Great video, great music, and most of all great bike! Once in awhile you come across gems in youtube this is one of them
Thanks for takning the time to dop those positive words! Dave 🙃
A work of art. Amazing. Love how you've painted the bottom of the tank to follow the frame line.
Thanks Beaver. It was a “shower thought” one morning. K tanks aren’t known for their friendly lines once naked.
I always afraid of dissolving paint by petrol. Not every paint is good for internal tank
man this is my dream bike. i wish i could modify something like this for long trips as well but these are way to rare in my country
Thanks for the kind words. Where are you from?
Turkey@@djewen
Damn, one of the best lookin scrambler adaptations for the K100 I've seen so far. Love that optical extension of the frame through the tank!
Mathias Frees Thanks for the kind words! 😃
@@djewen Have a K100 RS myself (café styled) and it's a bloody difficult bike to get proportioned right. Just glad to see someone who got it right :)
Wow this looks amazing? Thinking to build one like this too! Thanks for Idea! 👍💪😍
Thanks! All the best with your build!
True labor of love--awesome!
Thanks for the kind words!
Nice build! What kind of front suspension did you use? Was it plug and play?
Thank you. The front suspension are the standard Showa units.
A lot of work, good result.
MOTO 46 thanks!
@@djewen I'm afraid to redo my K100. I use stock
Nice and neat job. Beautifully done
Thank you
You're an Artist! Well Done!
Thanks Man! 🙏🏻
I simply love it. Awesome work. I wish I had the talent.
Thanks for the positivity! I’m sure you would manage it, this was my first bike. The Clymer manual is your friend 🙂
I'm a total noob to Bikes and don't get the Cafe etc differences.
This is just an incredibly beautiful piece to me.
Thanks for the kind words. You’ll figure it all out in no time at all. Welcome to the bike world, it’s a nice place to be! 🏍💨
Hi, beautiful bike. Can you share with us some infos about the tires you choose. Which model and size, thank you
The best K bike I've seen so far! You got everything right. I wonder what was your final choice for the tires.
Cabre thanks for the kind words. The tyres are Heideneau K60
you've fixed tank's angling problem with just some black paint. that's clever.,
Thank you, it was a “shower thought” one morning.
Is one of the best K I've ever seen and for sure the most elegant! May I ask You who made the front fender?
Thanks for the kind words. I made it myself, it’s the original fender cut down and shaped. Easy.
Amazing, it turned out very nice! I am transferring the ignition switch to the airbox on my K75 as well - any tips on where to let the cables exit the airbox?
Hello. The airbox houses the Mass Airflow Sensor which has a cable and grommet in the housing, I shared the same point.
what kind of tires are those. and what size thanks jb
Hidenau K60
Did you run into problems when redoing the electrical to work with new parts? Looked like you had a new computer system?
Not entirely other than the old type fuel level sender with the thermistors. Everything else was easy as I used the BEP 3.0 which is plug-and-play. Hope that helps.
Wauw very nice 👍
Thank you! 😁
Great bike! I read that you have managed to add a fuel level sender. Can you perhaps share how to install this and where you can get it? I've read that a lot of people haven't managed to add this to a new odometer.
Hi Thom, the response to this question won’t fit in RUclips, you can read about it on my blog “Revive” over on Motobrick.com. I hope that helps.
This is a great build. I managed to get a tired K100 for £300 several years ago. It’s slowly getting transformed.
I’ve had a look through your blog, but couldn’t see any info on how you managed to polish up the metal work so well on the exhaust down pipes. Mine are very dark and despite grinding with a wire brush haven’t come up amazing.
Would you mind giving a rough overview on what process you used for this? Hope the bikes still going strong! Cheers
Thanks for the kind words Michael.
I used a wire brush attachment on a 4” angle grinder, you end up getting turned into a hedgehog with this approach however. Unfortunately if you use the bike the pipes don’t last long like that hence I wrapped them, the best option would be to have them ceramic coated. I hope this helps, give me a shout if you need anything else.
