Happy New Year, I hope you’re feeling better! I find your projects so inspiring! I don’t watch any “everything I’ve knit” episodes, if I’m following the maker I assume I’ve seen everything already. Lastly, I love hearing your cheerful little birds chattering in the background 😊

Beautiful shawl, Gwen, well done! You’ve done an amazing job. I love the little deer and their wardrobe of clothes - your niece must be thrilled. Always good to watch your podcasts and catch up with your projects and news. Like you I have multiple WIPs and am committed to getting them completed and to using as much stash as possible during 2025! Wishing you good health and all the best in the coming year. Thank you so much! ❤️ yes, I loved the feeling of completing as much as possible, and the fact that I could cast on a lot of new stuff. Only trouble is that now, there’s not much progress because it’s all new and still in the beginning stages 🤣 oh well, it’s always something isn’t it haha!

The doll clothes are amazing. Very lucky niece. When knitting that grain stitch, I used a crochet hook to pull the yarn through the multiple stitches. You have a lovely podcast.

Lovely to see you Gwen, all your knits are lovely, especially your awesommer gossamer shawl, I love the fade on it. The deer are very sweet and I’m sure your niece will love having so many clothes for them ! I also purl like you, I have heard it called ‘Russian purl’. I was an English knitter for many years and had to teach myself continental knitting as I’d heard it was much easier on the shoulders, which has definitely been the case for me. I found it very hard to get my tension even when I was purling as well as doing knit stitch. Just knit in the round was fine. Then I discovered this method of purling and it has really helped. The only time it is a pain to have the stitches twisted is if you are doing lace work, then sometimes you have to switch sts round before you can knit the pattern. All your new projects are looking great and I look forward to seeing the progress next time . Glad to hear your medication is working and you feeling better. So lovely to spend time with you, much love Janey 🧡🧶❤️

Hi Janey! I didn’t know that, Russian purl. 🤓 I love learning new things . Yes, those twisted stitches are not always fun, but for long stretches of stockinette I’m glad I’ve found out about this method❤️ . Thanks for watching again! 😄

Thank you for the lovely episode, Gwen. I am glad you are feeling better. I loved the dolls. My child is growing out of knits faster than I can knit the new ones as well. I am definitely going to try reverse purling. It looks like it really is more ergonomic. I actually think, I knitted like that when I first started, but then someone showed me "the proper way" 😂 looking forward to the next episode already

Dexter!! Is that what he's called in the Netherlands as well? I saw you pin of him. My kids loved Dexter growing up. I did too, as an adult. lol! Love seeing all your FOs, WIPs, and everything! That is a wonderful idea about the wool book blanket. I'll have to think on that one. I'm on goodreads, not fable. I haven't heard of fable. I wanted to try not to buy yarn this year as well. Well, I've already blown that. lol! I will perhaps try from this point on. Take care.

Great tutorial, never heard of it before. If it helps with wrist pain that's good. Really like the new sweater for your daughter. Have not done colour work for a very long time am a bit scared of it. Also the mittens are lovely, I should start with something small

Thank you so much for a yet another lovely episode! I was really tempted to join the MAL, but I think I have already lost it: I have read already 11 books this year, so there is no way I could keep up with myself. 🙂
Being a Finn, I knit my purl stiches very much like what you showed on the first version, but I'm not bringing my finger to the front of the needle. I found this video on how I (and most of the Finns) are taught to do it. ruclips.net/video/MqtnEfhcqY0/видео.html. (Pls consider this as your first Finnsih lesson, if you are not counting @FinnishKniitingStories as Finnish lessons 🙂)
But... I also found a video stating that your new way results firmer stiches and it is also quicker. Maybe I should give it a try...
