I already bought that bike. It’s awesome, the most comfortable bike I’ve ever had. I use it to cruise around in town with my son. The black paint looks great.
I had been looking for a new bike after not riding for decades. I was looking for one that would fit my short-legged fat body and that I could put a rear basket on and ride to the grocery store. One bike I tried with the more traditional frame was OK until I tried it with a rear basket. My short fat legs couldn't get over the basket. I heard about this bake and then watched your video. It sounded perfect so I went to the local bike shop, tested it out, and bought it. Love it! Thanks putting out this informative video.
I have same bike roll x1 elite. Very good and super comfortable. I have put on 4000km on it in 2 years. My average speed is anywhere from 12-16 on it over 2h rides. Depending how hard I push.
I got a low entry great bicycle Roll 2.0. I did have to change the front chain ring and crankset to a 170mm by 38. The bicycle comes with a 42-chain ring but with the 1x shift it is really hard on getting up the small hills. But the 38 ring made it great and I did not even have to change the chain. I ordered the Parthan Bike Cranksets,170mm Square Taper Crankset Crank Arm Set, Mountain Bike Single Speed Crankset. (Black,Size:38T) off Amazon for $34 bucks and the local bike shop put it on and tuned the gears for $20 bucks. Love it.
Huh??????? 😂😂😂 I’m looking for a versatile bike I can use to cruise around w my 7yr old son, but also on long rides at local trails. Would you recommend this bike as is, or should I also look into what you described doing to “improve” it?
I purchased this bike. i have cerebral palsy and it's hard for me to lift my leg over to get on a regular bike. So the low entry version is a lot better for me. It is a really neat bike that I do like a lot.
Bro you are correct man my wife and I went to 2 Walmarts and they was sold out of bikes and after going to a bike shop I'm glad we didnt purchase cheap Walmart bikes! Lol
Thanks for this review, lots of bike stores are still calling this a "women's bike." good to know that's not true because it looks perfect for me. I think I'll pick one up.
Love your honest reviews. Always great advice. I’m debating a Roll Sport vs Crossroads 2.0 (both low entry) for my wife. She hasn’t been on a bike in 20 years, and has suffered through surgery after pregnancy which makes sitting more uncomfortable for her than for most people. I’m leaning towards the Roll because of the 650 tires and the lower seating height, thinking this would potentially be the “more comfortable” bike. Not worried about spec, but if you had to advise someone on the safest bet for a pure beginner, hopping on and just being able to enjoy the ride, the better bike to reintroduce cycling to someone like her, which would you recommend? Thanks again for all the effort you put into your channel!!!
Hey Jordan this is Gary. You are correct about the Roll. It's not as fast as some of the other bikes, but it's will be hard to find a bike more comfortable then the Roll. The big tires, and upright riding position help alot, and the cup seat is amazing.
TheBicycleRider Thanks so much Gary! I’m going to try to get my hands on one. This is the second time you’ve helped my decision process. I picked up a Jamis Renegade a few months ago... not because you reviewed it, but because you offer lots of insight that let me to make a more informed decision... and also because I couldn’t get my hands on the Gestalt X10! Be well, and keep the knowledge coming.
I test rode the Roll Sport & Crossroads today (can't remember 1.0 or 2.0) and the Crossroads steering felt very twitchy and overly light/responsive vs. the roll. For your wife I would strongly suggest the Roll. The Roll also has a slightly more upright seating position.
Can you please tell me what you mean by having less air for more comfortable ride with this specific tire? I just filled mine up to 50 and thought it would give it more momentum when pedaling for a easier ride.
excellent video. I want one to replace my specialized roll... is the 300 pound limit quoted on this particular low-entry bike; just for the rider + cargo, or... is it rider + bike + cargo?
I own the roll and this week I rode the Sirrus Carbon for about 90 minutes, and I rode it hard. The Sirrus accerlates faster and has more nimble handling. The roll is a beast but you feel like you are driving your living room. However for comfort roll is where it's at; also the sirrus carbon is about 1700 bucks, the roll about half that. I've had mine for since 2016 and put about 35 miles a week on it. Put a rack, a cushy seat, and handle bar extensioins on it so I can ride sitting upright. Gives me a great workout and you can easily run over curbs and all sorts of objects without any concern, the sirrus is nimble and fast and more fun to ride hard. Roll is the sturdier of the two.
@@1bojanbojan It IS.....more fun and faster to accelerate and just faster in general. I saw a statement from Specialized saying they had a recall on the crankshaft/pedal on the Sirrus X models so I'm going back to look at the diverge for that sports car of bike performance. Having tried out both the carbon base diverge (2500 dollars!!!!) and the Sirrus X 5.0, I'd say the Sirrus has about 70 percent of the performance of the diverge but that the Sirrus is safer as the steering is not as sensitive and subject to mistakes (which I am prone to make) when biking.
It hurts getting on a bike all day without this I use my bikes regularly so it hurts my legs to get on and off I also hate my balls could hit the regular bikes without step through
Warning: I just went and looked at this bike and it is more of a boulevard bike. The tires are big and slick. It is not a hybrid bike that can go on a dirt path or dirt road very easily. So I am going to find a Trek Verve 3 Disc lowstep to take a look at.
Don’t buy a Specialized Rolla. WHY they discontinued making parts for there products and then your stuck with a bike you can’t get parts for. I’ve had my bike for 6 years I loved it until I need a rear rim and they stop producing them for my bike.
I’m 56 years old men riding all my life and this is the Best bike i Ever had. 👍🏼
I already bought that bike. It’s awesome, the most comfortable bike I’ve ever had. I use it to cruise around in town with my son. The black paint looks great.
Really appreciate these videos and the attitude towards cycling. Covering all levels and interests of cycling. Well done!

