QUESTION; the AC Grid, let say i were to connect a grid power to this inverter just as a backup in the event that my solar not producing any power; will this AC grid charge the battery and power the loads at the same time?
I have a grid tied system with 2 inverters (sunny boy) and a Generac 24kw system. I was wondering if I could get this hybrid and a battery and tie it in without adding additional arrays at the time being?
What EG4 Inverter is recommended for priority of "1. Solar PV Power | 2. Grid Power | 3. Batteries | 4. Generator?" Where Solar is used to power ac loads while keeping batteries full. Don't want to supply power back to grid. Only use grid as needed for back up like a generator. Only use Batteries as needed if grid and Solar is not available. And last to only use gas generator if grid is not available and battery is not enough or too low.
Just starting to investigate solar as a possibility for my home; hybrid battery system. Though I've got a very low energy consumption home, I have two, 200 amp panels. None of the videos I can find deal with integrating to anything but single breaker panels. Is this going to be an enormous complexity or cost increase?
Can I use my own batteries or do I need to use the EG4 batteries? That is, does the 12kPV need comms with the batteries, or can I just tell it I'm using LiFePO4 and it works?
@@SignatureSolar I use LiFePO4. But I see the communication cable and don't know if that's optional or not. Mine are straight up batteries with no comms. Can you run this unit without it talking with the battery, or battery communication required?
Are you trying to work on an update so you can I need more panels and I really hate to buy an 18K to be able to have more panels since you don't offer a charge controller that communicates with this @@SignatureSolar
Hello, my question is, can VOC and WATTAGE from PV input 1 be totally different than VOC and WATTAGE from PV input 2?, EXAMPLE ( PV 1= 240 voc, 4500 watts.. PV 2=320 voc, 5200 watt), I really need to know this. Thank you!
Yes of course, but it’s currently listed in the California inverters list, but hasn’t been certified as an approved ESS and is thus uninstallable. I’d have loved the 6000XP as an ESS - it’s more than I need for my cabin - but figure the 12KPV is more likely to be approved as part of a 9540 system.
I don't get your comment? I absolutely love Victron and our camper is full of Blue. But Victron isn't in the grid interactive world. I wish they would though.
victron is hella competent but so expensive & components take up so much dang space and wires!! I think because of the amount of wiring a comparable victron doing what one of these do it’s less efficient also.
@@SignatureSolar okay thank you very much, I’ll have my team start on creating a channel and in a few months look forward to working together on some projects
Nice work Kelly!
2:19 80kw with 10 units would power all my neighbors!!🎉

Yes, it can charge and power loads at the same time with grid input
@@SignatureSolar Can this setting be set to only come on if the battery drops to a certain percentage ?

can you provide additional information for home with 9kw solar with micro inverters.. setup and how it works with eg4 12kpv.
Just AC Couple the existing micro-inverters to the 12kpv's Gen. terminals! You can then add more solar panels to the inverter :)
What size wire do you use in the Grid L1, L2 and neutral
Max wire size between Grid, Gen, and Load terminals is 4 AWG, which can handle approximately 85A. We would recommend using 4 AWG!
What is the 4000 watt power imbalance referencing?
Great video! Does the 12Kpv also have the built in RSS transmitter like the 18Kpv? Thanks
Yes it does!
Another good product.

Hey Signature Solar, does the 12k works with 120/208v grid?
Yes! You will need 3 units to achieve 3 phase.
Does the Tigo TS4-A-S work natively (shows panel level monitoring) like the TS4-A-F does? or do you need the access point and CAA still?
You will still need the TAP and CCA
once booted up and connected does the dongo be disconnected and the inverter still able 2 work
The 12kPV does not need WI-FI to work. You are able to disconnect it and it still work :)
Is a bassen green battery rack compatible with the eg4 12k?
The battery will work, but communication is not guaranteed and you would have to run it in open loop.
@@SignatureSolar I will look into that and get a better understanding. Thanks for the update
Hi
When they going to make a 3 phase inveter from this brand 120v/220v
You can create a 3 phase systemusing 3 of these 12kPV units :)

This inverter is compatible with Lead-Acid/Lithium battery types. What type of batteries do you have so we better help?

I have two 18Kpv and would like to add a 12KPV to them can you parallel them
You cannot

Yes, so long as it's not 1b and 1a, the same panels must be used on the first 2 ports because they are parallel!
9540 coming for it?
UL 9540 only comes with inverters and batteries combined.

Want to give me one to put in for my parents? I’ll make a full vid 😂❤ maybe an outdoor wall eg4 battery also?
Doesn’t hurt to ask 😂
And I feel most homes would need two eg4 power pros though so 16k not twelve thousand but please let me know
