Yes, she helped to put Graceland on track but she did it by hiring the best people who knew how to do it. She was 32. Vernon and the Colonel started it. Vernon was the one who dealt with the city about Elvis being buried in Graceland. The rule was if you had a grave there it had to be open to the public. Vernon worked all that out and the Colonel (who managed Elvis) still knew how to manage Elvis. Vernon was ill. When he died 3 yrs. after Elvis I believe, there was no one else to turn things over to besides Priscilla as he worried about Lisa. The Colonel was still taking care of Elvis business. If she had not divorced Elvis, I believe it would have been appropriate for her to be buried somewhere on Graceland but definitely not to move the bodies of his family around under any circumstance. The request is extra ridiculous because she not only divorced him, but remarried and had a new family. I wonder how her son felt about this request. I think I would be upset if I were him. Definitely not appropriate in my book. Also, Elvis loved his family and he would likely not want this request honored and his grandmother or father exhumed. If she had not divorced Elvis, I believe it would have been appropriate for her to be buried somewhere on Graceland but definitely not to move the bodies of his family around under any circumstance. More concerning is the estrangements within the family….why? And then there is the degree that she personally benefitted from Lisa Marie’s inheritance. Today I would have walked out in a heartbeat, however back then you did whatever you could to make the marriage survive, you worked at it, you didn’t go out and start screwing your husbands acquaintances as soon as the ring was on your finger and you thought you were secure with a child.