My wife and I purchased 2 last week and we simply love them and the tires glow in the dark I was like wow!!
Have had this model for over a year now. It is a great bike!
You don't find it to be too heavy? Should be good for my bad knees!
@@gosman949 light as a feather
what color did you get. Looks like it now comes in Red and Gloss Clay
I got a dark turquoise color. I do not remember the name, but I don’t think they carry the color anymore.

Exellent review! Very informative.
There was no mention of the crank or the Freewheel. What is the gearing on this bike or gearing on the other less-expensive models?
I really like mine and just got home from a ride.

@@hebrewawakening6024 I really enjoy my bike and have nothing but good things to say
can this be ridden on street, sidewalks as well as some gravel
Thanks for this review, lots of bike stores are still calling this a "women's bike." good to know that's not true because it looks perfect for me. I think I'll pick one up.
Looking at these bikes today and I’m deciding between the 2.0 and 3.0
Is it worth upgrading to the 3.0?
I’ve ever had a bike with gears before 😳
Yes , if you have the opportunity get the 3.0 , both are great but the 3.0 is really sweet !

I’m thinking of the roll sport low entry for my wife for similar reasons. Very hard to find one where I am atm though!

Fill it at 30 for a comfortable ride
Btw what size is the bike in video?
Can someone help me in picking the right bike?? I am looking at the san rafael DS 1 for 599. But is there something better than this?
excellent video. I want one to replace my specialized roll... is the 300 pound limit quoted on this particular low-entry bike; just for the rider + cargo, or... is it rider + bike + cargo?
Thanks for the information, I have just put money down on one. I'm trying one out.
What color is this bike? It is hard to tell with your video. It now comes in Red and also Gloss Clay.
I was wondering the same thing. It looks like a nice matte black to me, but the ones I've seen are all glossy. I would prefer a matte finish.
How is this on the beach?
How would Sirrus carbon compare to roll in average speed over 2h rides? How much faster would Sirrus be?
I tested it since I own both now.
Roll 25kmh over 2h
Sirrus 29-30kmh over 2h

Id be running really high pressures. That thing'd be hard to pedal

With a long inseam
What size should I get?
Large
I’m 6’2 and by accident I bought the small and it’s still comfortable 🤣🤣

So you mean this bike is for the ladies?
$900 for a bicycle is just stupid!
Maybe for a goofy one like that
Plus no shocks
What a goofy looking woman's bike
