaysia today only our generation provide financial support to 3 generations - ourselves, to our parents and children. No other generation can beat our sacrifice.
Sure indeed, we are in the 60s and we only know the word Sacrifice.
belahlah
No one is greater than the other. Accumulating more wealth during one generation as a whole means that generation has a higher resource-population ratio.
It's not just the sacrifices we made that bore results for our families that are impossible to beat in this day and age. The quality of life was unsurpassable by today's standards. In the 60s the country was thriving and in its prime with zilch racial and religious issues. Those of us who were born before independence could easily testify to that. Now it's a sorry state of affairs with the country continuously on the downward spiral with no end in sight.
pakcik you were born at right time that's all. just bersyukur
I am worried for the next generation Singaporean. They only went through the time when Singapore is booming. Whereas our fellow malaysians which share the same gene had to compete in Malaysia harsh evironment. Malaysia has the pple, resources and land to do great. It just need a great leader. Anwar seems promising so far... Hope we huat together
Need not worry about Singaporeans... Your Malaysia government is full of crooks. Nothing will change.
Thank you. We, Malaysians have a long way to go to catch up with our Singaporean cousins. Sadly. We have too many institutional and structural weaknesses coupled with inherent corruption at all levels. Wish us luck please 🙏🏽
@@tammyloo9165 Its not luck that you need. Your govt needs to focus on what matters most - the fourth R. Ringgit.

@@tammyloo9165 So you think the quality of electoral candidates that you have are based on luck rather than on merit. I don't think so.
Even if you believe that luck has to be an ingredient to for good governance, whose luck? The candidate's luck or the people's luck?
The logical conclusion would be that good governance is the result of intelligent, far sighted and broad minded individuals being able to focus on matters that matters most.
Malaysia gogogo!!
You joker joker joker
PMX has done a lot but a lot of dirty minefields are laid. I believe he wants to do his best n may not be interested in a second term if the momentum is there.
Anwar will be in POWER, supported by the King until the next election in February 2028. The country will improve for the better in coming years. However, l don't think MYR will appreciate alot against the SGD. A lower MYR means will be a blessing to Malaysia' economy, it attract more FDI, support our export, increase trade and attract tourists. After Singapore, is Malaysia. Malaysia GDP per capital is 1.5 (x) times larger than Thailand. 2.5 (x) larger than Indonesia and 4 (×) times larger than the Philippines. After Singapore is Malaysia already in Asean.😊
Today ( 13.6.24 ), the Malaysian Ringgit strengthed.
Just changed some AUD at 1 = RM3.134 vs RM3.145 on 12.6.24.
I think MYR will strenthen a LOT in coming years. Now the biggest hurdle is US interest rate being so high. Once this starts coming down coupled with readiness of Malaysia after government initiatives launched start bearing fruits, you will see more foreign inflows into Malaysia assets as a whole. If Answe can be in power for 10 years, things will look very different for Malaysia then compared to ger current state.

Corruption happened everywhere includinh singapore and it was done sneakedly. Who knew even you yourself also did some corruptions once within your life so far. In national budget 2024, anwar ibrahim raised another 80 bilion ringgit loan from central bank BNM, injecting new printed money in our economy, in expense of weakening the ringgit further due to increased money supply

Even there are, these are narrow, short intermittent with lampposts, tele/TnB stations, planting boxes taking up these paths as well as dangerous missing slabs revealing the deep monsoon drains normally with stagnant water n chunks of rubbish below.
Such ' cities' dont deserve be so named n the country cannot progress much without basic safety measures in place 😢

In terms of education, Malaysia is performing admirably within Asia. After the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Malaysia's University of Malaya (UM) is ranked 60th in the world. There are six Malaysian universities among the top 10 in ASEAN. Additionally, Malaysia excels in the realm of private education, with Taylor's University being the top private university in ASEAN according to the QS University rankings. This university advertises itself on billboards as the No. 1 private university in ASEAN. My my experiences in Malaysia, I believe Sunway University in Malaysia is the best private university in ASEAN.
Yes, a few of the Private Universities including TAR are good.
You are a joker. I work in a company employing 100s of staff. The quality is so much worse than before. Do you know what kind of passing marks they use in schools now? You will be shocked.
I have tar students working with me, over many years and even now. They are hardworking and reliable, but their skill and knowledge not comparable to Singapore graduates. I studied in nus, have children living in Singapore, taught part time in private university, run a company of 100s staff. So my experience of our school quality is first hand and broad based.
@@Easyly1953 Tar is not popular in Malaysia. I believe Sunway University, Malaysia is best private University in Southeast Asia. Hi Mr Loo, I think the issue of a stronger ringgit is less of a problem for Singapore. The main challenge Singapore face could be the migration of jobs from Singapore to Malaysia due to their much lower cost. I have seen companies who outsource their traditional functions such as legal to Malaysia, probably to take advantage of their lower costs.
This is already happening as many Singapore Companies with Singapore PR ( Malaysians ) have shifted their HQ to Johor Baru and bought up Landed Properties by their bosses.
The children then attending private international school there too.
Works out more cost effective and a better quality of life.
Guess what?
Those Malaysians working in Singapore are happy to get paid 2/3 of their Singapore Salary and work in J.B.
Interesting lor😂😂
Lower fertlity is also a problem
Great to hear Singaporeans telling the real facts not like before.😀
I believe when the prices differences are so big. Many companies will want to relocate to Malaysia.
Especially land costs/ rents in Singapore are too high. This results in labour being too expensive.

I think Mr Loo is still not aware of the deep built-in problems in Malaysia. Some of which are self-inflicted. At the end of WW2, before the British returned to Malaya, the Chinese Communists sought to seize power through violence. That did not succeed and it made the British and the Malay race suspicious and embittered against the Malayan Chinese. At handover of independence on 31 Aug 1957, the British made it a point to leave sweeping powers in the military, police and the Constitution completely 1-sided in favour of Malay race. At the expense of the Chinese and Indians. That fundamental schism fault line has never changed at all even up to June 2024. Mahathir even openly said the Malaysian Constitution never said Malaysia is a multi-racial country. Meaning Malay supremacy. Thus the troubles affecting Malaysia are permanent and there is NO economic improvement at all.
I think as Singaporeans, I wish Malaysia would be perfect but I think Malaysians should be realistic to give PM Anwar time to improve gradually.
You're joking! @@1m65

Earlier this yr, I was sceptical if this MS era is taking too long to come. Actually I am kinda certain this good time will come. I hear on the news, 74% of SG are migrating to Johor...
There are many things that are still foreboding. Number one is the Education system. We will not be able to produce a truly educated generation to meet the needs of these companies promising to invest in Malaysia. Look at the exam results - it is laughable if not so tragic. All shine in ugama but fail in English, Maths and Science. In the end these companies will be employing migrant skills to fill the gap. And think of the brain drain. All the able young people need to seek opportunities for higher education overseas because Malaysia has no place for them. They end up migrating. Parents sacrifice their lives and financial security to see their children have better opportunities overseas. Perhaps if these companies open job opportunities, they may return for the sake of their old parents. However if their children suffer the same disadvantages, the pattern will repeat itself.
One small step forward is the beginning.
Malaysians living in Singapore too long have actually lost the daily happening update in Malaysia.
