Hands down one of the best habitats I've seen! The views are gorgeous from all angels, the restaurant is so so cool, and again the backstage areas are just incredible!
Absolutely stellar looking build! Can definitely sell all the time and care that went into bringing everything together. Absolutely love all the backstage stuff, I'd watch a 30 minute video on that alone lol Looking forward to getting caught up with the series!
Thankyou!!! I did toy around with the idea of a special focus video on backstage explaining my thinking, planning and approach etc. have to see if that's something people would be interested in
@rossco7630 Well you definitely have my vote on that! I think it'd be quite beneficial because so few people have the insight that you do and you can only fake it so much.
The restaurant in the beginning is really nice, A name that might work is "The Nile Bar and Grill" the name pulled from the longest river in Africa. The Nile is a major transportation, food and water source for Egypt, and this restaurant is at the beginning of the zoo, figured it fit.
In love with this zoo, I'm learning so much about the staff and holding areas required to make a zoo function! And they look amazing too, the details like the locks on the gates and the pulley system are so cool. The guest facing infrastructure is stunning as well, like the little windows along the fence and, honestly, the entirety of the restaurant. The attention to sightlines is WILD! Can't wait for the cheetahs, they're some of my favourite animals.
Thanks Sparrow!! high praise, I felt like I skipped through the barn setups pretty quick in this video coz i was cautious of how long it was already, might do another short video going through the barns in more detail with my thinking behind the setups etc.
The restaurant is really nicely done, I could imaging myself there. That center pavilion tying the exhibits together is very inspiring. Nicely done. That being said where I feel your videos really shine is in the backstage areas, the barns and service areas are so helpful since those are the areas that are much less photographed, and you having an insight into how they should look and work is really helpful. Love how this project is coming. One thing I noticed in this video is that your voice fades out sometimes, not sure if that’s because of microphone placement or something else but I missed a few things you were saying because of that.
Thankyou! Appreciate the comment, definitely proud of some of my backstage work- and yes I hear you with the audio issues, happens when I accidentally lean away from the mic, harder for me to avoid on the longer videos but I will try and keep improving! Thanks for letting me know of any issues is a big help
Do you have a background in Zoo Design or something? This is so well thought out, it's crazy. Everything just makes sense. The concept is strong on its own, to the point you have me wondering how you'd ever come up with this, like.. where do you begin? I struggle a lot with adding verticality to my builds, so seeing you having absolute mastery over it was very inspiring to see. And don't even get me started on the details, everything is so realistic and so utilitarian, in the best way possible; the little hose you're gushing over, the staff gates and fences perfectly looping through the areas to enable full reach into every exhibit.. simply amazing! You've definitely earned my subscription!
I've had a career as a zookeeper for the last 6 years and a keen interest in them since I was a kid (raised in the fires of Zoo Tycoon 2) but other than that nope! Thank you very much for the kind words look forward to sharing more of the zoo soon. Glad you appreciate it!!!
this is stunning, even just the small detail of having weighing scales and filtration systems for water features that aren’t just for aquatic animals really make this zoo feel real and makes it something special even with how many amazing zoo projects there are on youtube right now. amazing job, can’t wait to see that cheetah yard and holding. :)
Thankyou! Really glad you think my zoo stands out at all, I'm trying to aim for a happy level of 'realistic' where I can have some of those fun details but don't get bogged down too much in making sure everything would ACTUALLY work in real life

@@rossco7630 I would ABSOLUTELY watch that, I think it would be very educational.

Wow wow WOW! The wait for episode 3 was definitely worth it! Great job!
haha I apologise for the wait! glad you think it was worth it

Are these facilities actually usable or for aesthetic? Either way it’s amazing!
The animal ones? They are all traversable and usable by the animals! I use a mod called PZPlus+ which makes hitboxes smaller to make this possible
Great video, but sometimes you went quiet and I couldn’t tell what you were saying.
Yes sorry about that! Audio definitely wasn't great on this one, hopefully it's fixed in later episodes- thank you so much for letting me know!
when are you giving us a speed build
pretty slim chance of speedbuilds happening! maybe ill try on a smaller build I have coming up
Is this on steam?
the game Planet Zoo is on steam yes, the Zoo is not on the workshop if thats what you mean- sorry!
first lmao
