mixers/producers are hidden members of a band. Although they need to be good, they are not magicians. It is clear that mr Hinds was drowning in cheri breath when recording this.

you dont mix a bands music based on anything other than what sounds good. listen to the song and try to imagine an environment the song is trying to place you in. the song is mixed pretty well, make sure you are listening to it properly.
