Man I I met theses guys my senior year inn College in 1990 in Buffalo where Al threw me into the crowd and I went surfing during their set! It was something special!
Al is very humble here....he gives props to Chris Connelly for doing the vocals but that’s only true for the live performance on the tour supporting Psalm 69 LP....on the record, that is Al pounding away on the vocals in his quintessential awesome cyber-punk Vox
TV 2 is performed in real time....Bill Rieflin actually hammered away at those drums....Chris Connelly sings it live but Uncle Al does the vocals on the album!!!!!!!!!!!
there is a version called “tv song” on the original single for Jesus built my hotrod where Connelly is on vocals. it was re recorded for the album with Al on vocals and changed to TVII. there are a bunch more now, TVIII is on the single for “the fall”, etc. i think they’re on TVVII now.
Remember guys, the alternative underground music through out the 1990s, we Loath MTV as uncle Al is doing in this interview. There was no love lost when the music ended in MTV.
what i would give to see THIS full episode... i recorded every single headbanger's ball i could... this was the last one i did, and i played this one endlessly... and there is a list of like 5 songs in the middle of it, leading up to NIN's head like a hole (i think lenny kravitz' "are you gonna go my way" was one of 'em... and i seem to remember a video with the guy who played webster)... i loved those songs, but i no longer remember what they are.
I have been to a lot of Goth clubs over the years and observed that people there including myself like to dance to a lot of the songs off With Sympathy such as Revenge, I wanted to tell her, work for love, effigy etc. Also, the album cover to With Sympathy is very Goth looking IMO. Although yes Goths also like other Ministry albums, but I think more so their earlier works like Twitch, The Mind..., LORAH, the Wax Trax singles from mid 80s, and even some of Psalm 69, Filth Pig, and Dark Side of The spoon. In fact their mid 80s Wax Trax single Everyday is Halloween has been somewhat adopted as a Goth national anthem song 👻. Ministry’s more recent albums are more straight metal and speed metal sounding IMO albeit still with heavy sampling and processed sounds at times. Some Goths may still like those albums, just not as much as Minitry’s earlier sound. Certainly Ministry has been very diverse and evolving in their sound and musical approach over their history.
Eh, it was Mikey's gtr. Playing that made psalm 69 luxa/pan was tapped out by 1990 as far as fresh sounds barker contributed alot of programming and houses of the mole the child of psalm 69 w Mike's return is the best record they had made since 1992 w no Paul....twitch was fucking awesome even the goth shit was awesome in its own way...listen to lead into gold it just sounds like ministry missing something and ministry could use a lil Paul barker now to freshen up their sound but that's it as far as NEED
He obviously didn't hate barker then. They weren't best friends but once all figured out how much money he was stealing then it unveiled how barker us a fucking turd sucker
This tour with Sepultura and Helmet was amazing!
Saw them in Orlando. Helmet got in an accident the night before and couldn't make it. Incredible show🤘
That must of been off the chain.
"Not Without Onions". I will always remember Al saying that forever.
Al at his Zenith. The best.
One of the best bands.

Al was so chill and relaxed back then....like really cool to hang with style....me likey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He almost seems sober.

Helmut opened for Minstry on tour in 1991 or 1992. Check them out if you don't know of them.
Helmut Berger? Helmet. Awesome band.
Holy crap how did rackman stay on the air as long as he did?
He was friends with Axl Rose. He's the first one to admit it
Rob Zombie copied Al's look! Lol
+4AL4LIFE Rob Zombie copied Al's everything
apart from talent
4AL4LIFE al stole his look from gg Allin
Rob is the Jewish poser Al jourgensen guys terrified to touch the real life horror of Al...Rob is movie scary Al is real deal scary
In the 90's I thought rob zombie to be a parody of al jourgensen.
Uncle Al is overly affable but it’s not corny as much as it is adorable cuz he turned more agitated personality later on in his life
A lot of Goths are into ministry too
Yes especially their With Sympathy era
rivotrich7 I’m not talking about the synth pop era I’m also talking about the current industrial

rivotrich7 I was more or less talking about the 90’s stuff in my original comment
They had a lot of good music in the 90s. Personally I like their 80s music better including late 80s, but that’s just my taste.
Another LARD record please! Dat shit was da Kats Meow yo! Cool dat they were all so happy back then & Al is such a Ham! Luv it...
Al is fukin hilarious
Lmfao were going to play "Farm Aid"
Mike Scaccia was Ministry, end of discussion!

I love you Jimi but that's polainas
You mean Barker, right?

Wow, Al was so nice to Paul back then...this must have been a good time for them friendship wise!!!!!!!
Okay the lyrics are Connelly...got it...but everything else I said is accurate
wtf you cut out all the videos ? i feel lke my ears have been touched by christ
All those pals from HeadbangersBall were so ego-pumped. :)
LoL I hate this host
Buck Satan & the 666 Shooters.I kinda think this is what he'd name his "country" album.
Uncle Al sounds different in this interview. This must be his pre-junkie days.
Before he turned into a sad heroin junkie for sure.
uhhhh
"Amputees buy it.."
Funny how he's being cordial w/ Barker there considering he hated him
Jorge Caicedo he prolly didnt really hate him then. Read his book. It's fucking great
Tulpa By Proxy I did...yes it's a great book...but he made his feelings clear about Barker
He obviously didn't hate barker then. They weren't best friends but once all figured out how much money he was stealing then it unveiled how barker us a fucking turd sucker
cc
Why are they in there in denial of there contributions to Industrial
Paul Barker sounds less effeminate here...like this is his true self before he amped it up LGBTQ 🏳️🌈 style!!!!!!!!!
LOL!