@@djewen Great, thanks, I appreciate that. ’ll give it another go with a new attachment and see how it goes. I might spray them black with VHT exhaust paint if they’re prone to dirtying back up 👍🏻
cool and nice
Nice motorcycle! where did you buy the little triangle bag near the battery? homemaded? thanks!
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, custom made, sorry.
@@djewen Thanks for your answer. Customizing my K1100, I m looking for a mean to hide the battery. Have fun in riding and be carefull on the road!
Amazing build! I was inspired by your build to build my own street tracker and am currently working on it.
I really like those mirrors as well! Mind if I ask what brand they are, and where you purchased them?
Same question about the handlebars as well. They really help complete the look!
Thanks for the kind words. The mirrors were just from eBay, it took a long time to find a set with long enough threaded stems to fit through the switch gear. Unfortunately one broke and the seller doesn’t distribute them anymore, I’ve have been unable to find ones with longer stems but a threaded bar could be welded on to a shorter set. The bars are LSL street bars.
@@djewen Thanks for the tip! It's a shame they don't have the mirrors anymore.
thats cool sir i want that
Thank you!
Awesome build! Where did you relocate the coolant reservoir on the back?
Thanks for the kind words. I created a custom one, is placed behind the radiator and in front of the airbox, You can see it in the video at 1.58 Wrapped bottle with hose connection.
@@djewen thank you! Building a scrambler as well and your build has given me a great look on what I’m going for. thanks for posting a video about your bike!
Amazing looking bike! Do you mind sharing where you got the leather saddle bags from?
Hi Mick! Thanks for the kind words. The bags were actually made by an Upholsterer named French Touch Upholstery- she’s packed up shop but you may be able to track her down and have some made up, she kept a template of the ones I designed.
Very nice scrambler looking K100. Would you mind sharing where did you get that seat (or what length it is)?
Posseidon thanks for the kind words. The seat is from Texavina.com, although there are now many other places doing them also. It’s 26” long.
Nice work..... 👍
Thank you! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
This is awesome and a real inspiration. Did you powder coat or paint the engine/transmission?
Thanks for the kind words. The transmission (gearbox) was painted as was the swing arm, final drive and engine, every other component was powder coated.
@@djewen thought so. Just wanted to confirm. Many thanks 👍 I just picked up a 1985 K100 yesterday
Great build. What size handle bar are you using. Thank you.
Thanks foe the kind words. Originally they were just the standard K100 bars but, from the PipeBurn and BikeBound features it’s running the LSL Street Bars. Hope this helps.
Are you using the 7/8 or 1 inch bars from LSL? And are you using the original controls or did you swap it for? Thank you for the info.
@@KevinBiju007 they’re the 7/8” bars. Original switch gear.
@@djewen Thank You.
Hey! Great job! What have you done with the original parts? Sold it or still keep them? I ve got interest in some of them
Jose Ignacio Aramburu Gortari hello, thanks for the kind words. I still have the original parts, yes. What are you looking for? I’m based in the UK.
@@djewen yes, I'd like to change the cockpit trim panel of my K75 for one of the K100's series. I think It looks better.
احلا دراجة بنسبة الي اتمنى أن يكون عندي واحدة منها
How much was the cost of build?
Plus manhours @ your rate 😅
Curious
The build cost was a £4100 (including both bikes I used to build this) I’ve never considered what my rate would have been. It took me 384 hours over 76 days. 😅
super
Thank you.
Lovley build I'm just about to do one if these where did you get the seat from?
Simon Lewis thanks for the kind words. The seat is from Texavina.com.
great job ;-)
Thank you 😃
Do you still own this bike mate? I’ve just purchased a k100 👍
Hello. Yes, I’ve still got it! Congrats on your purchase, what’s your plans?
🏍️💨
Great built, I like that exhaust - is it street legal?
Christian Wünsch Thanks. It is street legal, yes. Has an optional removable baffle, with the baffle in the bike is about as loud as the original exhaust.
Do you still have this? Looking to sell by any chance?
Hi Lee. I do yes although I haven’t considered selling it.
I dreaming black K100 body with red frame....
Good luck!
